Silver Oak vs Red Dog is closer than most matchups: both cite Anjouan licenses, both were named in the same Michigan cease-and-desist release, and both limit withdrawals at $2,500. The differences sit in the details. Red Dog publishes a license number and lower deposit minimums; Silver Oak names RealTime Gaming and states no max withdrawal on its welcome match.
Both casinos cite Anjouan licenses; only Red Dog publishes a license number (ALSI-122310020-F16).
Michigan's gaming board named both in its April 9, 2025 release on 13 unlicensed operators.
Red Dog's welcome uses 40x on deposit plus bonus, a $10 max bet and a max payout of 30 times the deposit.
Red Dog caps each payout at $2,500 with a $150 minimum; Silver Oak caps the week at $2,500.
Neither casino is licensed or regulated by any US state.

Silver Oak vs Red Dog: the bottom line
For RealTime Gaming slots and a welcome match with no stated max withdrawal, Silver Oak Casino has the edge. For low deposit minimums, a wider crypto list and a license number you can quote, Red Dog Casino publishes more. Neither offers what a state-licensed casino would: a US regulator, state-audited games and protected balances.
One small point of confusion: Red Dog the casino has nothing to do with red dog the card game, a table game that appears in RealTime Gaming's catalog. This page is about the casino brand.
Silver Oak is one of our partners and we earn a commission on sign-ups through our link. Partners are listed in a commercial order, not by test results. Red Dog isn't a partner.
What Silver Oak and Red Dog have in common
Few comparisons on this site line up so closely. Both casinos say in their terms that they are licensed by Anjouan, one of the islands of the Union of the Comoros. Both were named on the same day by the same US regulator. And both stop withdrawals at $2,500, although they measure that limit differently.
License: Anjouan for both, according to each casino's own terms.
Michigan: both named in the April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release.
Withdrawal ceiling: $2,500 per payout at Red Dog; $2,500 a week (as a starting level) at Silver Oak.
Bonus focus: both welcome offers are aimed at slots, with table games restricted.
US status: offshore; no state license or state regulator.

The Silver Oak terms and conditions (opens in a new tab) name Primrose Media Limited, registration number 15804, of Hamchako, Mutsamudu, and cite the Computer Gaming Licensing Act 007 of 2005. No license number appears. Other sources muddy the picture: Silver Oak's FAQ says only that it is "completely licensed", and one review site lists no license while its write-up mentions Costa Rica.
The Red Dog terms name Wonder Play Company N.V., registration number 162233, at Zuikertuintjeweg (Zuikertuin Tower), and give a specific license from the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan: ALSI-122310020-F16. A published number is more than many offshore casinos offer, though it doesn't bring US-style oversight.
The April 2025 Michigan action against both casinos
The Michigan Gaming Control Board's April 9, 2025 release (opens in a new tab) announced cease-and-desist letters to 13 unlicensed operators it said were targeting state residents. Silver Oak and Red Dog were both on it, along with Silver Oak's sister brand Planet 7. The board calls these illegal offshore operators. Our cease-and-desist explainer covers what such letters do and don't do.
Michigan is now excluded in Red Dog's terms, together with Kansas. Silver Oak's terms list no US states at all. Michigan licenses its own online casinos, and our Michigan page explains the state's licensed market and why we don't show offers to Michigan readers.
Red Dog vs Silver Oak bonus terms
Red Dog's welcome page headlines "Up to $8000 Welcome Offer", usable four times. Wagering is 40x the deposit plus bonus, to be met within 30 days, with a $10 maximum bet and a maximum payout of 30 times the deposit. The same page also mentions an "up to $2450 Slots Bonus", and no match percentage is stated, so check the cashier for the exact rate.
Silver Oak through our link offers a $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). On its own site, the casino shows a $10,000 package of 100% matches on each of the first ten deposits (codes SILVEROAK1 to SILVEROAK10), with no free spins. Its offer page says 30x, its terms say 40x for slots and 60x for table games and video poker, and the offer page states "no max withdrawal". Expiry isn't published.
Silver Oak's terms exclude baccarat, craps, roulette, sic bo, pai gow poker, Pontoon 21, War, live dealer games and progressives from bonus play. More on Red Dog's offer is on our Red Dog bonus page, and on Silver Oak's on the Silver Oak welcome bonus page.
Wagering and max payout in dollars
Red Dog's max payout rule is easy to model, because it's tied to your deposit: 30 × deposit. Its match rate isn't published, so the wagering rows below assume, for illustration only, a bonus equal to the deposit. Silver Oak's rows use its terms' 40x on the bonus alone; if wagering applies to deposit plus bonus, double the stake.

Take a slot with a 96.25% RTP (a third-party figure for RTG's Storm Lords), so a 3.75% house edge. A $100 deposit on Red Dog's illustrated terms then implies an expected loss of about $300 while wagering $8,000; Silver Oak's $4,000 implies about $150. Those are averages, not predictions, and they show why a bonus rarely adds as much as its headline. Our wagering requirements page and max cashout explainer go further.
Silver Oak vs Red Dog deposits and withdrawals
Red Dog sets low entry points: $10 by Neosurf, $20 by BTC, LTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, DOGE or Flexepin, $30 by card and $40 by USDT. Silver Oak's banking page (opens in a new tab) starts at $30 for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and cards (cards carry a 3–10% fee and a $1,000 top limit), with Changelly from $60. See our Neosurf guide and minimum deposits page.
Cashing out is where the $2,500 figures differ. Red Dog's terms cap each payout at $2,500, set a $150 minimum and give 2–3 business days for ID approval; its payout times aren't published. Silver Oak's limit is weekly, starting at $2,500 and rising with VIP level, with a monthly limit of $5,000 or $10,000 depending on your balance. Its terms allow 7–10 business days for review and 7–10 more for payment.
Silver Oak's VIP program page (opens in a new tab) lists five tiers, from Silver to Elite, with higher withdrawal limits and priority payments from Platinum. Its terms also charge 8% (minimum $4) on a withdrawal if the deposit wasn't wagered once. Our withdrawal limits page compares caps across partners.
Software and games at each casino
Silver Oak names RealTime Gaming on its mobile page, and a review site adds Spinlogic Gaming. Named titles include Cash Bandits 3, Storm Lords, T-Rex II, Magic Mushroom, 777, Vegas Lux, 5 Wishes and Fortunate Zeus. Live dealer games aren't mentioned. Our Cash Bandits 3 review is a good example of the RTG style.
The casino's terms describe only "reputable multiplatform game software based on modern RNG" and don't name a provider. Without a named studio, check its lobby for the games you want before depositing.
How to decide between them in five steps
Confirm your state. Red Dog refuses Kansas and Michigan, and Michigan's regulator has acted against both casinos; read your state's rules on our states hub.
Choose a payment method. Neosurf from $10 is only listed at Red Dog; Bitcoin works at both.
Model the bonus. Multiply the wagering by the amount it applies to, and for Red Dog note the 30x-deposit payout cap and $10 max bet.
Plan your cashout. Red Dog needs $150 to withdraw; Silver Oak's weekly limit spreads large wins over several weeks.
Set limits before you play: a deposit cap, a time limit and a point at which you stop.
Support and responsible gambling
Silver Oak lists email support (help@silveroakmail.com, replies within 48 hours), 24/7 help per its FAQ and live chat. Its tools include deposit limits, cool-off periods, self-exclusion through live chat, temporary self-bans and permanent closure. Red Dog's support and tools aren't covered in the terms we reviewed.
If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, the National Council on Problem Gambling (opens in a new tab) runs the national helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), by call, text or chat. Blocking software such as Gamban and BetBlocker can also help.
Who should choose Silver Oak, and who Red Dog
RTG slot players: Silver Oak names its software and titles; Red Dog doesn't.
Low-budget depositors: Red Dog's $10 Neosurf and $20 crypto minimums are lower than Silver Oak's $30.
Altcoin users: Red Dog lists BNB, XRP, DOGE and USDT; Silver Oak pays out only in Bitcoin.
Bonus players chasing a big win: Silver Oak's offer page states no max withdrawal on the match; Red Dog caps payouts at 30x the deposit.
Kansas and Michigan residents: Red Dog excludes you, and Michigan has acted against Silver Oak too.
Only Silver Oak has an offer here, because Red Dog isn't a partner. Silver Oak is offshore and isn't licensed or regulated by any US state, so check your state's law before you sign up. Without a state license, there's no state regulator for complaints and no state protection of your balance.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's offer page lists 30x playthrough (60x blackjack and video poker) and "no max withdrawal", while its terms list 40x for slots and 60x for table games and video poker; these primary sources conflict. Deposits start at $30.
Because the casino's own site shows a different package from our link, the terms you see at sign-up apply. Free spins and match money are for slots. The house edge works against you while you wager, so expect losses over time and play only with money set aside for fun.

Frequently asked questions
Is Silver Oak better than Red Dog Casino?
For RTG slots and a welcome match without a stated max withdrawal, Silver Oak is the better fit. For low minimum deposits, more crypto choices and a published license number, Red Dog shows more. Both cite Anjouan licenses, both were named by Michigan's gaming board on April 9, 2025, and neither is licensed by a US state. See our Silver Oak review for full terms.
Is Red Dog Casino legit, and how does it compare with Silver Oak?
Red Dog names its operator, Wonder Play Company N.V., and an Anjouan license number, ALSI-122310020-F16, in its terms, which is more disclosure than many offshore sites give. It isn't licensed by any US state, and Michigan's regulator named it in an April 2025 cease-and-desist release. Silver Oak names Primrose Media Limited and an Anjouan license without a number, and was named in the same Michigan release. Our Is Red Dog legit page covers the rest.
Does Red Dog accept US players?
Red Dog's terms exclude Kansas and Michigan, plus several countries including the UK, Israel and the Netherlands. Being left off an exclusion list doesn't mean offshore play is lawful in your state. Only seven states license online casinos, and none of them licenses Red Dog. Check your state on our states hub first.
What is Red Dog's max payout on the welcome bonus?
Red Dog's welcome page caps the payout at 30 times your deposit. On a $100 deposit, that's $3,000; on $30, it's $900. Wagering is 40x the deposit plus bonus within 30 days, with a $10 maximum bet. Silver Oak's offer page states no max withdrawal on its match. Our max cashout guide explains these caps.
Were Silver Oak and Red Dog named by Michigan?
Yes. Both were named in the Michigan Gaming Control Board's April 9, 2025 release announcing cease-and-desist letters to 13 unlicensed operators targeting Michigan residents. The board describes them as illegal offshore operators. Michigan licenses its own online casinos instead, and Red Dog's terms now exclude the state. Our Michigan gambling laws page sets out the state's rules.
How do withdrawals compare at Silver Oak and Red Dog?
Both stop at $2,500, measured differently. Red Dog caps each payout at $2,500 with a $150 minimum and 2–3 business days for ID approval; its payout times aren't published. Silver Oak caps the week at $2,500 to start, rising by VIP level, and allows 7–10 business days for review plus 7–10 for payment. See our Red Dog withdrawals page.
What's the minimum deposit at Silver Oak vs Red Dog?
Red Dog's welcome page lists $10 for Neosurf, $20 for most crypto and Flexepin, $30 for cards and $40 for USDT. Silver Oak starts at $30 for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and cards, with Changelly from $60. Silver Oak's card deposits carry a 3–10% fee. For a wider view, see our low deposit casinos list.
What does Silver Oak's VIP program add?
Silver Oak's VIP page lists five tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Elite. Benefits include appreciation chips of $100 to $700, deposit bonuses of 250% to 325%, monthly cashback of 4% to 35%, and higher withdrawal limits, with priority payments and a personal host from Platinum. Red Dog's loyalty scheme isn't published. Read our Silver Oak VIP program page.
What is Red Dog Casino's max bet with a bonus, and does Silver Oak have one?
Red Dog's welcome terms set a $10 maximum bet while a bonus is active, and Silver Oak doesn't publish a max bet figure on the pages on record. A cap like Red Dog's matters because breaking it is a common reason casinos void bonus winnings. At $10 a spin, clearing 40x on a $100 deposit plus an assumed $100 bonus ($8,000) takes at least 800 spins. Ask Silver Oak's support whether a limit applies before you play with bonus money. Our pages on bonus terms red flags and why a bonus was removed explain the risks.
Can I play Red Dog Casino or Silver Oak in Kansas?
Red Dog says no: its terms exclude Kansas, along with Michigan. Silver Oak's terms list no US states, but Kansas doesn't license any online casino, so neither site has state approval there. Its lottery-owned casinos and sports wagering run under the Kansas Expanded Lottery Act, with the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission and the Kansas Lottery as regulators. Players in Wichita, Overland Park and Kansas City can read what's allowed on our Kansas online casinos page and in the offshore casino legality guide.
Does Silver Oak have a no deposit bonus that Red Dog doesn't?
Silver Oak publishes three no deposit codes: SILVER25 for $25, SILVER50 for $50 and FREESILVER for $100, each with 30x wagering (60x on blackjack and video poker) and a $100 maximum cashout. A no deposit offer from Red Dog isn't in the terms we reviewed, which focus on its four-use welcome deal. Even at Silver Oak, a free chip is a trial, not income: the most you can withdraw from it is $100. Codes change, so check the cashier. Our Silver Oak no deposit bonus page has the details.
How long do I have to clear the Red Dog welcome bonus compared with Silver Oak?
Red Dog gives 30 days to meet 40x wagering on deposit plus bonus, according to its welcome page, while Silver Oak doesn't publish an expiry for its match. On a $100 deposit with an assumed equal bonus at Red Dog, that's $8,000 of play in 30 days, or about $267 a day. Missing the deadline usually means losing the bonus and its winnings. Silver Oak's missing deadline isn't a reason to relax, since terms can change; ask support. See our guides to bonus expiry and how to clear a casino bonus.
Are Red Dog Casino and Silver Oak winnings taxable?
Yes. Winnings from Red Dog, Silver Oak or any other casino are taxable federal income, even though neither casino is US-licensed. For payments made in 2026, the IRS sets a $2,000 threshold for a Form W-2G on slot winnings, but tax is owed on smaller wins too. Losses can be deducted only up to your winnings, and from the 2026 tax year that deduction is reportedly capped at 90% of losses; check IRS guidance. Keep records of every deposit, wager and withdrawal. Our Form W-2G explainer and gambling taxes guide cover the details.
Does Red Dog Casino use RealTime Gaming software like Silver Oak?
Red Dog doesn't say. Its terms describe only "reputable multiplatform game software based on modern RNG" without naming a studio, while Silver Oak names RealTime Gaming on its mobile page, and a review site adds Spinlogic Gaming. That means you can't assume Red Dog carries RTG titles such as Cash Bandits 3 or Storm Lords; check its lobby first. The card game called red dog is unrelated to the casino brand. Our RealTime Gaming profile and red dog card game guide explain both.
