Max cashout explained

Max cashout explained in one line: it's the most you can withdraw from winnings made with a bonus, and anything above that figure is removed when you cash out. This guide follows a capped bonus from claim to payout, shows the math in dollars and sets out the caps our partner casinos publish or third parties report.

Key takeaways

  • A max cashout limits what bonus play can pay out; the excess is removed, not saved for later.
  • Caps are written as a fixed dollar figure, a multiple of the bonus or deposit, or not at all.
  • No-deposit chips carry the tightest caps, such as $100 at Silver Oak and $200 for SlotoCash free bonuses.
  • A weekly withdrawal limit only slows a payout; a max cashout erases what sits above it.
  • Check the offer page and the general terms, and ask support in writing when they disagree.

Max cashout explained: what the cap actually limits

A max cashout (also written max withdrawal or win cap) is a ceiling on how much money you can take out after playing with a bonus. It is part of the bonus terms, so it only applies when you accept a promotion. Play with your own cash and no bonus, and no bonus cap applies, although the casino's normal withdrawal limits still do.

The cap is checked when you request a withdrawal, not while you play. Your balance can climb well past the limit during a lucky session, and nothing visible changes until you ask to cash out. At that point the casino pays up to the cap and removes the rest from the account.

That timing is why the rule surprises people. A $25 chip that turns into $600 looks like a $600 win on screen, but if the terms cap no-deposit winnings at $100, $100 is the most that can leave the account. Our glossary entry on max cashout gives the short definition; this guide covers how the rule plays out in practice.

The cap is a bonus rule. It is different from a weekly or monthly withdrawal limit, which caps how fast any balance is paid, bonus or not.

How a max cashout plays out from claim to payout

Every capped bonus follows roughly the same path. Knowing the order of events helps you spot the moment the cap bites and the checks that come before it.

  1. You claim the bonus with a code or by opting in, and the bonus terms, including any max cashout, attach to your balance.
  2. You play eligible games until the wagering requirement is met. Bets on excluded games or above the max bet can void winnings before the cap ever matters.
  3. Once wagering is complete, the balance becomes eligible for withdrawal, subject to the casino's minimum withdrawal amount.
  4. You request a withdrawal. The casino compares the amount you've won from the bonus with the cap and removes anything above it.
  5. Identity checks run before the first payout. Silver Oak's terms say withdrawals are blocked until verification is complete, and SlotoCash asks for photo ID and a utility bill.
  6. The approved amount is paid out within the casino's weekly or monthly withdrawal limits, which can split a large sum across several weeks.

Steps 4 and 6 are where most confusion starts. The cap removes money permanently at step 4. The withdrawal limit at step 6 only delays money you're entitled to. Our guide to how to withdraw from an online casino covers the payout stage in more detail.

Three ways casinos write a max cashout

Partner terms and third-party listings show three basic styles. The style matters because a multiple scales with what you put in, while a fixed figure doesn't.

Max cashout styles with partner examples
StyleHow it readsPartner exampleSource type

Multiple of the deposit"10x deposit amount"Royal Ace welcome bonusThird-party listing
No cap"No max cashout"SlotoCash welcome package; Silver Oak welcome package ("no max withdrawal")Casino's own pages

Silver Oak's general terms describe the no-deposit limit as 1x the bonus with a $100 minimum. For its $25, $50 and $100 chips, both readings come to $100, so the no-deposit page (opens in a new tab) and the terms agree on the figure. Codes like these change, so check the current list before you rely on one.

A multiple of the bonus works like a multiple of the deposit, but it grows with the bonus amount instead. Where the base isn't stated, as with a bare "10x max cashout", ask support which figure it multiplies before you play.

Max cashout in dollars: four worked scenarios

The examples below use published or reported terms and plain arithmetic. Results at the end of wagering are illustrative; most bonus balances end lower than they start because of the house edge.

What a cap removes in four scenarios
ScenarioTerms usedBalance after wageringWithdrawableRemoved
$25 no-deposit chip at Silver Oak30x wagering ($750), $100 cap$340$100$240
Same chip, smaller result30x wagering, $100 cap$70$70$0
Planet 7: $100 deposit + $200 bonus (200%)30x (bonus + deposit) = $9,000, $1,000 cap (reported)$1,800$1,000$800
Royal Ace: $100 deposit + $200 bonus (200%)30x (bonus + deposit) = $9,000, cap 10x deposit = $1,000 (reported)$2,600$1,000$1,600

Two points stand out. First, when the balance finishes under the cap, as in the second row, the cap costs nothing. Second, the terms we have don't say whether the cap includes your own deposit. In the Planet 7 row, a cap that excludes the $100 deposit would let $1,100 out, not $1,000. That's a question to put to support in writing before you deposit.

Minimum withdrawals matter too. Third-party listings give Planet 7's minimum as $50 or $100, and Silver Oak's banking page lists $50 for Bitcoin and $100 for a check or bank wire. A capped balance that lands under the minimum can't be withdrawn at all until it grows.

How a cap changes what a bonus is worth

To judge a capped bonus, start with its expected cost. Expected loss is total stake multiplied by the house edge. In the Planet 7 example, $9,000 of wagering on a slot with a reported 96.25% RTP, such as Sweet 16, has a 3.75% edge: $9,000 × 0.0375 = $337.50 expected loss.

Set that against the $200 bonus and the average outcome is $200 − $337.50 = −$137.50 before the cap is even considered. The cap then trims the rare good results, the sessions that end with $1,800 or $2,600, which are the only ones that make the bonus pay. So a cap makes an already-negative average a little worse, and it hits hardest on high-volatility slots, where outcomes are lumpy.

None of this means a bonus is pointless. It means a bonus buys extra playing time with conditions attached, not extra money. Our guide to the expected value of a bonus walks through the full formula, and slot volatility explained covers why big swings meet caps more often.

Max cashout vs weekly withdrawal limits

A no-cap bonus doesn't mean a large win arrives at once. Every partner also has withdrawal limits, and they apply to all balances. The table shows what the casinos publish or reviewers report.

Miami Club's Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026, section 1.6) list the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted. Confirm your eligibility at sign-up.

Here's how the two rules combine. Say you clear Silver Oak's welcome bonus, which its offer page says has no max withdrawal, and finish with $6,000. The cap removes nothing, but at $2,500 a week the payout arrives as $2,500, $2,500 and $1,000 over three weeks, and Silver Oak's terms add a review period of 7–10 business days plus 7–10 business days for payment.

Silver Oak's monthly rule is unusual: the terms set $5,000 when your balance is at least 10x your total deposits, and $10,000 otherwise, so a big win relative to deposits gets the lower monthly figure. Read more in our guide to weekly withdrawal limits.

How to find the max cashout before you claim

The cap can sit in three places: the promotion page, the bonus terms and the general terms and conditions. Check all three, because they don't always match.

  1. Open the promotion page for the exact offer and note any line about max cashout, max withdrawal or winnings limits.
  2. Open the bonus terms. SlotoCash, for example, keeps a separate bonus terms page (opens in a new tab) with welcome rules and general rules side by side.
  3. Search the general terms for the words "max", "cashout", "withdraw" and "free". No-deposit rules often live there rather than on the offer page.
  4. Work out the base: a fixed dollar figure, a multiple of the bonus or a multiple of the deposit.
  5. Note the dates and save a copy of the page, since terms change without notice.
  6. If anything is unclear, ask live chat to confirm the cap for your specific code and keep the transcript.

Our guide on how to read casino terms covers the rest of the clauses worth checking, and the bonus terms red flags page lists warning signs.

When max cashout terms conflict

Conflicting caps are common, and the published record for our partners shows several. Where sources disagree, treat the lower cap as possible until the casino confirms otherwise in writing.

  • SlotoCash: the welcome package is described as having no max cashout, while the general terms cap free bonuses at $200. The two apply to different bonus types, so check which one your code belongs to.
  • Planet 7: one third-party listing reports a $1,000 cap on the welcome bonus, while another review doesn't state one. Planet 7's own terms couldn't be confirmed.
  • Royal Ace: one listing reports 200% up to $4,000 with a cap of 10x the deposit, while another describes 250% up to $2,500 with 35 spins and no wagering shown.
  • Slot Madness: one listing gives the MAD275 bonus a $2,750 maximum and no cap on cashouts, while another calls it unlimited.

The package via our links can also differ from what a casino's own site advertises. The terms shown when you sign up are the ones that apply, so read them on the day.

Troubleshooting: winnings over the cap or removed

If your withdrawal came back smaller than your balance, work through these possibilities in order.

  • The cap was applied: compare the amount paid with the cap in your bonus terms. This is the most common cause and usually isn't reversible.
  • Winnings were voided for an excluded game: SlotoCash's welcome terms say play on games outside slots, keno and scratch cards voids promotion winnings.
  • A max bet was exceeded: SlotoCash sets $10 per spin while a bonus is active, and third-party reviewers report a disputed max-bet case at Decode.
  • A fee was charged: Silver Oak's terms set an 8% fee (minimum $4) if a deposit wasn't wagered at least once, plus method fees up to $40 or 5%.
  • The withdrawal was split: a weekly limit may have paid part now and part later.

Disputes have short windows. SlotoCash's terms ask for disputes within 14 days, and Silver Oak's within 3 days of the wager. Our guides to filing a casino complaint and casino ADR and complaints explain what to send.

At the casinos covered here, the cap is whatever the casino writes. Our partners are offshore casinos: none is licensed or regulated by any US state, so there's no state regulator to appeal a cap to and no state-backed protection for your balance. Only Silver Oak publishes a license, from Anjouan, under its operator Primrose Media Limited.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board named Silver Oak and Planet 7 in its April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release (opens in a new tab), describing them as illegal offshore operators. Michigan is one of seven states, with New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island, that license real-money online casinos; see states with legal online casinos.

Whether you can legally play at an offshore site depends on your state's law, not on the casino's terms. Our page on player protections offshore vs licensed sets out what changes when a state regulator is involved.

Frequently asked questions

What does a $100 max cashout mean on a Silver Oak no-deposit chip?

It means $100 is the most you can withdraw from winnings made with that chip. The casino applies the cap when you request a withdrawal and removes anything above it. For example, Silver Oak's no-deposit chips carry a $100 cap, so a $340 balance would pay $100. Caps only apply when you accept a bonus. Our glossary definition gives the short version, and the what is max cashout answer adds more examples.

Does the max cashout include my deposit?

It depends on the wording, and many terms don't say. A cap of "10x deposit" sets the limit using your deposit, but whether your own deposit counts toward the limit is a separate question. The partner terms we've reviewed don't state it either way. Ask live chat before you deposit and keep the transcript. Our guide to reading casino terms shows where to look.

Is a max cashout the same as SlotoCash's weekly withdrawal limit?

No. The cashout cap removes bonus winnings above a set figure, while a withdrawal limit only controls how much is paid per week or month. At SlotoCash, the terms set $5,000 a week and $20,000 a month for all balances. A $12,000 balance from a no-cap bonus would be paid over three weeks, not cut. See our page on casino withdrawal limits for each partner's figures.

What happens to winnings over the max cashout?

They're removed from your account when the withdrawal is processed. They don't carry over to a later withdrawal and can't usually be played with afterwards. If you think the casino applied the wrong cap, quote the clause from the terms that applied on the day you claimed, and raise it within the dispute window. SlotoCash's terms allow 14 days. Our complaint guide covers the next steps.

Do no-deposit bonuses always have a max cashout?

In the partner terms we've seen, yes. Silver Oak caps its no-deposit chips at $100, and SlotoCash's general terms set a $25 minimum and $200 maximum cashout on free bonuses. Third-party reviews report a $100 cap on a Planet 7 free chip. A small chip with a tight cap is mostly a way to try the games. Compare offers on our no deposit bonus page.

Do the SlotoCash and Silver Oak welcome bonuses have a max cashout?

No, according to the casinos' own pages, SlotoCash's five-deposit welcome package and Silver Oak's ten-deposit package have no max cashout. Third-party reviews report the same for Slot Madness's MAD275 offer, though sources differ on its size. The packages via our links may differ from these, so check the terms at sign-up. Withdrawal limits still apply, as our weekly withdrawal limits guide explains.

Can I avoid a max cashout at Silver Oak by playing without a bonus?

Yes. The cap is a bonus term, so it doesn't apply if you decline the promotion. You'll still face the casino's withdrawal limits and fees. Note that Silver Oak's terms charge an 8% fee (minimum $4) if a deposit isn't wagered at least once before withdrawal. Our bonus vs no bonus page weighs the trade-off.

Is a 10x max cashout a good term?

It's middling. A cap of 10x a $100 deposit allows $1,000 out, which covers most realistic results from a 30x wagering requirement but cuts off the rare large win. Compare that with a fixed $100 cap, which limits almost every good result, or no cap at all. Always check the base: 10x the bonus and 10x the deposit give different numbers. Our comparing casino bonuses guide helps.

How do I calculate the max cashout on a deposit bonus?

Multiply the stated base by the multiple, or read the fixed dollar figure straight from the terms. Royal Ace's welcome bonus is reported with a cap of 10x the deposit, so a $50 deposit allows $500 out and a $100 deposit allows $1,000. A fixed cap, such as the $1,000 reported for Planet 7's welcome bonus, stays the same whatever you deposit. If the terms say only "10x" without naming the base, ask support whether it means the deposit or the bonus, because the figures differ. Our max cashout rules page has more examples, and the deposit match explainer shows how bonus sizes are set.

Does max cashout apply to free spins winnings?

Often yes, because free spins are a bonus and their winnings usually come with the same kind of conditions as a bonus balance. The partner terms on this page publish caps for no-deposit chips and some welcome bonuses, but they don't set out a separate free-spins cap for each offer, so check the terms attached to the spins you claim. Spins via our links can carry different rules from those on a casino's own site, and the terms shown at sign-up apply. Our page on free spins winnings explains how spin winnings turn into a withdrawable balance, and how free spins work covers the basics.

Can a casino change the max cashout after I claim a bonus?

A casino can change its terms, and offshore casinos set their own rules, so save the terms that applied on the day you claimed. Terms on partner sites change without notice, which is why this guide suggests a copy or screenshot of the promotion page and the bonus terms. If a later withdrawal is cut by a cap you didn't agree to, quote the saved wording and raise it within the dispute window: 14 days in SlotoCash's terms and 3 days from the wager in Silver Oak's. No US state regulator oversees these sites. See how to complain about an online casino and our casino red flags list.

Is the max cashout different for Bitcoin withdrawals?

No, the bonus cap is a limit on bonus winnings, so it applies the same way whichever withdrawal method you pick. The method changes other things: minimums, fees and how fast the money arrives. Silver Oak's banking page, for example, lists a $50 minimum for Bitcoin against $100 for a check or bank wire, so a small capped balance may be withdrawable by Bitcoin but not by wire. Method fees can also come off the amount the cap leaves you. Our Bitcoin banking page covers crypto payouts, and casino withdrawal fees lists what the partners publish.

Do I pay tax on winnings I withdraw under a max cashout?

Yes, gambling winnings are taxable federal income, whether or not a bonus cap applied, and the amount you actually win is what counts. Form W-2G is filed by payers when slot, keno or bingo winnings reach $2,000 or more for 2026, but the partners don't publish whether they issue one, and winnings are reportable either way. From the 2026 tax year, the loss deduction is reported to be capped at 90% of losses and only up to your winnings, so check IRS guidance. Keep a record of deposits and withdrawals. See gambling taxes and our guide to keeping gambling records.
