Royal Ace vs Red Dog comes down to transparency against track record: Red Dog prints its operator and Anjouan license in its own terms, while Royal Ace publishes neither. Both are offshore, both cap payouts near $2,500, and only Red Dog was named in a Michigan cease-and-desist release.
Wonder Play Company N.V. and an Anjouan license appear in Red Dog's terms; Royal Ace shows no license, and third parties disagree about it.
Michigan's Gaming Control Board named Red Dog on April 9, 2025; Royal Ace isn't named in the Michigan releases on our record.
Royal Ace's bonus terms are reported only by third parties (30x or 60x deposit plus bonus); Red Dog publishes 40x deposit plus bonus.
Cash-out limits are similar: about $2,500 a week at Royal Ace (reported) and $2,500 per payout at Red Dog (its terms).
Neither casino is licensed by any US state, so check your state's law before depositing.

Royal Ace vs Red Dog: the short answer
If you weigh paperwork first, Red Dog is the more open of the two. Its own terms name an operator, a registration number and an Anjouan license number, which Royal Ace has never put on its site as far as our record shows. That is a narrow win, though, because an Anjouan license is a light-touch offshore license and gives US players no state regulator to turn to.
Red Dog also carries a mark Royal Ace doesn't. The Michigan Gaming Control Board named Red Dog Casino in its April 9, 2025 batch of cease-and-desist letters, and Red Dog's terms now list Michigan and Kansas as excluded states. Royal Ace, by contrast, has a long trail of third-party payout complaints and a weekly cap reported at $2,500.
So the Royal Ace vs Red Dog choice isn't safe versus unsafe. It's two offshore casinos with different weak points, and this comparison sets them out in dollars so you can decide which ones matter to you. For other head-to-heads, see our casino comparisons hub.

Who runs Royal Ace and Red Dog, and which license is shown?
Red Dog's terms identify Wonder Play Company N.V., registration number 162233, and cite a license from the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros, number ALSI-122310020-F16. Having those details in the casino's own terms is useful: you know which company you are contracting with. Our Anjouan license explainer covers what that kind of license does and doesn't offer players.
The picture at Royal Ace is murkier. Its site, as recorded, shows no operator and no license. AskGamblers lists Royal Ace (opens in a new tab) under Emoney Processing Ltd., marketed by Crystal Palace Group, with a Costa Rica license and no number. Casino Guru names Primrose Media Limited and says there is no license, LCB also reports no license and names Ace Revenue Group, and CasinoListings agrees on Ace Revenue Group. Four sources, three operator names: treat every one as unconfirmed.
Neither license is a US license. Anjouan and Costa Rica arrangements are offshore, and no US state regulator supervises either casino. A license label on its own tells you little about how disputes would be handled.
Michigan action and excluded states for each casino
The Michigan Gaming Control Board's April 9, 2025 release (opens in a new tab) lists Red Dog Casino among 13 unlicensed operators sent cease-and-desist letters. The board treats such sites as illegal offshore operators. Red Dog's current terms exclude Kansas and Michigan players, which fits with that history.
Royal Ace isn't named in the Michigan releases on our record. That isn't an endorsement; it only means the board hasn't singled it out in the actions we have checked. Michigan licenses its own online casinos, and our Michigan online casino guide explains which ones are state-approved.
Elsewhere, Casino Guru reports that Royal Ace doesn't accept players from Ohio, and Red Dog's terms rule out Kansas. Neither casino publishes a complete list of US states it serves, so a missing state on a list doesn't mean you're accepted.
Royal Ace vs Red Dog welcome bonus terms
Both casinos advertise large headline packages, but the conditions behind them differ. The offer through our link is Royal Ace Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 35 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Sources disagree on what sits behind that headline: Casino Guru reports 250% up to $2,500 plus 35 extra spins (opens in a new tab) without wagering details, while LCB lists 200% up to $4,000 at 30x deposit plus bonus with a 10x-deposit cash-out cap. The terms shown at sign-up are the ones that apply.
Red Dog's promotions page sets out its own rules directly: an "Up to $8000 Welcome Offer" valid four times, 40x deposit plus bonus within 30 days, a $10 maximum bet and a maximum payout of 30x the deposit. It gives no match percentage, and the same page also mentions an "up to $2450 Slots Bonus".

Wagering
30x (d+b) slots; 60x (d+b) blackjack and video poker
Free spins at both casinos are slot-only in practice, and spin winnings usually carry their own wagering. Table games tend to be excluded or count for less, so read the game weighting before you play. Our guide to bonus wagering requirements explains the arithmetic.
A $100 deposit worked through both bonuses
Dollar math makes the gap clearer. The example below uses a 4% house edge purely as an illustration (that equals a 96% return); real games vary, so check each slot's published figures.
Royal Ace, using LCB's 200% terms
Deposit $100 and receive a $200 bonus, so $300 in play.
Slot wagering at 30x deposit plus bonus: 30 × $300 = $9,000.
Expected cost of that wagering at a 4% edge: $9,000 × 0.04 = $360.
Cash-out cap at 10x deposit: $1,000, however much you win.
Red Dog, using its own 40x rule
Red Dog doesn't publish a match rate, so the bonus on $100 can't be calculated from its page.
Every $100 of deposit plus bonus needs 40 × $100 = $4,000 of wagering.
At a 4% edge, each $100 of deposit plus bonus costs about $160 in expected losses.
Payout cap at 30x deposit: $3,000 on a $100 deposit.
The practical reading: Red Dog's 40x rate is heavier per dollar than Royal Ace's reported 30x, but its 30x-deposit cash-out ceiling is three times higher. On both, the expected cost of wagering can eat most of a small bonus. Our max cashout rules page shows how these caps trim wins.
Withdrawal limits and payout speed: Royal Ace vs Red Dog
Withdrawal rules matter more than the bonus once a balance grows. Third-party reviewers report a Royal Ace cap of $2,500 per week and $5,000 per month, a $20 minimum, and slow processing: AskGamblers lists a 7 to 10 day pending period, 10 to 14 days for bank transfers and no weekend cashouts, and LCB carries a "Delayed payments" warning. AskGamblers reports no withdrawal fees.
A $2,500 cap per payout and a 2 to 3 business day identity check appear in Red Dog's terms, and its bonus terms mention a $150 minimum payout. The casino doesn't publish how long a payout takes after approval, or how often you can request one.

Crypto is the main route at both. LCB lists Royal Ace crypto as BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC, USDT and XRP, with a $5 minimum for Lightning Bitcoin; Casino Guru adds Bitcoin Cash and Binance Coin, plus Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for deposits. For cashing out, AskGamblers lists bank wire, check, Neteller and Bitcoin, though LCB says Neteller isn't available to US players.
Red Dog's welcome page names BTC, LTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, DOGE and USDT, with Neosurf and Flexepin vouchers and cards. Its minimums run from $10 by Neosurf to $40 by USDT. Card deposits can be declined at either site because US banks often block gambling merchant codes, so crypto is usually the more dependable route.
Games and software: RTG slots vs an unnamed platform
Casino Guru reports that Royal Ace runs RealTime Gaming and SpinLogic Gaming. LCB counts 356 slots and names Cash Bandits 2, Cash Bandits 3 and Paydirt! among them, and says there is no live dealer section. Check the casino's lobby for anything else you want to play.
By contrast, Red Dog describes only "reputable multiplatform game software based on modern RNG" and doesn't name a provider. That makes it hard to look up game returns in advance, and it makes RTG-focused players more likely to lean toward Royal Ace.
Support, mobile play and safer gambling tools
AskGamblers lists Royal Ace for instant play, mobile, a crypto casino and a download client. Casino Guru reports 24/7 live chat that opens only after registration, with replies averaging around 10 minutes, and an English-only service. Red Dog doesn't publish a mobile app in our record, and its support channels aren't documented there either.
Responsible gambling tools are a weak point at Royal Ace. AskGamblers marks every tool as unavailable and Casino Guru lists the absence of tools as a con. Red Dog's tools aren't recorded. Wherever you play, you can add your own limits with blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker; our Royal Ace responsible gambling page explains the options.
Is Royal Ace or Red Dog legal in the USA?
No US state licenses either casino. Online casinos are state-licensed only in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and neither Royal Ace nor Red Dog holds one of those licenses. Federal law under UIGEA targets payment processing for unlawful internet gambling rather than the player placing a bet, so your own state's law decides the picture for you.
What offshore status means in practice: no state regulator to complain to, no state-backed protection of balances, and terms the casino can change. Our page on offshore casino legality goes into detail. Winnings are taxable federal income either way, wherever you play.

Frequently asked questions
Is Royal Ace better than Red Dog?
Neither is clearly better; each is stronger on different points. Red Dog publishes its operator and an Anjouan license number, while Royal Ace shows neither, so Red Dog wins on transparency. Royal Ace avoids a Michigan regulator mention in our record, but third-party reviewers report a $2,500 weekly cap, slow payouts and a large complaint history. Compare the withdrawal terms that matter to you, and see the Royal Ace review and Red Dog review for full detail.
Is Red Dog Casino a legit alternative to Royal Ace?
Red Dog is a real offshore casino, but it isn't licensed by any US state. Its terms name Wonder Play Company N.V. and an Anjouan license, number ALSI-122310020-F16. Michigan's regulator named it in an April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release, and its terms now exclude Michigan and Kansas. That gives you a known operator but no US regulator to help with disputes. Our Red Dog legit check covers more.
Is Royal Ace Casino legit for US players?
Royal Ace has operated since around 2009 according to third parties, but it publishes no license or operator on its site. Reviewers disagree on the license (Costa Rica or none) and on the company behind it. LCB carries a warning for slow payment and poor support, and CasinoListings blacklisted it in 2023. It isn't named in the Michigan releases on our record. Read is Royal Ace legit before depositing.
Which has the better welcome bonus, Royal Ace or Red Dog?
Red Dog's headline is bigger, but bigger doesn't mean more valuable. Red Dog advertises up to $8,000 over four deposits at 40x deposit plus bonus, with a cash-out cap of 30x the deposit. Royal Ace's offer via our link is $2,500 plus 35 free spins, and third parties report 30x deposit plus bonus and a 10x-deposit cash-out cap. Work out the wagering in dollars with our welcome bonus guide before choosing.
How fast are Royal Ace and Red Dog withdrawals?
Neither casino publishes a firm payout time. AskGamblers reports a Royal Ace pending period of 7 to 10 days and 10 to 14 days for bank transfers, and LCB reports payments often taking a month or more. Red Dog's terms set a 2 to 3 business day ID check and a $2,500 cap per payout, but give no payout speed after approval. Our withdrawal times guide explains what slows offshore cash-outs.
Do Royal Ace and Red Dog take Bitcoin?
Yes, both list Bitcoin and several other coins. LCB reports Royal Ace accepts BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC, USDT and XRP, with a $5 Lightning Bitcoin minimum. Red Dog's welcome page names BTC, LTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, DOGE and USDT, with a $20 minimum for most coins and $40 for USDT. Bitcoin withdrawals are listed for Royal Ace by AskGamblers. Learn the basics in how to deposit with Bitcoin.
Are there Royal Ace or Red Dog no deposit bonus codes?
No current no deposit code is confirmed for either casino. LCB lists no code for the Royal Ace welcome bonus, and user comments there mention past no deposit spins with a $500 cash-out cap, which we can't verify. Red Dog's published pages in our record don't show a no deposit offer. Codes change often, so trust only the cashier at sign-up; our bonus codes guide explains how they work.
Can I play Royal Ace or Red Dog in Michigan?
Red Dog's own terms exclude Michigan players, and the state's regulator named it in an April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release. Royal Ace isn't named in the Michigan releases on our record, but Michigan licenses its own online casinos and treats unlicensed offshore sites as illegal operators. Michigan residents have state-licensed options with state protections, explained on our Michigan page.
What games do Royal Ace and Red Dog offer?
Royal Ace is reported to run RealTime Gaming and SpinLogic, with LCB counting 356 slots including Cash Bandits 2, Cash Bandits 3 and Paydirt!, and no live dealer games. No software provider is named in Red Dog's terms. Bonuses at both are geared toward slots, with table games usually excluded or weighted lower. For RTG titles and returns, see our RealTime Gaming page and check each casino's lobby.
Is Royal Ace or Red Dog legal in Massachusetts?
No, Massachusetts doesn't license online casinos, so neither Royal Ace nor Red Dog is a legal option there. The state's Attorney General has said that offering online casino games without a Massachusetts Gaming Commission license violates state gaming laws, and has sent a cease-and-desist letter to an offshore operator. Massachusetts does license online sports betting, with seven operators, and has three commercial casinos with a casino age of 21. Neither casino lists Massachusetts as excluded, but that isn't permission. See online casinos in Massachusetts and can I play online casinos in Massachusetts.
How long does verification take at Royal Ace and Red Dog?
Red Dog's terms give 2–3 business days for ID approval, and LCB reports Royal Ace checks documents in 0–3 days. Royal Ace takes documents by email to its documents address, though its full list isn't published on our record. Red Dog's bonus terms also set a $150 minimum payout, so verifying early means your first withdrawal isn't held up once you reach it. Have a photo ID and proof of address ready at either site. See Royal Ace verification and what is KYC.
Can I play Royal Ace or Red Dog on my phone?
Royal Ace is reported to work on phones through instant play, while Red Dog publishes no mobile app on our record. AskGamblers lists Royal Ace under instant play, mobile, crypto and download, and Casino Guru says its 24/7 chat opens once you've registered, in English only. For Red Dog, load the site on your phone and check that the cashier and games work before you deposit. Offshore casinos are rarely listed in the App Store or Google Play, so ignore app files from unknown links. See Royal Ace mobile and our mobile casino guide.
What is the minimum deposit at Red Dog and Royal Ace?
Red Dog's welcome page sets minimums from $10 by Neosurf to $40 by Tether, while LCB reports Royal Ace at $5 by Lightning Bitcoin and $30 by card. At Red Dog, most crypto and Flexepin start at $20 and cards at $30. Royal Ace's offer via our link may set its own minimum, so check the cashier. Red Dog's withdrawal methods aren't listed on our record, so ask support how you'd cash out before you deposit by voucher. See Neosurf at casinos and the best low deposit casinos.
