What is the minimum deposit?

What is the minimum deposit? It is the smallest single payment a casino will accept, and at the offshore casinos US players most often search for it runs from $5 with Bitcoin Lightning to $30 by card. Bonus minimums can be higher, and fees can change what you really pay, so check both before you send anything.

Key takeaways

  • Published or reported minimums at our partner casinos run from $5 (Bitcoin Lightning) to $30 (cards).
  • The minimum to claim a bonus can differ from the minimum to deposit, so read both.
  • Card fees, such as Silver Oak's published 3–10%, raise the true cost of a small deposit.
  • Our partners are offshore and not licensed by any US state; check your state's law first.
  • A low minimum is a convenience, not a reason to deposit more often. Set your own limit.

What is the minimum deposit? The straight answer

The minimum deposit is the lowest amount a casino lets you add to your account in one payment. It is set per payment method, not per casino, so the same site can take $5 in one coin and $30 on a card.

At the seven offshore casinos we cover, the lowest figure published or reported is $5 with Bitcoin Lightning. Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash usually start at $10, and Visa, Mastercard and American Express start at $25 or $30. You can compare every method on our casino minimum deposits page.

Two other numbers sit next to the minimum deposit and matter just as much: the minimum to qualify for a bonus and the fee on the method you choose. A $25 deposit that costs $2.50 in card fees, or that falls short of a bonus threshold, is not the same as a clean $25. If you are new to this, start with the questions hub and our guide on how much you should deposit.

Minimum deposit by casino and payment method

The table shows each partner's lowest deposit by method. Where the figure comes from the casino's own banking page we say so; where it comes from review sites it is third-party and may be out of date.

SlotoCash's banking page (opens in a new tab) also lists AstroPay from $15 and Interac from $10, and it lists no deposit maximums. Silver Oak's banking page (opens in a new tab) publishes upper limits too: $30 to $100,000 for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, $30 to $1,000 for cards, and $60 to $200 through Changelly.

Miami Club, our second-ranked partner, also lists Lightning Bitcoin from $5, with CardPay, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Neosurf and eZee Wallet from $10. Its offer via our link is $4,000 Bonus + 285 Bonus Games (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply); its own published package is up to $800 over eight deposits at 20x deposit plus bonus, with no max cashout stated on deposit bonuses. Its Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026, section 1.6) list the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted, so confirm your eligibility at sign-up. See the Miami Club review for the full picture.

Minimum deposit for a bonus vs the minimum to play

A casino can accept a small payment and still refuse to attach a bonus to it. The bonus minimum lives in the promotion terms, not on the banking page, which is why people miss it.

Notice the SlotoCash gap. The bonus terms say $20 per bonus, but cards and standard Bitcoin start at $25 on the banking page. In practice a card player needs $25 to claim. Bonus codes change often, so treat the codes above as examples reported on the date shown, and read our page on bonus codes before you rely on one.

Why crypto minimum deposits are lower than card minimums

Card deposits at offshore casinos carry the gambling merchant code MCC 7995. Many US banks decline that code or treat a credit card gambling charge as a cash advance with extra fees, so casinos set higher card minimums to make each attempt worth processing. Our page on card declines explains the bank side.

Federal law sits behind those blocks. The UIGEA payment rule in 31 U.S.C. § 5363 (opens in a new tab) bars gambling businesses from accepting cards, transfers and checks in connection with unlawful internet gambling. It targets the business, not the player, but it is why US card issuers are cautious.

Crypto avoids the card network, so minimums can drop to $5 or $10. That convenience has a cost: crypto payments generally can't be reversed, and prices move. If you are new to coins, read how to deposit with Bitcoin and is Bitcoin safe for casinos first.

Deposit fees that raise the real minimum deposit

A minimum deposit is only the starting price. Fees decide what actually leaves your account, and they bite hardest on small amounts.

  • Silver Oak: the casino's banking page lists a 3–10% fee on Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover. On a $30 card deposit that is $0.90 to $3.00. Its crypto deposits are listed at 0%.
  • SlotoCash: the banking page lists card fees of $0.01 to $1 and no fee on Bitcoin. On a $25 card deposit, the worst case is $1, or 4%.
  • Your bank: if your card issuer treats the charge as a cash advance, its own fee and interest apply on top. That is set by your bank, not the casino.
  • Crypto network and exchange costs: buying $10 of Litecoin and sending it costs something at the exchange and on the network. Our crypto fees guide covers this.

What a minimum deposit really buys: a worked dollar example

Say you deposit $25 by card at SlotoCash and claim a 200% match, the first-deposit match listed on the casino's site. The bonus is $50, so your balance is $75. Under the published 25x (deposit + bonus) rule, you must wager 25 × $75 = $1,875 before you can withdraw bonus winnings.

Now apply the house edge. On a slot with an illustrative 5% house edge, the expected cost of wagering $1,875 is $1,875 × 5% = $93.75. That is more than your $75 starting balance, which is why most players don't clear a big match from a minimum deposit. Results vary a lot in the short run, but losses are the likely outcome over time.

Minimum deposit with and without a bonus (illustrative 5% house edge)
ScenarioStarting balanceWagering neededExpected cost of that wagering
$25, no bonus$25NoneDepends only on how much you play
$25 + 200% match at 25x (d+b)$75$1,875$93.75
$30 + 275% match at 30x (d+b)$112.50$3,375$168.75

The third row uses the 275% match and 30x rule reported for Slot Madness: $30 + $82.50 bonus = $112.50, and 30 × $112.50 = $3,375. See wagering requirements explained and the expected value of a bonus for the full method.

Minimum deposits and the US legal picture

A $5 minimum doesn't change the law. Only New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island license real-money online casinos. Maine legalized tribal-run online casinos in January 2026, but nothing had launched by October 2026. See states with legal online casinos.

Our partners are offshore. No US state licenses or regulates them, so there is no state regulator to complain to and no state-backed protection of your balance. Michigan's Gaming Control Board has sent cease-and-desist letters naming Silver Oak and Planet 7 (April 9, 2025), Slot Madness (August 14, 2025) and SlotoCash (October 8, 2026). Read offshore casinos legality and check your own state's law before you deposit any amount.

How to check the minimum deposit before you pay

  1. Open the casino's banking or cashier page and find the method you plan to use. Note its minimum and any listed fee.
  2. If you want a bonus, open that promotion's terms and note its own minimum deposit, wagering, max cashout and eligible games.
  3. Compare the two. Your deposit must meet the higher of the two if you want the bonus.
  4. Work out the fee as a percentage of the deposit. If it is more than a few percent, consider a different method.
  5. Check the withdrawal side too. A $5 deposit means little if the minimum withdrawal is $100.
  6. Decide your own budget for the week before you pay, and set a deposit limit if the casino offers one.

Low minimum deposits and keeping control

Small minimums make it easy to top up again and again. Five $25 deposits are $125, and it rarely feels like it in the moment. Decide a weekly amount you can afford to lose, write it down and stop when it is gone.

Use the tools that help: deposit limits, cool-off periods and blocking software. Frequently asked questions

What is the lowest minimum deposit at our partner casinos?

The lowest figure we have on record at our partner casinos is $5, using Bitcoin Lightning. SlotoCash lists it on its own banking page, and third-party reviews report the same $5 Lightning minimum at Decode, Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness. Remember that you also need a wallet that supports Lightning, and that bonus minimums are usually higher. Compare options on our best $5 deposit casinos list.

What is the minimum deposit with a credit card?

Card minimums at our partners are $25 or $30. SlotoCash lists $25 for Visa, Mastercard and American Express with a $0.01 to $1 fee, while Silver Oak lists $30 to $1,000 with a 3–10% fee. Third-party reviews report $30 for Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness. Your bank may still decline the charge under the gambling merchant code, which our page on credit card declines explains.

Is the minimum deposit the same as the bonus minimum?

No, they are separate rules and can differ. The banking page sets the smallest payment the cashier accepts, while the promotion terms set the smallest deposit that qualifies for the bonus. SlotoCash's terms say $20 per welcome bonus, yet its card minimum is $25. Read both before paying, and see how to claim a casino bonus for the order of steps.

Can I deposit $10 at an online casino?

Yes, at some casinos and with some methods. SlotoCash's banking page lists $10 minimums for Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash, and third-party reviews report the same for Decode. Card deposits at our partners start higher, at $25 or $30. A $10 deposit may not qualify for a bonus, so check the promotion terms. Our $10 deposit casinos page compares options.

Why do casinos have a minimum deposit at all?

Minimums exist because every payment costs the casino something to process. Card deposits to offshore casinos often fail or attract fees under the gambling merchant code, so casinos set card minimums higher than crypto minimums. Crypto deposits skip the card network, which is why $5 and $10 minimums appear there. Our banking hub explains each method in turn.

Do deposit fees count toward the minimum deposit?

It depends on the casino, and most don't say. Silver Oak lists a 3–10% card fee, and SlotoCash lists $0.01 to $1 on cards, but neither page says whether the fee comes out of the deposit or is added on top. Ask support before paying if you are depositing close to the minimum. Our page do casinos charge fees covers fees in more detail.

Is a low minimum deposit casino safer?

No, the size of the minimum tells you nothing about safety. Our partners are offshore and not licensed by any US state, whatever their minimums, and several have been named in Michigan cease-and-desist letters. Judge a casino on its terms, payout record and regulator actions instead. See are offshore casinos safe for a fuller answer.

How much should I deposit the first time?

Deposit only what you are ready to lose as the cost of entertainment, and no more than your weekly budget. A first deposit at the minimum lets you check the cashier, the games and the verification process without much at stake. Avoid topping up to chase losses. Our gambling budget guide shows a simple way to set the number.

How low can a first SlotoCash deposit be?

SlotoCash's minimum deposit is $5 with Bitcoin Lightning, according to its own banking page. Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Interac start at $10, AstroPay at $15, and Visa, Mastercard, American Express and standard Bitcoin at $25, with card fees listed at $0.01 to $1. Its welcome bonus terms set $20 per bonus, so a card player effectively needs $25 to claim one. No deposit maximums are listed. Check the cashier before paying, because methods change. See SlotoCash banking and the SlotoCash welcome bonus.

Is Silver Oak's minimum deposit higher than at other partner casinos?

Yes, Silver Oak's minimum deposit is $30 for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and cards, according to the casino's banking page, the highest floor among our partners. Crypto deposits run up to $100,000 with no fee, cards cap at $1,000 with a 3–10% fee, and Changelly deposits run from $60 to $200. Its terms also add an 8% fee (minimum $4) on a withdrawal if the deposit wasn't wagered at least once, so don't deposit just to move money. Read Silver Oak banking and do casinos charge fees.

Which Miami Club deposit methods start at $5 or $10?

Miami Club's banking page lists a $5 minimum with Lightning Bitcoin, $10 for CardPay, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Neosurf and eZee Wallet, and $25 for Visa, Mastercard, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether, with no deposit fees. Miami Club is a live partner, but its Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026, section 1.6) list the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted. Confirm your eligibility at sign-up before depositing. See Miami Club banking and is Miami Club legit.

How much do I need for a first deposit at Decode?

Decode's minimum deposit is reported by review sites at $5 with Bitcoin Lightning, $10 for Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash, and $25 for cards and other methods. Decode's own site doesn't publish these figures, so check its cashier before paying. A reported bonus code, DECODE111, needs $25 with 25x (bonus plus deposit) wagering, and codes change. Reviews also report that Decode doesn't accept players from Maryland, New Jersey, New York or Washington. Read Decode banking and our $5 deposit casinos list.

Can I make a $5 crypto deposit at an offshore casino from Washington?

Deposit size makes no difference under Washington law, which is among the strictest in the US. RCW 9.46.240 makes knowingly transmitting or receiving gambling information over the internet a class C felony, and the state licenses no online casinos. Some sites also exclude Washington: third-party reviews report Decode refuses players there, and Chumba and Stake.us list it among excluded states. We don't show offers to Washington readers; start with our Washington online gambling guide and are crypto casinos legal.
