PayPal casinos for US players

PayPal casinos for US players are, in practice, limited to state-licensed sites in the few states that license online casinos: none of our offshore partner casinos lists PayPal for deposits or withdrawals. This page explains why, how to check a casino's claim, which scams use the PayPal name, and what the partners accept instead.

Key takeaways

  • No partner casino lists PayPal, on its own site or in third-party reviews.
  • Federal law bars gambling businesses from accepting electronic transfers for unlawful internet gambling, which keeps mainstream payment brands away from offshore casinos.
  • If PayPal matters to you, look only at state-licensed casinos in states that license online play, and check the operator's cashier page.
  • A request to pay a casino through a personal PayPal transfer is a warning sign.
  • Partners take cards and crypto in, and pay out mainly by Bitcoin, bank wire or check.

PayPal casinos for US players: the short answer

You can't use PayPal at any of our partner casinos. None of SlotoCash, Miami Club, Decode, Silver Oak, Planet 7, Royal Ace or Slot Madness lists PayPal on its own banking pages or in the payment lists that third-party reviewers publish. That is typical of offshore casinos that take US players.

PayPal is a mainstream US payment company, and mainstream payment brands generally keep away from gambling that a state hasn't licensed. Where an online casino holds a state license, the operator's cashier page shows which methods it offers. Our banking hub and our answer to can I use PayPal at online casinos cover the wider picture.

PayPal is missing from every partner's payment list

Here is what each partner publishes or is reported to accept. SlotoCash, Miami Club and Silver Oak publish on their own sites; the rest come from third-party reviews.

Some reviewers also list Neteller for withdrawals at Royal Ace and Slot Madness, but LCB says Neteller isn't available to US players there. Miami Club's banking page does list eZee Wallet deposits from $10, but it doesn't say whether that e-wallet is open to US players, and a third-party review marks eZeeWallet as not available to US players at Decode. No e-wallet of PayPal's kind is confirmed for US players at any partner, and none is listed for withdrawals. Compare the methods on our Bitcoin, debit card and bank wire pages.

Why offshore casinos don't offer PayPal

The main reason is federal payment law. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act bars gambling businesses from accepting credit, electronic fund transfers, checks and similar payments in connection with unlawful internet gambling, under 31 U.S.C. § 5363 (opens in a new tab). Whether a bet is unlawful turns on the law where it is made, as the UIGEA definitions (opens in a new tab) set out.

That puts the compliance burden on the payment chain. Banks and card networks tag gambling with merchant category code 7995, and some US banks decline those transactions or add checks. A large regulated payment company has every reason to avoid casinos that no state licenses. PayPal's own user agreement sets its rules on gambling, so read it rather than relying on a casino's claim.

UIGEA targets payment processing; it doesn't make placing a bet a federal crime for the player. Our UIGEA explainer covers the law in full.

PayPal and state-licensed online casinos

Seven states license real-money online casinos: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Maine legalized tribal-run online casinos in January 2026, but nothing had launched by October 2026 and a lawsuit is pending. A state-licensed casino operates under its regulator's rules, and its cashier shows which payment methods it offers.

If PayPal is important to you and you are in one of those states, that is where to look. Confirm the operator is on the regulator's list first; Michigan's Gaming Control Board, for example, publishes its authorized online gaming providers (opens in a new tab). Our list of states with legal online casinos and the states hub explain each state's law. Our offshore partners are not among the state-licensed operators.

‘PayPal accepted’ claims: warning signs to watch for

Because players search for PayPal casinos, the name gets used as bait. Be wary of any of these:

  • A request to send money to a person. Paying a named individual by PayPal, or any person-to-person app, instead of the casino's cashier means the money goes to someone, not the casino. See our page on person-to-person transfers.
  • Unofficial mirror sites. Copycat sites use a brand's name on a different domain and may list payment methods the real casino doesn't. Our guide to casino mirror sites explains how to tell them apart.
  • A ‘fee’ to release winnings. Being told to pay by PayPal or crypto before a withdrawal is released is a classic scam pattern.
  • No license, operator or terms. A site with PayPal logos but no named operator or published terms is a reason to stop.

Our rogue casino checklist and phishing guide cover more patterns.

PayPal vs Bitcoin vs cards vs bank wire for casino payments

Bank wireAll seven for withdrawals$100 withdrawal, where publishedDepends on your bankYes, with fees up to $60
Check by courierAll seven for withdrawals$100–$150 withdrawal, where publishedNot applicableYes, with fees up to $60

The FTC notes that crypto payments (opens in a new tab) lack the legal protections of credit cards and generally can't be reversed, which matters if something goes wrong. Cards are reversible in some cases, but a chargeback against a casino can close your account; see our chargebacks guide.

How to check whether a casino really takes PayPal

  1. Find the casino's official domain from a source you trust, and type it in yourself rather than following an ad or message.
  2. Open its banking or cashier page and look for PayPal by name in both the deposit and withdrawal lists.
  3. Read the casino's terms for its operator name and license, and check whether a US state regulator lists it.
  4. Ask live chat, in writing, whether PayPal is available to US players for deposits and withdrawals.
  5. Never pay a person by PayPal on a casino's behalf; legitimate deposits go through the casino's own cashier.
  6. If the answers don't line up, don't deposit.

Getting paid at partner casinos without PayPal

With no e-wallet available, partner payouts come by Bitcoin, bank wire or check. SlotoCash's banking page (opens in a new tab) lists Bitcoin from $100 with no fee, bank wire from $100 with a $50 fee and courier check from $150 with a $60 fee, each with a $2,500 maximum; its payout methods page lists different wire and check fees. Weekly caps apply at every partner, usually reported at $2,500.

Bitcoin is the one payout method every partner lists, but you need a wallet and an exchange to turn it into dollars. Our how to withdraw guide, withdrawal times and withdrawal fees pages compare the routes.

What cashing out costs at offshore casinos without PayPal

PayPal users are used to free, quick transfers to a bank. The routes offshore casinos use instead carry their own published fees, and they add up on a typical cashout. The table applies each partner’s fees to a $1,000 withdrawal.

Fees on a $1,000 cashout by route (published or reported)

SlotoCashFree$50 or $60$60 or $30Casino's own site (pages conflict)

Silver Oak$0–$40$0–$20$0–$25Casino's own site
Planet 7, Royal Ace, Slot MadnessNo fee reportedNo fee reportedNo fee reportedThird-party

On those numbers, Bitcoin is usually the cheapest way out, but you then pay your exchange to turn it into dollars, and the price can move in between. A wire or check costs up to $60 at the partners that publish fees, or 6% of a $1,000 payout. Silver Oak also lists Coindraw at a 5% fee, which is $50 on the same amount.

Fees also hit unplayed deposits. Silver Oak’s terms charge 8% (minimum $4) if a deposit wasn’t wagered at least once. Our withdrawal fees page lists every charge, our check by courier page covers the slowest route, and the crypto fees guide explains exchange costs.

PayPal, offshore casinos and the law where you live

Our partners are offshore casinos and not licensed by any US state. The Michigan Gaming Control Board has sent cease-and-desist letters naming several of them as illegal offshore operators: Planet 7 and Silver Oak on April 9, 2025, Slot Madness on August 14, 2025, and SlotoCash on October 8, 2026. With no state regulator, your protection is limited to the casino's own terms.

Whether playing is lawful for you depends on your state's law. Our page on offshore casino legality and the player protections comparison explain the difference a state license makes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use PayPal at online casinos in the US?

Not at our offshore partner casinos, none of which lists PayPal. Where an online casino is licensed by a state, its cashier page shows whether PayPal is offered, and only seven states license real-money online casinos. Check the operator against the state regulator's list first. Our answer to can I use PayPal at online casinos and our states with legal online casinos page explain more.

Why don't offshore casinos accept PayPal?

Mainly because of federal payment law and payment-company policy. UIGEA bars gambling businesses from accepting electronic transfers and similar payments in connection with unlawful internet gambling, and banks tag gambling with merchant code 7995. A regulated payment company has strong reasons to avoid casinos that no state licenses. Read our UIGEA explainer and the card declines page.

Is a casino that says it takes PayPal legit?

Check carefully before depositing. Confirm the site's official domain, look for PayPal in its own cashier, read its terms for a named operator and license, and see whether a state regulator lists it. A request to send PayPal to a person rather than through the cashier is a red flag. Our rogue casino checklist and mirror sites guide explain the warning signs.

What is the best alternative to PayPal at offshore casinos?

It depends on what you value. Bitcoin is listed by all our partners for deposits and payouts, but payments generally can't be reversed and prices move. Cards work for deposits only and may be declined or charged as cash advances. Wires and checks pay out in dollars with fees up to $60. See Bitcoin banking and how to deposit with Bitcoin.

Can I withdraw casino winnings to PayPal?

Not at our partners. They pay out mainly by Bitcoin, bank wire and courier check, with Coindraw at Silver Oak and Litecoin reported at Slot Madness. Minimums run from $20 to $150 depending on method and casino, and weekly caps, usually reported at $2,500, apply. Our how to withdraw guide and withdrawal limits page cover each route.

Can I use PayPal to buy Bitcoin for a casino deposit?

Check your own PayPal agreement first, because its rules on gambling-related use apply to you, not the casino's claims. If you buy Bitcoin anywhere, send it only to the deposit address shown in your casino cashier, test with a small amount, and remember the deposit can't be reversed. Our how to buy Bitcoin for casinos and crypto wallet setup guides walk through it.

Is it illegal to use an offshore casino if PayPal won't process it?

A payment refusal isn't itself a legal ruling on you. UIGEA targets payment processing for unlawful internet gambling and doesn't make placing a bet a federal crime for the player. Whether playing at an offshore casino is lawful depends on your state's law, which varies. Our answers on whether offshore play is illegal and offshore casino legality explain the position.

Does Miami Club Casino accept PayPal?

No. Miami Club’s own banking page lists Visa, Mastercard, several cryptocurrencies, CardPay, Neosurf and eZee Wallet for deposits, but not PayPal, and it pays out by Bitcoin, Ethereum, bank wire and courier check. Whether eZee Wallet works for US accounts isn’t stated. On eligibility, section 1.6 of its Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026) lists the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the casino’s affiliate program confirms US players are accepted, so confirm at sign-up. See Miami Club banking and our Miami Club review for limits and fees.

Can I use PayPal at online casinos in Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania is one of the seven states that license online casinos, so a PayPal search there should start with the state-licensed sites rather than offshore ones. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board listed 12 certificate holders and 25 authorized casino websites as of February 13, 2026, and each licensed site’s cashier shows which methods it takes. Players in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Allentown get state oversight and a regulator to complain to. Our offshore partners aren’t among those licensees. Read our Pennsylvania guide and can I play online casinos in Pennsylvania.

What should I do if I paid someone by PayPal for casino credits?

Treat it as a possible scam and act quickly, because a legitimate casino deposit goes through the casino’s own cashier, not to a person’s account. Contact PayPal through its dispute process, keep screenshots of the chat or messages, and don’t send more money to “release” credits or winnings. You can report fraud to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. If the site also asked for documents or passwords, change your passwords and turn on two-factor sign-in. Our person-to-person transfer page and account security guide explain the warning signs.

How long do withdrawals take at offshore casinos without PayPal?

Expect days to weeks rather than the near-instant transfers PayPal users are used to. SlotoCash’s pages say payouts are processed within 48 business hours, or two business days. Silver Oak’s terms set a review of 7–10 business days followed by 7–10 business days of payment, and Miami Club lists about 48 hours for Bitcoin. Third-party reviews report pending periods of 5–10 days at Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness, with no weekend cashouts. Compare routes on our withdrawal times page and pending withdrawals guide.

Can I use PayPal at sweepstakes casinos?

Sweepstakes casinos are a different model from the offshore partners on this page, and payment options vary by brand, so check the brand’s own cashier rather than an ad. They run on two currencies, Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins, and several states have banned the dual-currency model, including New York, New Jersey, California and, from November 1, 2026, Oklahoma. A brand’s payment list doesn’t change whether it is lawful where you live. Our sweepstakes vs real money casinos guide and sweepstakes casino bans page explain the rules.

Do I still pay tax on casino winnings that weren’t paid through PayPal?

Yes. Gambling winnings are taxable federal income however they are paid, whether by Bitcoin, wire, check or an app. For payments made in 2026, the IRS sets a $2,000 W-2G reporting threshold for slot, keno and bingo winnings, but smaller wins are still taxable. The 2025 federal tax law reportedly caps the loss deduction at 90% of losses from the 2026 tax year, so check IRS guidance. Because offshore payouts leave a patchy paper trail, keep your own log. See keeping gambling records and do I pay tax on casino winnings.

Is PayPal safer than Bitcoin for gambling payments?

Where PayPal is offered, mainly at state-licensed casinos, a regulated payment company and a state regulator both sit behind the transaction, which crypto at an offshore site doesn’t have. The FTC says crypto payments lack the legal protections of credit cards and generally can’t be reversed, and the CFPB found fraud and scams made up 40% of crypto complaints it received from 2018 to 2022. At our offshore partners PayPal isn’t an option, so the real choice is between crypto, cards, wires and checks. Read is Bitcoin safe for casinos and our crypto casino scams guide.
