Comparing casino bonuses like for like

Comparing casino bonuses only works when you put every offer on the same deposit and turn its terms into dollars. A 275% match and a 100% match look worlds apart until you price the wagering, the cap and the games. This guide gives you the method, then runs it on all seven partner offers at a $200 deposit.

Key takeaways

  • Compare bonuses on one deposit size, never on headline percentages.
  • Total wagering times the house edge gives the expected cost of clearing a bonus.
  • At a 3.75% house edge, every partner welcome bonus costs more to clear, on average, than it adds.
  • A max cashout cap can matter more than the match size.
  • Free spins rarely publish a value, so treat them as a small extra with conditions.

Comparing casino bonuses: the five numbers that matter

Headline offers are built to be compared on the wrong thing. To compare them on the right thing, pull five numbers out of each set of terms. Everything else is detail. These casino guides use the same five numbers throughout.

Five numbers for comparing casino bonuses
NumberWhere to find itWhat it tells you
Wagering multiple and basisBonus terms: "30x (deposit + bonus)"How much you must bet before cashing out
Max cashoutBonus terms or general termsThe most you can withdraw from bonus play
Eligible games and weightingBonus termsWhich bets count, and how much
Max betBonus termsThe largest stake allowed while the bonus is active
ExpiryBonus or general termsHow long you have to finish the wagering

The basis matters as much as the multiple. A 30x requirement on the bonus alone is far smaller than 30x on deposit plus bonus. Our guide to wagering requirements shows both versions.

Headline offer vs published package: why the numbers differ

Before comparing anything, know which offer you're looking at. Our links carry headline offers supplied by the site owner, and the casinos' own pages often advertise something else. The terms shown at sign-up are the ones that apply.

Miami Club needs a note of its own. Its Terms of Use (version 2.1, September 28, 2026) list the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction in section 1.6, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted, so confirm your eligibility at sign-up. It runs WGS (Wager Gaming) software rather than RTG. Our Miami Club review covers both points in full.

How to compare casino bonuses on the same deposit

Pick the amount you'd actually deposit and run every offer through it. That removes the distortion of "up to" figures most players never reach. Then apply two formulas.

  • Total wagering = wagering basis × multiple. On "deposit + bonus", the basis is your deposit plus the bonus.
  • Expected loss while clearing = total wagering × house edge.

We use a 3.75% house edge, from the 96.25% RTP that third parties list for RTG's Sweet 16. Your games may differ, so swap in your own figure. A final number, expected loss per $1 of bonus, makes offers of different sizes comparable: below $1 means the bonus outweighs its average cost, above $1 means it doesn't. Our bonus value method walks through the same steps.

Comparing casino bonuses at a $200 deposit: worked numbers

Here are all seven partners at a $200 first deposit, using the terms each source gives. Where sources disagree, both versions appear. The arithmetic is shown so you can check it.

Partner welcome terms priced at a $200 deposit and 3.75% house edge
Casino (source)BonusTotal wageringExpected lossLoss per $1 of bonus
SlotoCash 200%, 25x d+b (own terms)$400$600 × 25 = $15,000$562.50$1.41
Miami Club 100% up to $100, 20x d+b (own terms)$100$300 × 20 = $6,000$225.00$2.25
Decode 111%, 25x d+b (third-party)$222$422 × 25 = $10,550$395.63$1.78
Silver Oak 100%, 30x (offer page)$200$400 × 30 = $12,000$450.00$2.25
Silver Oak 100%, 40x (terms)$200$400 × 40 = $16,000$600.00$3.00
Planet 7 200%, 30x d+b (third-party)$400$600 × 30 = $18,000$675.00$1.69
Royal Ace 200%, 30x d+b (third-party)$400$600 × 30 = $18,000$675.00$1.69
Slot Madness 275%, 30x d+b (third-party)$550$750 × 30 = $22,500$843.75$1.53

Silver Oak's pages don't say whether the multiple applies to the bonus or to deposit plus bonus; we've assumed the larger basis, so its figures may be lower in practice. Decode's 111% figure comes from a third-party listing of the code DECODE111, and codes change. Planet 7's 200% offer has no published maximum, so the full $400 is assumed.

What a bonus comparison shows: bigger matches carry bigger bills

Every loss-per-dollar figure in the table is above $1. At a 3.75% edge, the average player gives back more than the bonus while clearing it. SlotoCash comes out lowest at $1.41, helped by its 25x multiple. Silver Oak's 40x version is highest at $3.00.

A bigger match adds more wagering in step. Slot Madness's 275% gives the largest bonus, $550, but also the largest bill, $843.75. Miami Club has the lowest multiple, 20x, yet its $100 cap per deposit pushes its per-dollar cost up at $200; at a $100 deposit it would be $1.50. That's why the deposit size has to be fixed before you compare. Our match bonus explainer shows how percentages scale.

These are averages over the full wagering. Any single session can end well above or well below them, and losing the whole deposit is common. A bonus adds playing time with conditions; it doesn't change the house edge.

Max cashout caps: the number that can cancel a big match

A cap limits what you can withdraw from bonus play, however well a session goes. Third-party listings say Royal Ace caps welcome winnings at 10x the deposit, which is $2,000 on a $200 deposit, and Planet 7 at $1,000. SlotoCash's own pages say no max cashout, Silver Oak's offer page says no max withdrawal and Slot Madness is reported as having none.

Caps on no-deposit offers are tighter still. SlotoCash's general terms cap free-bonus cashouts at $200, Silver Oak caps its no-deposit chips at $100, and Miami Club gives two figures, 5x the bonus in its bonus terms and $150 in its Terms of Use. Our guide to max cashout rules shows how to price a cap into the comparison.

Eligible games, weighting and max bets compared

Two bonuses with the same multiple can play very differently if their game rules differ. Bonuses are built for slots, and table games are often excluded or weighted lower.

Royal Ace30x slots; 60x blackjack and video pokerNot publishedThird-party
Slot MadnessSlots and kenoNot publishedThird-party

Weighting multiplies the work. At Miami Club's 5% for blackjack, $6,000 of required wagering would take $120,000 of blackjack bets. Breaking a max bet rule can void a bonus outright, so set your stake below it. Our page on bonus game weighting has more examples.

One-deposit vs multi-deposit welcome bonuses

Large "up to" figures usually spread across several deposits. SlotoCash's published package covers five deposits, Miami Club's eight and Silver Oak's ten. To reach the headline, you'd need to deposit, wager and repeat each step.

Order rules add friction. SlotoCash's terms say bonuses must be claimed in order with deposits one to five, and coupons redeemed before or right after a deposit and before any wager. When comparing a multi-deposit package with a single match, price only the deposits you'd really make, not the full ladder.

Comparing free spins and bonus games in welcome offers

Spins are the hardest part to compare, because casinos rarely publish a spin value. SlotoCash's own pages name 100 spins on Charms of the Forest for the first deposit, though its homepage FAQ names Cleopatra's Gold instead. Miami Club's published welcome package includes no free spins, while the offer via our link adds 285 Bonus Games. Silver Oak's published package also lists none.

Without a stated value per spin, treat spins as a small extra, and expect wagering and caps on their winnings. Our guide to free spins explains the usual conditions.

A step-by-step method for comparing casino bonuses

  1. Choose the deposit you'd actually make, such as $100 or $200.
  2. For each offer, write down the match, any per-deposit cap, the multiple and its basis.
  3. Work out the bonus and the total wagering on that deposit.
  4. Multiply total wagering by a house edge to get expected loss, then divide by the bonus.
  5. Note the max cashout and compare it with the balance you'd hope to withdraw.
  6. Check eligible games, weighting and the max bet against how you like to play.
  7. Check the weekly withdrawal cap, since it sets how fast any win is paid.
  8. Rank the offers on expected loss per dollar and cap, not on the headline.

When skipping the bonus wins the comparison

Declining is always one of the options you're comparing. Without a bonus there's no max bet rule, no excluded games and no cashout cap, though some casinos still ask you to wager a deposit before withdrawing; Silver Oak charges 8% if a deposit wasn't wagered once. Our page on bonus vs no bonus sets out when declining makes sense.

The legal picture belongs in any comparison too. Every partner here is an offshore casino that no US state licenses or regulates, so there's no state regulator behind the bonus terms. Read whether offshore casinos are legal and check your state's law first. Treat any bonus as entertainment with conditions, and if play stops feeling affordable, the National Problem Gambling Helpline at NCPG (opens in a new tab) is there by call or text at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738).

Frequently asked questions

What's the best way to compare casino bonuses?

The best way is to price every offer on the same deposit. Work out the bonus, multiply the wagering basis by the multiple, then multiply by a house edge to get the expected cost of clearing. Add the max cashout and game rules, and ignore the headline "up to" figure. Our welcome bonus guide explains each term you'll meet along the way.

When comparing casino bonuses, is a bigger match percentage better?

No, a bigger match usually means more wagering, because the requirement grows with the bonus. At a $200 deposit, a reported 275% match needs $22,500 of wagering at 30x deposit plus bonus, against $15,000 for a 200% match at 25x. Compare the cost per dollar of bonus, not the percentage. Our answer on what a 300% bonus means shows the math.

What does "deposit + bonus" wagering mean?

It means the multiple applies to your deposit and the bonus added together. A $200 deposit with a $400 bonus at 25x deposit plus bonus needs $15,000 of wagering, while 25x on the bonus alone would need $10,000. Always check which basis the terms use before comparing offers. Our page on which games count toward wagering covers the other half of the rule.

How much does a max cashout cap matter?

A cap matters most when it's low next to the bonus. Third-party listings report Royal Ace capping welcome winnings at 10x the deposit and Planet 7 at $1,000, while SlotoCash's own pages say there's no cap. On a small deposit, a cap can turn a large win into a modest payout. Read what max cashout means before you claim.

Can I compare free spins between casinos?

Only roughly, because casinos rarely publish a value per spin. Note the number of spins, the game, and any wagering or cap on spin winnings, then treat them as a small extra. SlotoCash names its spin games, but even its own pages disagree on one of them. Our explainer on how free spins work covers the usual conditions.

Are no-deposit bonuses worth comparing with deposit bonuses?

They're worth comparing, but expect much tighter caps. SlotoCash caps free-bonus cashouts at $200, Silver Oak's no-deposit chips cap at $100, and Miami Club lists 5x the bonus in one place and $150 in another. A no-deposit offer costs nothing to try but rarely pays much. Our no-deposit bonus guide has the details.

Which partner bonus has the lowest wagering?

Miami Club publishes the lowest multiple, 20x deposit plus bonus, on bonuses at or below a 100% match, with no expiry. Its $100 cap per deposit limits the bonus size, though, and its Terms of Use list the US as prohibited in section 1.6 while its affiliate program confirms US players, so confirm at sign-up. See our list of low-wagering casinos for context.

When comparing casino bonuses, should skipping the bonus be an option?

Yes, declining is often the better choice if you want simple withdrawals or prefer table games. A bonus adds wagering, max bet rules and sometimes a cap. Some casinos still ask you to wager a deposit once before withdrawing, so check that rule too. If you do claim one, set a budget first, as our gambling budget guide explains.

How does game weighting change a casino bonus comparison?

Game weighting can multiply the real wagering many times over, so two bonuses with the same multiple can differ hugely for table-game players. Miami Club's bonus terms count slots, keno and scratch cards at 100%, video poker at 10% and blackjack at 5%, and don't allow roulette. At 5%, $6,000 of required wagering would take $120,000 of blackjack bets. SlotoCash goes further and says play on games outside its eligible list voids promotion winnings. If you prefer table games, compare offers on their weighting first. Our guides to game weighting and the best bonus for blackjack explain the effect.

Is the SlotoCash or Slot Madness bonus better value?

On the method in this guide, SlotoCash's own terms come out slightly cheaper to clear than Slot Madness's reported terms. At a $200 deposit, SlotoCash's 200% match at 25x deposit plus bonus has an expected cost of $1.41 per $1 of bonus, against $1.53 for Slot Madness's reported 275% at 30x. Slot Madness gives the larger bonus, $550 against $400, and neither is reported to carry a max cashout. SlotoCash's figures come from its own pages, while Slot Madness's come from third parties. Via our links the headlines differ again, so check sign-up terms. See SlotoCash vs Slot Madness and the SlotoCash welcome bonus.

How should I compare bonus expiry dates?

Compare expiry against the total wagering, because a short deadline on a large requirement can force bigger bets or longer sessions than you'd choose. SlotoCash's general terms set a 90-day validity, while Miami Club's bonus terms list no expiry on its deposit bonuses. Work out how much you'd need to wager per day to finish in time: $15,000 over 90 days is about $167 a day. If that's more than you'd normally play, the bonus is likely to expire or push you past your budget. Our guides to bonus expiry and how to read casino terms cover the rules.

Do bonus codes matter when comparing casino bonuses?

Codes matter only as a way to claim an offer; compare the terms attached to the code, not the code itself. Third-party listings report codes such as WELCOME200 at Planet 7 and DECODE111 at Decode, and Silver Oak's own pages list SILVEROAK1 to SILVEROAK10 for its ten-deposit package. Codes change, and unofficial mirror sites often post codes the casino doesn't use. The terms shown at sign-up are the ones that apply. Our pages on bonus codes that work and expired bonus codes explain how to check.

Should weekly withdrawal limits affect which casino bonus I pick?

Yes, because a weekly cap decides how fast any bonus win is actually paid. SlotoCash's banking page lists $5,000 a week and $20,000 a month, while third-party reviews report $2,500 a week at Royal Ace and Slot Madness. A $10,000 win would take two weeks at SlotoCash's cap and four at $2,500, with fees possibly charged on each payment. A no-max-cashout bonus is worth less if the cashier only releases small installments. Add the cap to your comparison table next to the max cashout. See our guides to weekly withdrawal limits and withdrawal limits.

Is a multi-deposit welcome package better than a single match bonus?

Not necessarily: a multi-deposit package only beats a single match if you'd really make all those deposits, and each step adds its own wagering. SlotoCash's published package covers five deposits, Miami Club's eight and Silver Oak's ten. SlotoCash's terms also say bonuses must be claimed in order, with coupons redeemed before or right after a deposit and before any wager. Price only the deposits you'd make anyway, then compare cost per dollar of bonus. The full "up to" figure is rarely reached. See our pages on the second deposit bonus and the welcome bonus.
