What our online slot reviews cover
Most of the slots at the casinos we cover come from RealTime Gaming (RTG). According to PokerListings' RTG profile (opens in a new tab), RTG adopted the SpinLogic Gaming brand for its US and many international operations in 2022, so the same games appear under both names. Each review gives a specs table built only from published game data: developer, RTP, volatility, layout, paylines, max win, release year and main feature. Where a figure isn't published, the table says so. Game data comes from third-party catalogs such as SlotCatalog, because RTG's own site doesn't publish full specs, and we label it that way.
Beyond the specs, each review explains how the features work, what a $50 budget looks like at $0.25, $1 and $5 spins, whether there's a progressive jackpot, and similar RTG games. We never quote hit rates or bonus trigger frequencies, because they aren't published. Popular reviews include Bubble Bubble, Cash Bandits 3 and Sweet 16.
| Slot | RTP | Volatility | Released |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bubble Bubble | 95% | Medium | 2016 |
| Coyote Cash | 97.5% | High | 2013 |
| Enchanted Garden | 97.5% | Low | 2011 |
| Panda Magic | 95% | High | 2016 |
| Aztec's Millions | 94% | High | 2015 |
| Fat Cat Cafe | 95.5% | Low | 2019 |
Slot RTP and volatility in dollars
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money staked that a slot is set to pay back over a very large number of spins. The rest is the house edge. Your expected loss is simple arithmetic: total stake × house edge.
- 500 spins at $1 on a 95% RTP slot: $500 staked × 5% = an expected loss of $25.
- The same 500 spins on a 97.5% RTP slot: $500 × 2.5% = $12.50.
- 500 spins at $5 on the 95% slot: $2,500 × 5% = $125.
Those are averages over the long run. In a single session, volatility decides how far your results swing. A high-volatility game such as Panda Magic can drain a balance quickly before any bigger win, while a low-volatility game pays smaller amounts more often. Slots are never "due" a win: each spin is random and independent. Read how slot RTP works, slot volatility explained and the hot and cold slots myth.

RTG progressive jackpots and where to play slots
RTG runs several jackpot systems. Pooled progressives such as Aztec's Millions and Jackpot Piñatas collect contributions across casinos, according to third-party sources. Real Series slots carry random jackpots that can drop whatever symbols land and are local to one casino or one operator's group. Megasaur is one of RTG's best-known progressive titles. See progressive jackpots explained and our RTG progressive jackpot system page.
Each slot review says where the game is reported available, but lobbies change, so check the casino's lobby before you deposit. Our partner casinos mostly run RTG or SpinLogic games; see best RTG casinos and best slots casinos. They are offshore and not licensed by any US state, so check your state's law first. Any offer shown is for new players, 21+ (18+ where allowed), terms apply.
Highest RTP RTG slots with published figures
RTP is the cleanest way to compare the long-run cost of two slots. These are the highest figures in third-party game data for RTG titles we review. Casinos can run different RTP versions of some games, so check the game's help screen at your casino.
| Slot | RTP | Volatility | Released |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swindle All the Way | 98.5% | Not published | 2017 |
| Coyote Cash | 97.5% | High | 2013 |
| Goldbeard | 97.5% | Medium | 2012 |
| Pay Dirt | 97.5% | High | 2011 |
| Diamond Dozen | 97.5% | Low | 2010 |
| Lion's Lair | 97.5% | Medium | 2010 |
| Meerkat Misfits | 97.3% | High | 2022 |
| Moby Dick | 97.13% | Not published | 2013 |
| Caesar's Empire | 97% | High | 2011 |
| 777 | 97% | Medium | 2019 |
The gap looks small but adds up. On $1,000 of total spins, the expected cost is $15 at 98.5% RTP, $25 at 97.5% and $60 at 94%, the figure listed for Aztec's Millions. Many newer RTG releases list 96.25%, such as Storm Lords and Pharaoh Mysteries, and plenty of titles have no published RTP at all, which their reviews say plainly.
What a $50 slot budget looks like at $0.25, $1 and $5 spins
Every slot review shows what a $50 budget means at three bet sizes. The arithmetic is the same for any game: number of spins × bet = total staked, and total staked × house edge = expected loss.
| Bet per spin | Spins before any wins | Staked over 100 spins | Expected loss over 100 spins at 95% RTP | At 97.5% RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0.25 | 200 | $25 | $1.25 | $0.63 |
| $1 | 50 | $100 | $5 | $2.50 |
| $5 | 10 | $500 | $25 | $12.50 |
Wins get recycled, so a session usually lasts longer than the base spin count, but nothing guarantees it. At $5 a spin, ten losing spins end a $50 session, and a high-volatility game makes that more likely in the short run. Smaller bets stretch the budget and keep the dollar cost of the house edge down. Our penny slots guide and bankroll management guide cover sizing bets to a budget.
Low, medium and high volatility RTG slots compared
Volatility describes how a slot's payouts are spread, not how much it pays back. Two slots with the same RTP can feel very different. Third-party catalogs label many RTG titles, and our reviews show the label where one is published.
| Volatility | What it means for a session | Examples with published labels |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Smaller wins more often; balance tends to move slowly | Enchanted Garden, Fat Cat Cafe, Fruit Frenzy |
| Medium | A mix of small wins and occasional larger ones | Bubble Bubble, Ancient Gods, Fortunate Zeus |
| High | Long dry spells are normal; most of the return sits in rarer big wins | Panda Magic, Rain Dance, Persian Treasures |
Pick volatility to fit your budget and patience. With a small bankroll, a high-volatility game can end a session before its features show up. We don't publish hit rates or bonus trigger frequencies, because developers don't. Labels also vary between catalogs: SlotCatalog calls Cash Bandits 2 high volatility, while GamesHub says relatively high. Our what is volatility answer explains the term in more detail.
Where to play RTG slots: titles reported in partner lobbies
Each slot review lists where the game is reported available. The table shows titles that partners name on their own sites or that third-party reviews report in their lobbies. Lobbies change, so check the casino's lobby before you deposit.
| Casino | Slots named | Source |
|---|---|---|
| SlotoCash | Cash Bandits 3, Shadow Gods, Cleopatra's Gold, Coyote Cash 2, Ritchie Valens La Bamba | Casino's homepage |
| Miami Club | Mainly WGS titles, such as Wheel of Chance II and Time Bender II; see Miami Club slots | Casino's homepage |
| Decode | 300+ RTG slots, per its site title; titles not named | Casino's site |
| Silver Oak | Magic Mushroom, T-Rex II, Vegas Lux, 5 Wishes | Casino's site |
| Planet 7 | Cash Bandits 2, Sweet 16 | Third-party reports |
| Royal Ace | Cash Bandits 2, Cash Bandits 3, Paydirt! | Third-party reports |
| Slot Madness | Horseman's Prize, Mighty Drums, Panda's Gold, Rudolph's Revenge | Third-party reports |
Miami Club is the odd one out: it's reported to run Wager Gaming (WGS) software, so most RTG reviews won't match its lobby. Welcome free spins are tied to named slots too. SlotoCash's welcome terms attach spins to Charms of the Forest, Egyptian Gold, Sweet 16, Sweet 16 Blast and Sweet Shop Collect. Any offer is for new players, 21+ (18+ where allowed), terms apply, and every partner is offshore and not licensed by any US state. If a slot you want isn't in the lobby, each review ends with similar RTG games you can look for instead.
RTG slot features explained: jackpots, hold and spin and free games
Our reviews describe each feature in plain words, using only what the published game data says. A few feature types come up again and again in RTG's catalog.
- Real Series random jackpots. Tiered jackpots added to non-progressive Real Series slots, which can drop on any spin whatever symbols land, according to Wikipedia's RTG article (opens in a new tab); see Real Series jackpot.
- Pooled progressives. One jackpot fed by bets across many casinos, as with Aztec's Millions; see pooled jackpot.
- Hold and spin. Special symbols lock in place while the remaining positions respin; see hold and spin.
- Free games and multipliers. Scatter symbols usually trigger free games, and multipliers scale wins; see scatter and multiplier.
- Bonus buys. Some slots let you pay to enter the feature directly. Bonus terms can count the buy as a bet: Miami Club's say buy-bonus purchases count toward its max bet rule.
Features change how a slot feels, not its long-run cost, which RTP sets. A slot with a big feature often has higher volatility, because more of the return is held back for the bonus round. The bonus round and buy feature glossary entries go further, and each slot review explains its own features step by step without adding details the data doesn't support.
Common online slot mistakes that cost money
- Believing a slot is due. Each spin is random and independent, so a long dry spell doesn't make a win more likely. Read what is a hot slot.
- Reading the coin size, not the total bet. A small coin across many lines can add up to a large bet per spin.
- Playing jackpot slots with a bonus. SlotoCash's welcome terms exclude progressive jackpot slots, and its general terms exclude progressives by default.
- Going over the max bet. A spin above the bonus limit, $10 at SlotoCash and Miami Club, can void bonus winnings.
- Assuming the RTP you read is the RTP you get. Some games come in several versions; check the help screen.
- Treating demo results as a forecast. Play credits show features, not future results.
Our casino myths guide covers more of these, and the gambler's fallacy guide shows why past spins tell you nothing about the next one.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best online slot to play for real money?
There's no best slot for everyone, but RTP and volatility help you choose. Published third-party data puts several older RTG slots, such as Coyote Cash and Enchanted Garden, at 97.5% RTP, which means a lower expected cost per dollar staked than a 95% game. Volatility then decides how bumpy the ride is. Pick a game whose swings fit your budget. Read what is the best slot to play and what is the best RTG slot.
Are online slots rigged?
Slots use random number generators, so each spin is independent and no slot is due to pay. RTG's games are reported by third parties to be tested by Technical Systems Testing, but offshore casinos aren't overseen by a US state regulator, so there's no state check on how games are set up. The house edge is built in and means losses are likely over time. See are slots rigged online and are RTG games fair.
What RTP should I look for in a slot?
Higher is better for your expected cost. Among RTG slots with published figures, RTPs commonly range from about 94% to 97.5%. On $1,000 of total spins, the expected loss is $60 at 94% and $25 at 97.5%. Some newer games come in several RTP versions, so the figure at your casino may differ. Our what is RTP answer and RTP glossary entry explain how to read it.
How do progressive jackpots work on RTG slots?
A small part of each qualifying bet feeds a jackpot that grows until someone wins it. Pooled RTG progressives such as Aztec's Millions are shared across casinos, while Real Series random jackpots are local to one casino or operator group and can be won on any spin, according to third-party sources. The chance of a jackpot on any spin is small. See what is a progressive jackpot and Real Series jackpots guide.
Can I play RTG slots for free?
Some casinos let you try slots in demo mode with play credits, which have no cash value and can't be withdrawn. Demo play shows the features and pace of a game without risking money. Remember that demo results don't predict real-money results, since every spin is random. Our demo mode guide and free slots vs real money explain the differences and what to watch for.
What slot machine pays the most?
It depends on whether you mean the best return or the biggest win. By published RTP, Swindle All the Way leads the RTG slots we review at 98.5%, with several older titles at 97.5%. By top prize, third-party data lists max wins as high as 125,000x the bet on Panda Magic. A huge max win usually comes with high volatility, so it's rare by design. See what slot pays the most and our Swindle All the Way review.
What is the RTP of Cash Bandits?
It depends on the game in the series, and figures differ by source. Third-party data lists Cash Bandits 2 at 96.25% (GamesHub) or 95% (PokerListings), while no RTP is published for the original Cash Bandits or Cash Bandits 3. Cash Bandits Museum Heist is listed at 95%. Where sources disagree, check the game's help screen at your casino. Read what is RTP on Cash Bandits and our Cash Bandits 2 review.
Can you win real money on online slots?
Yes, real-money slots pay real winnings, but the house edge means losing is the likely result over time. A 95% RTP slot keeps about $5 of every $100 staked on average, and a single session can swing far above or below that. Bonus winnings also face wagering and caps before you can withdraw. Treat slots as paid entertainment and set a budget first. Read can you win real money online and how to play slots.
Are penny slots worth playing?
They can stretch a budget, but low bets don't change the house edge, only the dollar cost. Five hundred spins at $0.25 is $125 staked, so a 95% RTP slot has an expected loss of $6.25, against $125 for the same spins at $5. Watch total bet per spin rather than coin size, since many lines can add up. Small bets also mean smaller wins. See our penny slots guide and low stakes guide.
How often do slot jackpots hit?
Nobody outside the developer can say, because RTG doesn't publish jackpot hit rates or trigger frequencies, and we won't guess. What is known is the structure: Real Series random jackpots can drop on any spin and are local to one casino or operator group, while pooled progressives collect from many casinos. The chance on any single spin is small. Treat a jackpot as a rare bonus, not a plan. Read how often do jackpots hit and jackpot odds.
