RealTime Gaming (RTG) casinos run games from RTG, a studio founded in Atlanta in 1998 that now supplies mostly offshore sites taking US players. Below: who owns it, what it makes, how its jackpots and fairness testing work, which partner casinos use it, and what US law says before you deposit.
RTG began in Atlanta in 1998 and moved its operations to Costa Rica around 2007, according to third-party histories.
Third-party reports put the RTG library at roughly 300 to 376 games, mostly slots.
Since 2022 RTG has used the SpinLogic Gaming name for US-facing operations, as reported.
RTG casinos that take US players are offshore: no US state licenses or regulates them.
Published RTPs show a 99.6% blackjack variant and slots around 95% to 97.5%, so losses over time are still the expected outcome.

What are RealTime Gaming (RTG) casinos?
An RTG casino is any online casino whose lobby is built on RealTime Gaming's platform and game library. The casino handles the cashier, bonuses and support, while RTG supplies the slots, table games, video poker and the jackpot networks that link them.
For American players this matters because RTG is one of the few studios whose games are widely offered by offshore casinos that accept US sign-ups. You won't find RTG titles at the state-licensed online casinos in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Michigan; you'll find them at sites licensed overseas, if at all. Our casino software providers hub compares RTG with the other studios these sites use.
Since 2022 many RTG games appear under the SpinLogic Gaming name, which third-party reviewers describe as RTG under a different brand. The games and the math behind them are the same, so a casino advertising SpinLogic is effectively an RTG casino. If you want the short version first, our explainer on what RTG is covers it in a few paragraphs.
RTG history: from Atlanta to Costa Rica
Wikipedia, PokerListings, GamesHub and LCB all date RealTime Gaming to 1998 in Atlanta, Georgia. Only one source, GamblingNews, names a founder (Daniel Schultz); the others don't, so treat that detail as unconfirmed.

Today the studio's base is reported as Heredia, Costa Rica. GamblingNews also lists an address in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, which conflicts with the other sources, and no official RTG page could confirm either.
Who owns RealTime Gaming, and what license does it hold?
Wikipedia names the owner as Hastings International, a Curaçao company managed by HBM Group. No other source in our checks contradicts the owner, only the year of purchase.
Licensing is less clear. SlotCatalog lists a Curaçao license. PokerListings lists Curaçao and Panama in one place and Costa Rica and Curaçao in another, and GamesHub mentions GLI, the Curaçao Gaming Control Board and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. No license number is published in any of these sources, and RTG's own site couldn't be reached to settle it.
A software supplier's license doesn't license the casino. Each RTG casino has its own operator and its own license claim (or none), and no US state regulator covers any of them. See our offshore casino legality guide for what that means in practice.
Popular RTG slots and their published specs
Slots make up the bulk of the RTG library: SlotCatalog counts 318 video slots out of 347 games, PokerListings says 300+, and LCB says it has reviewed 376 RTG slots. The table below lists well-known titles with figures reported by third-party catalogs; RTG's own pages weren't available to confirm them.
Two patterns stand out. Older RTG titles such as Coyote Cash and Goldbeard are reported at 97.5%, while many newer ones sit at 95% to 96.25%. And a fair number of RTG slots carry a progressive jackpot on top of the base game, which is part of why the studio is popular with US-facing casinos.
RTG table games and video poker: the cost in dollars
RTG also builds blackjack variants, roulette, poker-based table games, video poker and specialty games such as keno and Fish Catch. The RTPs below come from third-party sources. The last column shows the expected loss on $1,000 of total bets, calculated as total stake × (100% − RTP).
Published RTPs for RTG table games and video poker
Here's a worked example. Playing Super 21 at $10 a hand for 100 hands puts $1,000 in action, so the expected cost is about $4. The same $1,000 run through Sevens Wild costs about $68.50 on average. Short sessions swing far more than these averages, in both directions, but the house edge is what you pay over time.
RTG progressive jackpots and Real Series random jackpots
RTG runs two kinds of jackpot. The first is the Real Series: Wikipedia explains that non-progressive Real Series slots can carry tiered random jackpots that are local to one casino or to a group run by the same operator, and that can drop regardless of the symbols on the reels. Our Real Series jackpots guide walks through how these work.
The second is pooled progressives. Wikipedia names Jackpot Piñatas and Aztec's Millions as jackpots shared across casinos, and PokerListings adds Megasaur. GamesHub reports that RTG's networked jackpots often pass $1 million and cites an Aztec's Millions win of more than $1.7 million at one RTG casino. It also describes a Jackpot Pyramid pool and a Boiling Point Jackpot with up to five tiered meters.
A large jackpot doesn't make a game better value. Part of every stake feeds the meter, and the odds of hitting the top prize aren't published. Our page on the RTG progressive jackpot system sets out what is and isn't known.
Are RTG casino games fair? Testing and RNGs
LCB and GamblingNews both report that RTG games are tested by Technical Systems Testing (TST), an independent lab. GamesHub separately mentions GLI. Neither report includes a certificate date or a link to a certificate, so the scope and recency of that testing aren't published.
Every RTG game uses a random number generator to decide each result, and nothing about past spins changes the next one. Our guide to how RNGs work explains this, and our answer on whether RTG games are fair covers the evidence in more detail.
The weak point isn't usually the game; it's the casino. An RTG lobby can be identical at two sites while their withdrawal caps, bonus rules and complaint records differ widely. No US regulator audits the casino's settings or handles disputes, which is the main gap compared with a state-licensed site.
Which real money casinos run RTG software?
Six of the seven partners in our ranking are reported to run RTG or SpinLogic games, though the evidence varies. The exception is Miami Club, ranked second, which runs WGS (Wager Gaming) games rather than RTG. The table shows who reports it and what kind of source it is.
WGS (Wager Gaming) per LCB, with Dragon Gaming and Arrows Edge also listed
You'll also see RTG at non-partner sites such as Raging Bull Slots, whose own terms name RTG, and Jackpot Capital, which shows an RTG footer logo. Our ranked list of the best RTG casinos compares the partners on bonuses, banking and caps. The ranking is commercial: we earn commission from partners.
How to check an RTG casino before you deposit
Because the games are the same everywhere, the checks that matter are about the operator. Work through these before sending money.
Read your state's law on online gambling. Our state-by-state guide links each state's page.
Find the operator and license claim in the casino's terms, and compare it with what reviewers report.
Search the Michigan Gaming Control Board and other regulator releases for the casino's name.
Read the bonus terms in full: wagering, max cashout, max bet and which games count.
Check the banking page for weekly withdrawal caps, fees and minimum withdrawals.
Set a deposit limit and a session budget you can afford to lose before your first spin.
RTG casinos that accept American players are offshore, and no US state licenses or regulates them. Seven states license real-money online casinos (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island), and RTG sites aren't among the licensed operators there.
Federal law doesn't make placing a bet a crime for the player; UIGEA targets payment processing for unlawful internet gambling. Whether playing is lawful depends on your state, and some regulators, such as Michigan's, call offshore operators illegal. The Michigan Gaming Control Board, for example, has sent cease-and-desist letters to RTG-powered sites; see our page on cease-and-desist letters.
In practice, playing offshore means no state regulator to complain to, no state-backed protection of your balance, and terms the casino sets and can change. Our offshore vs state-licensed guide compares the protections side by side.
RTG casinos with an offer via our links
The three offers below are from partners reported to run RTG games. All three are offshore, none is licensed by any US state, and you should check your state's law before signing up. Offers are for new players aged 21+ (18+ where allowed), and terms apply.
Slot Madness Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviewer LCB lists a 275% match up to $2,750 with code MAD275, a $30 minimum deposit, 30x (bonus + deposit) wagering on slots and no max cashout; the terms shown at sign-up apply. The Michigan Gaming Control Board named Slot Madness in an August 14, 2025 cease-and-desist release (opens in a new tab).
SlotoCash Casino: $6,000 Welcome Bonus + 60 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's own terms advertise a different package, $7,777 + 300 spins over five deposits, with 25x (deposit + bonus) wagering, a $20 minimum per bonus, a $10 max bet and no max cashout. The board named SlotoCash in an October 8, 2026 release (opens in a new tab).
Decode Casino: $5,000 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Decode's site shows a $111 free chip and crypto bonuses without visible terms; LCB lists code DECODE111 (111% up to $1,111, 25x bonus + deposit, $25 minimum). VegasSlotsOnline reports that Decode refuses players from Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
Worked example: a $100 deposit with a 275% match adds $275, and 30x on $375 means $11,250 of wagering. At a 96% RTP the expected loss on that wagering is about $450, more than the bonus itself, so treat any bonus as extra play time rather than profit. Free spins and bonus funds are slot-focused; table games are often excluded or weighted lower. See how wagering requirements work and, if gambling stops being fun, call 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738) or visit NCPG (opens in a new tab).

Frequently asked questions
What is RealTime Gaming?
RealTime Gaming is a casino software studio founded in Atlanta in 1998 and now reported to be based in Costa Rica. It makes slots, table games, video poker and progressive jackpot systems that offshore casinos license for their lobbies. Since 2022 it has used the SpinLogic Gaming name for US-facing operations, according to PokerListings. Our RTG software guide explains how the platform fits together, and the SpinLogic section above covers the rebrand.
Who owns RTG?
RTG is reported to be owned by Hastings International, a Curaçao company managed by HBM Group. Wikipedia dates the purchase to January 2007, while GamesHub says 2008. RTG's own website couldn't be reached to confirm either, and no ownership filing is published in the sources we checked. The ownership question matters less to players than who runs the casino itself, which our casino reviews cover one by one, including operator and license claims.
Are RTG casinos legit?
RTG is an established studio, but each RTG casino has to be judged on its own. The games are reported to be lab-tested by TST, while the casinos are offshore, and many carry warning labels or complaint records with reviewers. Several have been named in Michigan cease-and-desist actions. Check each site's terms, caps and regulator history first, using our legit-casino list.
Do RTG casinos accept US players?
Many offshore RTG casinos accept US sign-ups, but none is licensed by a US state, and some refuse players from particular states. Decode, for example, is reported to refuse Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington. No partner publishes a full restricted-state list, so check the casino's terms and your own state law. Our states hub explains the rules where you live.
What is the best RTG slot?
There's no single best RTG slot; it depends on whether you value RTP, volatility or jackpots. Among third-party figures, Coyote Cash, Enchanted Garden and Goldbeard are reported at 97.5%, the highest RTP figures we list for RTG slots. Higher RTP lowers the average cost but never removes it. See our answer on the best RTG slot.
Can you win real money at RTG casinos?
Yes, RTG casinos pay real-money wins, but the house edge means losses are the expected result over time. A slot reported at 95% RTP returns $95 per $100 wagered on average across a huge number of spins, and any session can land well above or below that. Withdrawals also depend on the casino's caps and checks. Read can you win real money online for the honest math.
Do RealTime Gaming casinos offer live dealer tables?
Live dealer tables aren't part of the RTG library as catalogs describe it, and most of our partners don't offer them. LCB lists live dealer at SlotoCash, but the casino's own site doesn't mention it, and reviewers report no live dealer at Planet 7, Silver Oak or Slot Madness. Our answer on whether RTG casinos have live dealer explains where live tables come from instead.
Is RTG the same as SpinLogic?
Effectively yes. PokerListings reports that RTG adopted the SpinLogic Gaming brand in 2022 for its US and many international operations, and LCB describes SpinLogic as RTG under a different brand. The same titles appear under both names, so a casino advertising SpinLogic is running the RTG library. Our SpinLogic Gaming casinos page covers what changed and what didn't.
Can I play RTG games on my phone?
Yes, RTG casinos run in a phone browser, and most don't need an app. SlotoCash's support page says there is currently no app or software required and suggests adding a home-screen shortcut. Silver Oak's mobile page names Realtime Gaming and lists browser play on iPhone, Android and tablets, plus a downloadable Windows client for PCs. Third-party reviews describe Planet 7 as instant play in Android and iOS browsers, with a download client too. Offshore casinos rarely sit in app stores, so treat a 'casino app' download link with care. See our best mobile casinos and is there a casino app.
How fast do RealTime Gaming casinos pay out winnings?
Payout speed at RTG casinos depends on the operator, not the software, and published times range from about two business days to several weeks. SlotoCash's banking pages say requests are processed within 48 business hours, with free Bitcoin payouts and a $5,000 weekly cap. Third-party reviews report Royal Ace and Slot Madness withdrawals pending 7 to 10 days, with no weekend cashouts and $2,500 weekly caps, and LCB flags delayed payments at both. Verify your account before you request a payout. Compare the partners on our fast payout casinos list and read casino withdrawal delays.
Which RealTime Gaming title has the highest published RTP?
Among published figures, Super 21 has the highest RTP of any RTG game, at 99.6% according to PokerListings. Jacks or Better follows at 99.54% (GamesHub) and Suit 'Em Up Blackjack at 99.51% (SlotCatalog). The top RTG slots are reported at 97.5%, including Coyote Cash, Enchanted Garden and Goldbeard. In dollars, $1,000 of Super 21 hands costs about $4 on average, against $25 on a 97.5% slot. The table and video poker figures assume perfect strategy. Our high RTP casinos list and video poker strategy guide explain how to get close to them.
Do RTG casino bonuses count on table games?
Usually not in full, because RTG casino bonuses are built for slots and table games are excluded or weighted lower. SlotoCash's general bonus terms exclude table and specialty games by default. Silver Oak's terms set 60x wagering for table games and video poker, against 40x for slots, so a $200 balance from a $100 deposit and $100 bonus needs $12,000 in table bets instead of $8,000 on slots. Read the eligible-games list before you play blackjack with a bonus. See best bonus for blackjack and table games bonus.
Are RealTime Gaming casinos legal in Georgia, where RTG began?
No, Georgia doesn't license online casinos, so the RTG sites Georgians find are offshore, even though RealTime Gaming itself started in Atlanta in 1998. The state has no casino or sports betting regulator, and sports betting isn't legal; one third-party report puts HB 686 in subcommittee, with 2027 the likeliest date. The Georgia Lottery does sell online play through Players Club accounts to players located in Georgia, from age 18. Players in Atlanta, Columbus and Augusta can reach the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. Read our Georgia online casinos page and can I play online casinos in Georgia.
