Can I use Venmo at online casinos?

Can I use Venmo at online casinos? Not at the offshore casinos marketed across most of the US: none of our seven partner casinos lists Venmo for deposits or payouts. You'd be choosing between cards, which banks often decline, and cryptocurrency, then waiting on payouts that third-party reviewers describe as slow at some sites.

Key takeaways

  • Venmo isn't listed by any partner casino.
  • Card deposits start around $30 and may be declined or treated as cash advances.
  • Crypto is the main alternative, with $5 Lightning minimums reported.
  • Reviewers report pending periods of 5–10 days before some payouts even start.
  • Weekly caps of $2,500 can spread a big win over several weeks.

Can I use Venmo at online casinos? The answer for US players

No. Planet 7 Casino, Royal Ace and Slot Madness don't list Venmo, and neither do the other casinos we partner with. Third-party reviews of those three describe the same menu: Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover, a long list of cryptocurrencies, bank transfer and check.

State-licensed casinos are a separate world. In the seven states that license online casinos, each operator decides which payment services to support under its regulator's rules, so check the operator's banking page there. Our online casinos by state guide tells you which rules apply where you live.

Why Venmo casino payments don't happen offshore

Venmo, part of PayPal, is a social payments app designed for splitting bills and paying friends. An offshore casino is a gambling business that no US state licenses, which puts it outside what mainstream US payment companies are set up to serve. Venmo's own user agreement is the place to check its rules on gambling.

Federal law adds to the caution. UIGEA, passed in 2006, stops gambling businesses from knowingly accepting fund transfers, credit and checks connected with unlawful internet gambling (31 U.S.C. § 5363 (opens in a new tab)). It targets payment processing rather than the player, and state law decides what is lawful. Our UIGEA guide explains the details.

These three casinos are reported to be sister brands with a similar cashier. None of them publishes a full banking page we could rely on, so every row below comes from third-party reviews. Check the live cashier before you deposit.

Card deposits: the Venmo user's fallback, and its limits

Most people who search for Venmo already have a debit or credit card, so cards are the obvious fallback. The catch is merchant category code 7995, the card-network code for gambling. Many issuers decline it by policy, and many treat a credit card gambling charge as a cash advance with its own fees, as reported.

Casinos can add their own fees too. Silver Oak, a sister brand, publishes a 3–10% card fee, which is $3 to $10 on a $100 deposit, while its crypto deposits are listed at 0%. Our pages on card declines and debit cards at casinos cover what to expect.

A card can take your money in, but our partners don't list card payouts. Withdrawals come back by Bitcoin, wire or check, so set one of those up before you deposit.

Venmo-speed payouts? What reviewers report instead

Venmo moves money in moments. Offshore payouts don't, and third-party reviewers flag these three casinos in particular. Here is what they report:

Reported payout times and caps
CasinoPending periodBank payout timeWeekly cap
Planet 75–7 days7–9 days; one review says payouts usually take more than a month$2,500 (one site says $2,500 a day instead)
Royal Ace7–10 days10–14 days; one review says a month or more$2,500; $5,000 a month
Slot Madness7–10 days10–14 days; players report 7–10 business days$2,500; $5,000 a month

All three reportedly process no cashouts on weekends. One review says Slot Madness crypto payouts are processed within minutes, which conflicts with the slower reports, so treat any single figure with caution. Our guide to pending withdrawals explains the waiting stage.

Before you swap Venmo for crypto or a card: a quick decision guide

Venmo users are used to instant, reversible-feeling payments between friends. Offshore casino banking works the other way round, so it pays to decide a few things before the first deposit rather than after a win.

Which Venmo alternative suits which player
If you…Likely routeWhat to watch

Live in OhioNone at Royal Ace or Slot MadnessBoth are reported to refuse Ohio players
Live in a licensing stateA state-licensed casino’s own cashierCheck that operator’s banking page; offshore partners aren’t licensed there

Whatever the route, pick the payout method first, because money can’t come back to Venmo. Ohio readers can find the state picture on our Ohio online casino guide, where the Ohio Casino Control Commission recommends Gamban to block unregulated sites. Worked example: a big win under weekly and monthly caps

Suppose you win $8,000 at Royal Ace, with the reported caps of $2,500 a week and $5,000 a month. Here is how the payout could stretch out:

  1. Week 1: request $2,500 (balance left: $5,500).
  2. Week 2: request $2,500, which reaches the $5,000 monthly cap (balance left: $3,000).
  3. Weeks 3 and 4: no further payouts that month.
  4. Next month, week 1: request $2,500 (balance left: $500).
  5. Next month, week 2: request the final $500.

That's at least five weeks of requests, plus each pending period, while the balance sits in your account where it's tempting to keep playing. A 5% house edge, common on RealTime Gaming slots with a published 95% RTP, costs $50 on average for every $1,000 you stake. Our withdrawal limits page has more examples.

Is Venmo gambling legal in the USA? Your state decides

Only New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island license real-money online casinos. Offshore casinos aren't licensed by any state, and no payment app changes that. Third parties report Planet 7 as licensed in Costa Rica or not licensed at all, and the same split appears for Royal Ace; Slot Madness is variously reported under Anjouan, Costa Rica, Curaçao or no license.

Michigan's regulator has acted against two of them. Its April 9, 2025 release named Planet 7 among 13 unlicensed sites (Michigan's April 2025 release (opens in a new tab)), and its August 14, 2025 action named Slot Madness (Michigan's August 2025 release (opens in a new tab)). See our Michigan page and player protections offshore vs licensed.

Partner casinos with an offer via our links (no Venmo)

None of our live partners lists Venmo, so we can't offer a closer match; these three list cards and crypto as reported. They are offshore and not licensed by any US state, which means no state regulator to complain to and no state protection of balances, and reviewers report slow payouts. Check your state's law first. Offers are for new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, and terms apply.

  • Planet 7 Casino: $2,750 Welcome Bonus + 45 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviews report code WELCOME200 for 200%, 30x (bonus plus deposit) on slots, a $1,000 max cashout and a $30 card minimum; sources disagree and the official terms weren't verified.
  • Royal Ace Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 35 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Reviewers report 30x on slots, 60x on blackjack and video poker, and a max cashout of 10x the deposit.
  • Slot Madness Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Code MAD275 is reported by third-party reviews, with a $30 minimum, 30x on slots and no max cashout.

Expect slot-focused bonuses, with table games often excluded or weighted lower. The terms shown at sign-up are the ones that count; our bonus terms red flags page shows what to look for. Frequently asked questions

Are there any casinos that take Venmo?

None of our seven partner casinos lists Venmo for deposits or payouts. Offshore cashiers rely on cards, crypto, bank transfer and check. State-licensed operators in the seven licensing states choose their own payment services, so check a licensed operator's banking page if you live there. Find more payment questions on our online casino questions hub, or read the Venmo casinos banking page.

Can I cash out casino winnings to Venmo?

Not at our partners. Payouts go by Bitcoin, bank wire or check, and reviewers report pending periods of five to ten days at Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness before processing starts, plus weekly caps of $2,500. No weekend cashouts are reported at those three. Our guide to how long casino withdrawals take explains each stage.

Can I use a Venmo debit card at a casino?

A Venmo-branded card is processed as a card, so it's subject to the same gambling code (MCC 7995) and the same issuer policies as any other card. It may be declined. Even if it goes through, our partners don't list card payouts, so winnings would come back another way. Read why cards get declined at casinos for the common causes.

What's the easiest Venmo alternative for a beginner?

There's no option as simple as Venmo. Cards are familiar but often declined. Crypto works more reliably at offshore cashiers but needs a wallet, careful address handling and tolerance for price swings, and transfers generally can't be reversed. If you go that route, start with our guide on setting up a crypto wallet and send a small test first.

Why are payouts slower than Venmo at offshore casinos?

Offshore casinos run review and verification checks, process on business days and cap how much leaves each week. Third-party reviews report pending periods of 5 to 10 days at Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness, with bank payouts taking a further 7 to 14 days, and some reviewers say a month or more. Our page on why a withdrawal is pending covers what you can do.

Is Planet 7 safe to use instead of Venmo-friendly sites?

Planet 7 is an offshore casino with no US state license. Third parties report a Costa Rica license or none, and Michigan's regulator named it in an April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release. Some review sites flag slow payments, while one reports most complaints as resolved. Weigh that before you deposit. Our page on whether Planet 7 is legit sets out the evidence.

Can I get my money back if I paid a casino through a payment app?

It depends on how you paid and who you paid. Payments sent to a person through a social payments app can be hard to recover, and crypto transfers generally can't be reversed. Card payments have more consumer protections, though issuers decide disputes. Contact your payment provider quickly and keep records. Our guide on getting money back from a casino explains the routes.

Do offshore casinos accept Venmo in some states?

Our partners don't list Venmo anywhere, and none publishes a full list of US states it accepts. Third-party reports say Royal Ace and Slot Madness refuse Ohio players. Location doesn't change the cashier, but it does change the law that applies to you, so check your state first. Our state-by-state guide and which states allow online casinos are good starting points.

Does Slot Madness accept Venmo?

No, Venmo isn’t among the methods third-party reviews list for Slot Madness. Reviewers report Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover from $30, Bitcoin Lightning from $5, a run of coins including Litecoin, Tether and Dogecoin, plus Changelly, Coindraw, bank transfer and check. Payouts are reported from $20 by bank wire, check, Bitcoin or Litecoin, with no fee per one review and caps of $2,500 a week and $5,000 a month. Michigan’s regulator named Slot Madness on August 14, 2025. Our Slot Madness withdrawals page and is Slot Madness legit answer have more.

Do Michigan’s state-licensed online casinos accept Venmo?

Possibly, at a state-licensed site, because Michigan licenses real-money online casinos and each licensed operator picks its own payment partners. The Michigan Gaming Control Board lists 15 authorized online casino platform providers in 2026, so check the banking page of the licensed brand you’re considering, and play only while you are inside Michigan. Offshore sites are a different matter: the board calls them illegal and has named Planet 7, Slot Madness and other partners in cease-and-desist releases. See can I play online casinos in Michigan and our guide to Michigan real-money casinos.

What fees will I pay at an offshore casino if I can’t use Venmo?

Fees depend on the method, and the card route usually costs the most. Silver Oak publishes a 3–10% card deposit fee, so a $200 card deposit costs $6 to $20, while its crypto deposits are listed at 0%. Third-party reviews report no withdrawal fees at Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness, though one unofficial source says Royal Ace may charge if a deposit wasn’t wagered once. Your bank may add a cash-advance fee on a credit card. Our withdrawal fees guide and do casinos charge fees answer cover the full picture.

Is a “Venmo casino” advertised on social media legit?

Treat it as a warning sign rather than a find. None of the established offshore casinos we cover lists Venmo, so an account offering to take Venmo for casino credit is usually asking you to pay a private person, and money sent that way can be hard to recover. Look for a named operator, published terms and a real banking page, and never pay a personal account for chips. If you’ve already sent money, contact Venmo and report fraud to the FTC. Our rogue casino checklist and casino mirror sites guide show the common tricks.

What is the minimum withdrawal at Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness?

Reviewers put it at $20 at Royal Ace and Slot Madness, and $50 or $100 at Planet 7 depending on the source. Those figures are lower than SlotoCash’s published $100 Bitcoin minimum, but the weekly cap of $2,500 at all three matters more for a large win. None of the three publishes a banking page we could confirm, so check the live cashier before relying on any figure, and verify your ID early because reviewers report pending periods of five to ten days. Our minimum withdrawal answer and weekly withdrawal limits guide go further.

Can I use Venmo to buy crypto for a casino deposit?

That depends on Venmo’s own terms for any crypto features, including whether coins can be sent to an outside address, so read them before trying. On the casino side, Planet 7, Royal Ace and Slot Madness are reported to accept Bitcoin, Lightning from $5 and several other coins, and every transfer to a casino address is generally final. Send a small test first, copy the address fresh, and keep the transaction ID. Our guides on how to deposit with Bitcoin and crypto fees explain the costs on the way in.
