Can I get my money back from a casino? Not for bets you placed and lost: gambling losses aren't refundable anywhere. You may be able to recover money the casino owes you, such as an unpaid balance or wrongly voided winnings, or a card charge you never authorized. At offshore casinos the routes are thin, so it pays to know which ones work.
Losses on bets you chose to place can't be refunded, at offshore or state-licensed casinos.
Unpaid balances and voided winnings go through the casino's own dispute process first, within strict time limits.
Michigan's regulator says it can't help recover deposits from offshore sites; Arizona's says the odds are low.
Card disputes are for unauthorized or billing problems, and crypto payments generally can't be reversed.

Can I get my money back from a casino? The short answer
No casino refunds losing bets. Once a wager settles, the money is gone, whether you played at a state-licensed site in New Jersey or an offshore casino. The house edge means losses are the expected result over time, so any plan to win back a deposit by playing on usually makes the hole deeper.
Recovery is a real possibility in three narrower cases: the casino owes you money and hasn't paid, it voided winnings you think you earned fairly, or someone charged your card without your permission. Each has its own route, and none comes with a promise. For more plain-English answers like this, see our online casino questions hub.

Ask for reinstatement; SlotoCash and Miami Club terms allow it
A bet is a completed purchase of a chance. The casino delivered what you paid for, so there's nothing to refund, and offshore terms say nothing different. Card issuers take the same view: a dispute is meant for charges you didn't authorize or services you didn't get, not for spending you regret.
Cashback isn't a refund either. SlotoCash, Silver Oak and Miami Club all advertise cashback or rebates, but each pays bonus credit with wagering attached. Silver Oak's cash back on deposits over $1,000 carries 30x wagering, so a $300 credit means $9,000 in bets ($300 × 30) before it can be withdrawn. Read what cashback is before treating it as money returned.
Getting money back through the casino's own dispute process
At an offshore casino, the operator is judge of its own case. That's uncomfortable, but it's also the only route with a direct line to your money, and the clock starts early.
Silver Oak: its terms and conditions (opens in a new tab) require disputes within 3 days of the wager, promise replies within 28 days and refer cases to a Central Dispute System run by its software provider.
A three-day window is short. If you plan to challenge a voided win or a missing payout, raise it the same day you notice it, and say clearly that you're opening a formal dispute rather than asking a question.
When winnings are voided under bonus terms
Many requests to get money back start with confiscated winnings. Casinos usually void them for breaking a bonus rule: betting above the maximum, playing an excluded game, or holding more than one account. The rules below are the ones most often at stake.

Third-party (LCB)
Third-party complaint records show how these disputes play out. LCB members allege Decode locked an account after a big win over a disputed max-bet breach, and casino.guru lists a $1,300 confiscated-winnings case at Slot Madness and a $1,115 account closure at Royal Ace. These are individual reports, not settled findings. Where the casino cites a rule, ask it to name the clause and the bet that broke it, then compare against the terms you accepted. Our page on why a bonus was removed covers the common triggers.
Can a state regulator or attorney general get my money back?
For state-licensed casinos, the state regulator is a genuine complaint route. For offshore casinos, state officials mostly act against the operator, not on behalf of individual balances.
Michigan: the gaming control board's records say offshore sites don't honor the state's Responsible Gaming Database and that it cannot help players recover deposits. Its tip line is 1-888-314-2682.
Arizona: the Department of Gaming's scam warning (opens in a new tab) says unregulated sites are outside its authority, so victims have little chance of recovering funds. It takes reports at (602) 255-3886.
Mississippi: the gaming commission's June 2025 public notice warns that players at illegal online sites could face prosecution and forfeiture of deposits.
That last point cuts the other way: in some states, the regulator's position is that offshore play itself is unlawful, which makes a refund claim harder, not easier. Our page on state gambling regulators lists who to contact, and online casinos in Massachusetts shows how one attorney general has approached offshore operators.
Card disputes and crypto: what your bank can and can't reverse
If a card was charged for a deposit you never made, call your issuer. That's what card disputes exist for, and our page on what a chargeback is explains the process and the risks of misusing it.
Crypto works differently. The FTC warns (opens in a new tab) that crypto payments lack the legal protections of credit cards and generally can't be reversed. The CFPB's 2022 complaint bulletin (opens in a new tab) counted more than 8,300 virtual-currency complaints from October 2018 to September 2022; fraud and scams made up 40%, and money not being available when promised made up 16%. Every partner lists Bitcoin for withdrawals, and a crypto deposit is effectively final once it confirms.
If you sent crypto to a site that turned out to be fake, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and read our guide to crypto casino scams to spot the next one.
What third-party complaint records say about getting paid
Independent complaint sites mediate disputes with some offshore casinos. Their numbers give a rough sense of how often complaints end in a resolution, though a resolved case isn't always a full payout. AskGamblers lists each of these three partners with the status "terminated".

See our guide to casino ADR and complaints for how mediation works.
How to try to get your money back from a casino, step by step
Decide which case you're in: unpaid balance, voided winnings, dormant balance, unauthorized charge or scam. Losses on settled bets aren't a case.
Gather evidence: screenshots of your balance and history, the bonus or banking terms as they stood, and any emails or chat transcripts.
Write to support and say you're opening a formal dispute. Quote the amount, dates and the clause you rely on.
Meet the deadline: 14 days at SlotoCash, 3 days from the wager at Silver Oak. Where none is published, act within days.
Never pay a "recovery service" that promises to retrieve casino money for an upfront fee, and never deposit again to release a withdrawal.
Partner casinos with published cashback and dispute terms
We've matched this page to the three partners that publish cashback or rebate terms on their own sites, and two of them also publish a dispute deadline. Remember that cashback is bonus credit with wagering, not a refund. These casinos pay us commission and our order is commercial. They are offshore and not licensed by any US state, so check your state's law before you join.
SlotoCash Casino: $6,000 Welcome Bonus + 60 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's terms list $7,777 plus 300 spins over five deposits, a $20 minimum per bonus, 25x deposit plus bonus and no max cashout. Its promotions page offers instant cashback of 25% on Monday to Wednesday deposits and 35% Thursday to Sunday, claimed within 48 hours.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The site's own package is 100% on each of the first ten deposits up to $10,000, with 30x on the offer page but 40x on slots in its terms (60x table games and video poker), deposits from $30 and no max withdrawal stated. Its cash back is 30% to 50% on deposits over $1,000 made without a bonus, at 30x.
Miami Club Casino: $4,000 Bonus + 285 Bonus Games, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Its published package is up to $800, as 100% to $100 on each of the first eight deposits at 20x deposit plus bonus, and its promotions list a 25% rebate bonus. Section 1.6 of its Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026) lists the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms it accepts US players, so confirm your eligibility at sign-up. It runs WGS games, not RTG.
Bonuses are slot-focused and table games are often excluded or weighted lower. The terms shown at sign-up apply, and the house edge makes losses the likely outcome over time.

Frequently asked questions
Is a refund possible for gambling losses?
No. A settled bet is a completed transaction, so neither offshore nor state-licensed casinos refund losses, and card issuers don't treat regretted gambling as a valid dispute. What you can sometimes recover is money the casino owes you, such as an unpaid balance or wrongly voided winnings. If losses are causing stress, call 1-800-MY-RESET and read about chasing losses before depositing again.
What about a deposit I haven't played yet?
Possibly, by withdrawing it, but that's a withdrawal, not a refund. Most casinos let you cash out unplayed deposits once your account is verified and you meet the minimum, which is $100 at SlotoCash and Miami Club by Bitcoin. Some charge a fee if a deposit wasn't wagered: Silver Oak's terms set 8% (minimum $4). If you took a bonus, wagering usually applies first. See can I withdraw a bonus.
How long do I have to dispute a casino decision to get my money back?
Often just days. SlotoCash's terms require disputes within 14 days, and Silver Oak's require them within 3 days of the wager, with replies within 28 days. The other partners don't publish a deadline on their own sites, so act at once and put your dispute in writing. Our page on how to complain about an online casino lists the escalation steps.
Will my state get my money back from an offshore casino?
Usually not. Michigan's regulator says it cannot help players recover deposits from offshore sites, and Arizona's warns victims have little chance of recovering funds. Massachusetts' attorney general demanded refunds in a 2024 letter to Bovada's operator, but the outcome isn't recorded. State action mostly targets the operator through cease-and-desist letters.
Can my bank reverse a casino deposit?
Only for a genuine problem such as an unauthorized charge, a duplicate charge or a deposit that never arrived, and only on card payments. Disputing a deposit you made and then lost isn't a valid use of the process. Crypto deposits generally can't be reversed at all. Our chargeback explainer covers the details.
Is casino cashback the same as getting money back?
No. Cashback is bonus credit with wagering attached. Silver Oak's cash back carries 30x, so a $300 credit means $9,000 in bets before it can be withdrawn, and SlotoCash's instant cashback must be claimed within 48 hours. Treat it as a promotion, not a refund. Learn more on our cashback bonus page.
What if a casino voided my winnings for breaking a bonus rule?
Ask the casino to name the exact clause and bet, then compare it with the terms you accepted. Common triggers are betting above the max ($10 per spin at SlotoCash; $2 per line or $10 per wager at Miami Club) or playing an excluded game. When it has misapplied its own rule, file a formal dispute within its deadline. See why was my bonus removed.
Should I use a recovery service to get casino money back?
No. Services that charge upfront to recover gambling funds are a common follow-on scam, especially after crypto losses. Legitimate routes are free: the casino's dispute process, independent complaint sites, your card issuer for unauthorized charges, and the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov for fraud. Our guide to crypto casino scams lists the warning signs.
Can I get my money back from an offshore casino in Wyoming?
Not with the state's help. The Wyoming Gaming Commission's May 22, 2025 warning was titled "Unable to Assist with Unlicensed Winnings", and it says online casinos, poker rooms and other iGaming are illegal in Wyoming. The commission licenses online sports betting, with six permitted sportsbooks, so disputes with those operators do have a state route. With an offshore casino, your options are its own dispute process and independent complaint sites. The Wyoming Council on Problem Gambling is at 307-278-0766. See our Wyoming gambling page and player protections offshore vs licensed.
Can I get my money back from a licensed online casino in Pennsylvania?
You have a much stronger route than offshore players, because the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board licenses and oversees the state's online casinos. It listed 12 certificate holders and 25 authorized online casino sites as of February 13, 2026. Start with the casino's own complaint process, keep screenshots and messages, and if it isn't resolved, take it to the board. Losing bets still aren't refundable, but an unpaid balance or a misapplied rule is the kind of issue a regulator can look at. See our Pennsylvania online casino guide and the state regulators directory.
Can I get my money back from a sweepstakes casino?
Usually only by redeeming eligible Sweeps Coins, not by refunding coin purchases. Gold Coins have no cash value, so money spent on Gold Coin packages is treated as a purchase. Sweeps Coins can be redeemed under each brand's rules: Chumba's terms set a 100 Sweeps Coin minimum for cash and up to 10 business days to reach a bank. When a brand leaves a state, it sets a deadline; Blazesoft brands allowed Illinois redemptions until June 7, 2026, as reported. Act before the window closes. See can you redeem Gold Coins and the Chumba Casino review.
Can I get my money back from Miami Club Casino?
You can withdraw what Miami Club owes you, within its rules, but losing bets aren't refundable. Its Terms of Use require proof of identity for every withdrawal and cap payouts at $5,000 a week, and its banking page lists a $100 Bitcoin minimum. A balance removed after 12 months without a login can be reinstated on request. Miami Club publishes no dispute deadline, so raise problems at once through its 24/7 live chat. Its Terms of Use (v2.1, section 1.6) list the US as prohibited while our affiliate program confirms US players are accepted. See Miami Club withdrawals and Miami Club customer support.
Can I get my money back if a casino closes my account?
Sometimes, depending on why it closed the account and what its terms say about your balance. Third-party complaint records show the range: casino.guru lists a $1,115 account closure at Royal Ace, and one complaint thread reports a $100 Silver Oak cashout refused over an alleged duplicate account. Ask the casino in writing for the reason, the clause it relies on and what happens to your deposits and winnings. For inactive accounts, SlotoCash's terms say voided balances may be restored at management's discretion. See our guides to casino dormant accounts and how to file a casino complaint.
