Planet 7 vs Bovada

Planet 7 vs Bovada starts with geography. Bovada's own help pages shut out 20 states plus DC, many after state regulators sent cease-and-desist letters, while Planet 7 publishes no state list at all. Beyond that, Bovada posts its bonus codes and crypto limits itself, and Planet 7's terms come mostly from third-party reviewers.

Key takeaways

  • Bovada lists 20 restricted states plus DC; no restricted-state list has been found for Planet 7.
  • Michigan's regulator sent Bovada's operator, Harp Media B.V., a cease-and-desist on May 29, 2024, and named Planet 7 on April 9, 2025.
  • Bovada's published crypto welcome offer is 125% up to $1,250 on each of three deposits at 25x, then 50x; Planet 7's reported WELCOME200 is 30x with a $1,000 max cashout.
  • Bovada publishes crypto payouts of up to an hour (24 hours for Bitcoin) after a 24–48 hour review; reviewers report Planet 7 pending times of 5–7 days and a $2,500 weekly cap.

Planet 7 vs Bovada in brief

If you live in one of Bovada's 20 restricted states, the comparison is over before it starts: Bovada says it doesn't serve you. Elsewhere, Bovada wins on published detail and crypto speed, while Planet 7 Casino is an RTG slots casino with the offer via our link and a thinner public paper trail.

Neither casino is licensed by a US state. We earn a commission on Planet 7 sign-ups through our link, which is why it has an offer box and Bovada doesn't. Our ranking order is commercial. For other pairings, browse our compare hub.

Which states Bovada and Planet 7 restrict

Bovada's restricted-countries help page lists 20 codes, and its terms of service (updated January 3, 2024) list the same set. The help page lists DC twice, as "District of Colombia" and "Washington DC".

NortheastConnecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont
Mid-Atlantic and DCDelaware, Maryland, Washington DC, West Virginia

Planet 7 publishes no restricted-state list on our record. Casino Guru reports that it accepts Ohio players, which is a third-party claim, not a statement of what Ohio law allows. A casino taking your sign-up doesn't make playing there lawful. Check your state's gambling page, then Ohio or Colorado if those apply to you.

State regulator actions: Bovada vs Planet 7

Bovada's restricted list tracks its enforcement history closely. The dates below come from the regulators' own releases where available, and from trade press where not.

Michigan's May 2024 release on Bovada (opens in a new tab) names Harp Media B.V. as operator of Bovada.com and Bovada.lv. Its April 9, 2025 release (opens in a new tab) names Planet 7 alongside sister brand Silver Oak. Mississippi's July 2024 public notice (opens in a new tab) is the regulator's own document. For the rest, see trade coverage of the West Virginia and Colorado letters (opens in a new tab) and the Massachusetts letter (opens in a new tab). Our explainer on cease-and-desist letters covers what they mean.

Who runs Planet 7 and Bovada?

Bovada's terms of service don't name a legal entity. They say Bovada is "licensed and regulated by the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara", with no license number. The Michigan regulator identifies the operator as Harp Media B.V. of Curaçao.

Planet 7's site shows no operator or license, according to reviewers. AskGamblers names BTK Ltd Casinos with a Costa Rica license, Blockonomi says BTK Ltd. Casinos (formerly Crystal Palace Group) of Cyprus, and LCB's Planet 7 page (opens in a new tab) names Ace Revenue Group with "No license". Casino Guru also says it has no license. Read who owns Planet 7 Casino and our Bovada legitimacy check.

Whatever the offshore paperwork, neither casino is overseen by a US state. That means no state complaint route, no state-backed protection of your balance and terms the casino sets itself.

Planet 7 vs Bovada welcome bonus: one code or three deposits

Bovada's casino welcome bonus page splits by payment type and spreads over three deposits. Planet 7's reported public offer is a single 200% code.

Codes change, so check them in the cashier before you deposit and see our Planet 7 bonus codes and Bovada bonus pages. Reviewers also list a $25 Planet 7 free chip, code 25FREECHIP (Blockonomi's table says MY25FREE), with a $100 max withdrawal and 30x on slots or 60x on table games and video poker. Both welcome offers are slot-focused, and table games are excluded or weighted lower.

What it costs to clear each bonus

Expected loss equals total stake times house edge. Assume a slot with a 96% return, a 4% house edge, and $100 deposits. Bovada's page doesn't say what the multiple applies to, so the example applies it to the bonus only and notes the cautious case.

  1. Bovada first crypto deposit: $100 at 125% gives a $125 bonus. At 25x the bonus, that's $3,125 of play, an expected cost of $125. If the 25x covers deposit plus bonus, it's $5,625 and $225.
  2. Bovada second crypto deposit: another $125 bonus, but at 50x, so $6,250 of play and an expected cost of $250 on the bonus-only reading.
  3. Planet 7 with WELCOME200, as LCB reports it: $100 gives a $200 bonus. At 30x deposit plus bonus, $300 × 30 = $9,000 of play, an expected cost of $360.
  4. Planet 7's reported $1,000 max cashout then caps what you can take from the bonus, however well the session goes.
  5. Takeaway: Bovada's first deposit is the cheapest to clear here; its 50x follow-ups and Planet 7's 30x both cost more than the bonus adds on average.

Short-term results swing widely, but the house edge means losses are the likely result over time. Our guides on game weighting and the bonus value calculator method walk through more cases.

Planet 7 vs Bovada withdrawals and crypto limits

Bovada's help pages say withdrawals are reviewed in about 24–48 hours, then Bitcoin arrives within up to 24 hours, other crypto within up to an hour and vouchers in about 24 hours. Minimums are $75 for Bitcoin, $50 for Ethereum and Tether, and $10 for Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and Lightning.

For Planet 7, AskGamblers reports a 5–7 day pending period, 7–9 days for bank transfers, no fees and no weekend cashouts, while LCB says payouts "usually take more than a month". Reported minimums are $50 (LCB) or $100 (Blockonomi), and LCB and Casino Guru report a $2,500 weekly cap. AskGamblers instead shows EUR 2,500 a day, so ask support. A $7,500 win at a $2,500 weekly cap would take at least three weeks to cash out.

Read Planet 7 withdrawals, Bovada withdrawals and our explainer on pending withdrawals for what to do if a payout stalls.

Games, apps and support

Planet 7 runs RealTime Gaming slots: LCB counts 347 and names Cash Bandits 2, Cash Bandits 3, Paydirt!, Banana Jones, Fish Catch and Sweet 16, with no live dealer. Blockonomi reports instant play in mobile browsers and a download client, but no app. AskGamblers reports 24/7 live chat and two toll-free numbers. Bovada's software providers and app status aren't published on our record, so check its lobby.

On safer-play tools, AskGamblers lists none at Planet 7, so ask support directly for deposit limits or self-exclusion. You can also add blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker yourself. See our self-exclusion at offshore casinos guide.

Is it legal to play Bovada or Planet 7 in the USA?

Seven states license online casinos: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Neither Bovada nor Planet 7 is licensed in any of them, and Bovada already restricts all seven. Elsewhere, your state's law decides; check our overview of offshore casino legality.

Winnings are taxable federal income wherever you win them. For 2026 payments, the W-2G reporting threshold for slots is $2,000, so keep your own records whether or not a casino sends you a form. Our gambling taxes guide explains reporting and the reported 90% cap on loss deductions from tax year 2026; check IRS guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Which states do Bovada and Planet 7 not accept?

Bovada's help page lists 20 restricted codes: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and West Virginia. Its terms list the same set. Many follow state cease-and-desist letters. Planet 7 publishes no state list. Check your state's page and our Bovada review before signing up anywhere.

Is Bovada or Planet 7 licensed in the US?

No. Neither is licensed or regulated by any US state. Bovada's terms cite the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara, with no license number, and Michigan's regulator names Harp Media B.V. as its operator. Planet 7 shows no license on its site, and reviewers variously report Costa Rica or no license. Read is Planet 7 legit and player protections offshore vs licensed.

Why did Michigan send letters to Bovada and Planet 7?

Michigan licenses its own online casinos and treats unlicensed sites serving its residents as illegal. The Michigan Gaming Control Board sent Bovada's operator, Harp Media B.V., a cease-and-desist on May 29, 2024, and named Planet 7 among 13 unlicensed operators on April 9, 2025. Bovada now lists Michigan as restricted. Michigan residents have state-licensed options with state protections. See online casinos in Michigan and can I play online casinos in Michigan.

How fast are Bovada withdrawals compared with Planet 7?

Bovada publishes faster times. Its help pages describe a review of about 24–48 hours, then up to 24 hours for Bitcoin and up to an hour for other crypto. For Planet 7, AskGamblers reports a 5–7 day pending period and 7–9 days for bank transfers, and LCB says payouts often take more than a month. Planet 7's times are third-party reports. See how long casino withdrawals take and Planet 7 withdrawals.

What are the Bovada casino bonus codes?

Bovada's welcome page lists BTCCWB1250 for the first crypto deposit, then BTC2NDCWB, at 125% up to $1,250 each. Card players use CAWELCOME100, then BV2NDCWB, at 100% up to $1,000 each. Wagering is 25x on the first deposit and 50x on the later crypto ones, or 25x for cards. Codes change, so confirm them in the cashier. Compare the Bovada bonus page with our guide to bonus codes.

What weekly cashout cap do reviewers report for Planet 7?

Reviewers report $2,500 a week. LCB and Casino Guru both give that figure, while AskGamblers shows EUR 2,500 per day and Casino Guru separately says the daily limit is under $500, so the sources don't fully agree. Planet 7 doesn't publish the cap on pages we could check, so confirm it with support before depositing large sums. Bovada's weekly cap isn't on our record. See weekly withdrawal limits and Planet 7 banking.

Does Planet 7 have more slots than Bovada?

Planet 7's slot count is reported, Bovada's isn't. LCB counts 347 Planet 7 slots, all from RealTime Gaming, and Blockonomi reports 195 or more plus 14 video poker variants. Bovada's software providers and game count aren't published on our record, so a fair count comparison isn't possible. Check each lobby for the titles you want. Our Planet 7 slots page lists RTG titles reported in its lobby.

What is the minimum deposit at Planet 7 vs Bovada?

Planet 7's lowest reported deposit is $5 by Bitcoin Lightning, with cards from $30, per third-party listings. Bovada's deposit minimums aren't published on the pages on our record, though its crypto help pages do set withdrawal floors. Planet 7's public WELCOME200 code is reported with a $30 minimum by Blockonomi, so a $5 Lightning deposit may not qualify for it. Bovada's bonus pages give match rates and codes but no deposit floor, so check its cashier. Our minimum deposits guide and the $5 deposit casinos list explain how low deposits and bonuses interact.

What is the minimum withdrawal at Bovada and Planet 7?

Bovada publishes its crypto floors: $75 for Bitcoin, $50 for Ethereum and Tether, and $10 for Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and Lightning. Planet 7's minimum is reported at $50 by LCB and $100 by Blockonomi, a conflict worth checking with support. AskGamblers lists bank wire, check and Bitcoin as Planet 7's withdrawal methods, with no fees. If you want to cash out small wins, Bovada's $10 Lightning floor is the lowest on this page. Our withdrawal limits explainer and Bovada withdrawals page have the detail.

Which cryptocurrencies do Planet 7 and Bovada accept?

Bovada's help pages list Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and Bitcoin Lightning. Third-party reviewers list Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether and XRP at Planet 7, with USDC and BNB per one reviewer. Planet 7's reported crypto payout route is Bitcoin, while Bovada publishes payouts in several coins, most within an hour of approval. If you hold Dogecoin or XRP, Planet 7 covers them; for Bitcoin SV, Bovada does. See Planet 7 Bitcoin and our best crypto casinos list.

Can I play Planet 7 and Bovada on my phone?

Planet 7 plays in a mobile browser on iPhone and Android, according to Blockonomi, which also mentions a download client for computers but no app. Bovada's app status isn't published on the pages on our record, so open its site on your phone to check. With browser play, your account, bonus and cashier work the same as on desktop. Save the real address as a bookmark to avoid unofficial mirror sites. Our Planet 7 mobile page and mobile casino guide cover browser play in more detail.

Does Planet 7 or Bovada have a no deposit bonus?

Reviewers list a $25 Planet 7 free chip, code 25FREECHIP, though Blockonomi's table shows it as MY25FREE. Reported terms are 30x wagering on slots, 60x on table games and video poker, and a $100 max withdrawal. On slots, $25 × 30 means $750 of bets before any cashout. Bovada's no-deposit offers aren't on our record; its published welcome bonuses all need a deposit. Codes change, and a code that fails in the cashier shouldn't be forced. See Planet 7 no deposit bonus and our guide to free chip offers.

What ID do Planet 7 and Bovada ask for?

LCB reports that Planet 7 asks for an ID card, passport or driver's license, proof of address, a selfie holding your ID and, if you paid by card, a credit card verification form. Documents go by email to documents@planet7casino.com, with verification taking 0–3 days. Bovada's document rules aren't on our record, so check its help pages. Send everything before your first withdrawal, since unverified accounts are a common cause of the 5–7 day pending periods reviewers describe. Our Planet 7 verification page and KYC documents guide have tips.

Is Bovada legal in Mississippi?

No, the Mississippi Gaming Commission says any casino game or sports wager conducted online for money is illegal in the state, and it has acted against Bovada twice. Its July 24, 2024 public notice listed a cease-and-desist (spelled "Bovado"), and trade press reports June 17, 2025 orders naming bovada.lv. The commission's June 2025 notice warned players could face prosecution and forfeiture of deposits. Mississippi isn't on Bovada's published restricted list, which shows how little such lists settle. Planet 7 publishes no list. Read our Mississippi online casinos page and offshore casino legality.

Can I play Planet 7 or Bovada in Texas?

Texas isn't on Bovada's restricted list and Planet 7 publishes none, but neither casino is licensed in Texas, and state law doesn't authorize online casinos or online sports betting there. Texas also bars selling lottery tickets over the internet or by app since SB 3070 moved the lottery to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. A casino accepting a sign-up from Houston, San Antonio or Dallas isn't permission under state law. Players have no state regulator to turn to in a dispute. See our Texas online casinos page and the state-by-state guide.
