This RTG software guide covers RealTime Gaming, the studio behind most games at US-facing offshore casinos: where it came from, why many casinos now show the SpinLogic Gaming name, which titles and RTPs matter, how its testing is reported, and which of our partner casinos run it. Sources disagree on several company details, and we flag each conflict.
RealTime Gaming was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 and later moved operations to Costa Rica.
Since 2022 RTG has used the SpinLogic Gaming brand for US play; the game library is the same.
Published RTPs range from about 91% to 99.6% across RTG games, which changes the cost of play a lot.
Six of our seven partners run RTG or SpinLogic games; Miami Club runs WGS instead.
RTG's licensing is reported inconsistently, and no US state licenses the offshore casinos that use it.

What RealTime Gaming is: RTG software guide basics
RealTime Gaming, usually shortened to RTG, is a casino software company that supplies slots, table games, video poker and specialty games to online casinos. Its games run on a shared platform, so an RTG casino's lobby, cashier and game window tend to look alike from one brand to the next.
For US players, RTG matters because it's the main supplier to the offshore casinos that accept Americans. Six of our seven partners run its games, which is why our slot reviews focus on RTG titles. Our RealTime Gaming provider page lists the casinos and games, and the casino guides hub has the rest of this series.
If you're new to the term, the short answer to what RTG is comes down to this: a game studio, not a casino. RTG doesn't take your deposits or pay your withdrawals; the casino does, under its own terms.

Two details are disputed. Wikipedia puts the headquarters in Heredia, Costa Rica, while GamblingNews also lists Hong Kong. Wikipedia says Hastings International, a Curaçao company managed by HBM Group, bought RTG in January 2007, while GamesHub says 2008. GamblingNews names Daniel Schultz as founder, but Wikipedia names no founder.
The 2006 move links RTG's story to US law. The UIGEA targets payment processing for unlawful internet gambling rather than making a bet a federal crime for the player, and it reshaped which companies served the US market.
RTG vs SpinLogic Gaming: same games, two names
If a casino's footer says SpinLogic Gaming, you're still looking at RTG games. PokerListings reports that RTG adopted the SpinLogic name in 2022 for the US and many international markets, and LCB's SpinLogic page (opens in a new tab) describes it as RTG under a different brand.
SlotoCash's own homepage calls the casino a flagship partner of SpinLogic Gaming with more than 400 titles, while LCB lists RTG, Visionary iGaming and SpinLogic for the same casino. Both descriptions point to the same library. Our SpinLogic Gaming page tracks the brand separately.
European Gaming described SpinLogic in October 2024 as a rebranded branch of RTG for newly regulating markets. That doesn't mean any US state licenses it or the casinos that use it.
RTG slots and table games worth knowing
RTG's catalog runs to roughly 300 to 376 games depending on the source: SlotCatalog counts 347 (318 video slots, 20 card games, one roulette and eight others), PokerListings says 300+, and LCB reports reviewing 376 slots. These are well-known titles, with figures from third-party listings.
Some RTPs conflict between sources: SlotCatalog lists Aladdin's Wishes at 93% while PokerListings says 95%, and GamesHub puts Cash Bandits 2 at 96.25% against 95% from PokerListings. Where a casino's game info screen shows an RTP, that's the figure to go by. Full reviews: Cash Bandits 3, Sweet 16, Aztec's Millions, plus Super 21 on our games pages.
RTG game costs in dollars: RTP and house edge compared
RTP tells you what share of total wagers a game returns over the long run; the rest, the house edge, is the average cost. Multiply the edge by what you wager to get that cost. The table shows the average cost of $1,000 in total bets on each game, using the third-party RTPs above.

Table and video poker RTPs usually assume perfect play, so real results with mistakes cost more. $1,000 in total bets goes faster than you might think: 200 spins at $5, or 1,000 spins at $1. Slot results swing far around these averages, especially on high-volatility games, but the edge decides the long-run direction. The how slot RTP works guide explains the averages in more depth.
RTG progressive jackpots and Real Series random jackpots
RTG runs two kinds of jackpot. Pooled progressives such as Aztec's Millions and Jackpot Piñatas collect contributions across many casinos into one growing prize, according to Wikipedia. Real Series slots can carry random jackpots set up by a single casino or operator group, which can be won regardless of the symbols on the reels.
The difference matters for bonus players: SlotoCash's welcome terms allow Real-Series video slots but exclude progressive jackpot slots, and Silver Oak's terms exclude progressives from bonus play. Our Real Series jackpots guide and the RTG progressive jackpot system page cover both in detail.
Which RTG casinos are our partners?
Six partners run RTG or SpinLogic games, with different levels of evidence. Primary means the casino's own site says it; third-party means review sites report it.
Is RTG software fair? Testing and licensing as published
LCB and GamblingNews report that RTG games are tested by Technical Systems Testing (TST). That's a testing claim about the software; it doesn't tell you how a particular casino handles withdrawals or disputes.
RTG's own licensing is reported inconsistently. SlotCatalog lists Curaçao; PokerListings lists Curaçao and Panama in one place and Costa Rica and Curaçao in another; GamesHub lists GLI, CGCB and KGC. RTG's own website couldn't be reached to check. Our answer to are RTG games fair sets out what's known.
Two practical points follow. First, testing of the game engine doesn't replace a regulator for the casino, and no US state regulates our offshore partners. Second, a fair random number generator still carries the house edge, so the RNG guide and the cost table above both apply.
How to find and check an RTG game before you play
Use these steps to confirm what you're playing and what it costs. They rely on information the casino and the game screen show you.
Look at the casino footer or about page for RealTime Gaming or SpinLogic Gaming, or ask support which studios it runs.
Open the game's info or help screen and note the RTP if the casino shows one.
Compare that figure with third-party listings, such as our slot reviews, and use the lower figure if they differ.
Work out the cost: total you plan to wager × (100% minus RTP).
If you're using a bonus, check that the game counts toward wagering and that your stake is below the max bet.
Set a deposit limit or session budget before you start.
RTG on mobile: instant play, browser and download
RTG casinos mostly run in the browser. What's published for our partners is below; none lists a native app in an app store.
Silver Oak: instant play (Webplay), a browser mobile casino for iPhone, Android and tablets, and a downloadable Windows client, per its mobile casino page (opens in a new tab).
SlotoCash: instant play in the browser; its support page says no app or software is required and suggests a home-screen shortcut.
Slot Madness: no app, browser play on Android and iPhone, per esports.gg.
Planet 7: instant play in a mobile browser and a download client, per Blockonomi.
RTG supplies games; the casino decides who it serves. Real-money online casinos are licensed by the state only in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and the offshore RTG casinos we cover are not among them. Elsewhere, no state licenses online casinos, and state law decides whether playing is legal for you. The offshore casinos legality page explains the details.
Regulators do act against RTG-powered sites. The Michigan Gaming Control Board's cease-and-desist actions named Silver Oak and Planet 7 (April 9, 2025), Miami Club and Slot Madness (August 14, 2025), and SlotoCash (October 8, 2026 (opens in a new tab)). The board calls these illegal offshore operators. Royal Ace doesn't appear in those three releases.

Frequently asked questions
What is RTG software?
RTG software is the game platform made by RealTime Gaming, a studio founded in Atlanta in 1998 that supplies slots, table games and video poker to online casinos. Its games are common at offshore casinos that accept US players, and since 2022 they often carry the SpinLogic Gaming name. RTG makes the games; the casino handles your money. Our RealTime Gaming page lists its titles and casinos.
Is SpinLogic Gaming the same company as RealTime Gaming?
Yes, SpinLogic Gaming is RTG under another brand name, according to LCB, and PokerListings reports that RTG adopted it in 2022 for the US and many international markets. The game library is shared, so a SpinLogic casino offers RTG titles such as Cash Bandits and Bubble Bubble. SlotoCash, for example, calls itself a SpinLogic flagship. See our SpinLogic Gaming page for details.
Is RealTime Gaming software tested for fairness?
LCB and GamblingNews report that RTG games are tested by Technical Systems Testing, but RTG's own licensing is reported inconsistently, and its website couldn't be checked. A fair game still carries a house edge, so losses are likely over time. Testing also doesn't cover how a casino pays out. Our are RTG games fair answer sets out the evidence and its limits.
Which RTG game has the highest RTP?
Among the RTG games in our records, Super 21 is listed at 99.6% RTP and Jacks or Better video poker at 99.54%, both assuming best play. Among slots, SlotCatalog lists Swindle All the Way at 98.5% and several titles, including Coyote Cash, at 97.5%. Sources sometimes disagree, so check the game's info screen. See what RTP is for how to use these numbers.
Which casinos use RTG software?
Six of our seven partners run RTG or SpinLogic games: SlotoCash, Silver Oak, Decode, Slot Madness, Planet 7 and Royal Ace, with Silver Oak and SlotoCash confirming it on their own sites. Miami Club runs WGS games instead. Non-partner brands such as Raging Bull Slots and Jackpot Capital are also listed as RTG casinos. The best RTG casinos list compares our partners.
Where is RealTime Gaming's headquarters, and why did it leave the US?
RealTime Gaming is reported to be based in Costa Rica, after moving development there in 2007 and 2008, according to Wikipedia, which names Heredia. GamblingNews also lists Hong Kong, so sources conflict. The company was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998, and PokerListings links the move abroad to the 2006 UIGEA. Our UIGEA explainer covers that law.
Can I play RTG slots on my phone?
Yes, RTG casinos generally run in a mobile browser on iPhone and Android without an app. Silver Oak publishes a browser mobile casino and a Windows download client, and SlotoCash says no app or software is required. None of our partners lists an app-store app. The mobile casino guide explains how browser play works and what to check first.
Do RTG casinos accept US players legally?
RTG casinos that accept US players are offshore and not licensed by any US state, and whether playing is legal for you depends on your state's law. Only seven states license real-money online casinos, and those licensed sites aren't the RTG casinos we cover. Michigan's regulator has issued cease-and-desist letters to several RTG casinos. See is it illegal to play at offshore casinos.
Do RTG-powered casinos like Silver Oak and Planet 7 have live dealers?
Mostly not, based on third-party reviews of our RTG partners. LCB reports no live dealer games at Silver Oak or Planet 7, and VegasSlotsOnline lists none at Decode. SlotoCash is contested: LCB says it has live dealer tables, while PokerListings says there's no dedicated live section. RTG's own catalog is built around slots, table games and video poker run by a random number generator rather than streamed dealers. Check the casino's lobby before you deposit for live play. Our answer on whether RTG casinos have live dealer and the live dealer guide explain the options.
How many games does RealTime Gaming have?
RealTime Gaming has roughly 300 to 376 games, depending on which third-party source you count. SlotCatalog lists 347, made up of 318 video slots, 20 card games, one roulette game and eight others. PokerListings says 300+, and LCB reports reviewing 376 RTG slots. Individual casinos carry different slices of that library, and some add other studios: SlotoCash advertises more than 400 SpinLogic titles, while Decode lists 300+ RTG slots alongside around 30 other providers. Browse our RTG slot reviews or the casino software providers guide to see how RTG compares with other studios.
Who owns RealTime Gaming?
Wikipedia reports that Hastings International, a Curaçao company managed by HBM Group, bought RealTime Gaming in January 2007, though GamesHub dates the purchase to 2008. The founder is also disputed: GamblingNews names Daniel Schultz, while Wikipedia names no founder. SpinLogic Gaming, adopted as RTG's brand for the US and many international markets in 2022, shares the same parent, according to LCB. None of this ownership is regulated by a US state. Our RealTime Gaming provider page and the what is RTG answer collect the reported company details.
Which RTG games are cheapest to play?
Super 21 blackjack and Jacks or Better video poker are the cheapest RTG games in our records, costing about $4 and $4.60 per $1,000 wagered with perfect play. Among slots, Swindle All the Way at 98.5% RTP costs about $15 per $1,000, and Coyote Cash at 97.5% about $25. At the other end, Aztec's Millions at 94% costs about $60, and Fish Catch at 91% about $90. Those RTPs are third-party figures, and real play with mistakes costs more. See our Super 21 game page and Jacks or Better guide for the rules behind those numbers.
Can I use an RTG casino bonus on table games?
Usually only with restrictions, because RTG casino bonuses are built for slots. SlotoCash's general bonus terms exclude table games by default, and Silver Oak's terms set 40x wagering for slots but 60x for table games and video poker, while also excluding roulette and progressive jackpot slots from bonus play. Playing an excluded game with a bonus active can void your winnings. Read the eligible games list before opting in, or play tables without a bonus. Our guides to game weighting and the best bonus for blackjack explain how contribution rates change the math.
Has any regulator acted against RTG casinos?
Yes, the Michigan Gaming Control Board has sent cease-and-desist letters to several RTG-powered casinos, calling them illegal offshore operators. Its releases named Silver Oak and Planet 7 on April 9, 2025, Slot Madness on August 14, 2025, and SlotoCash on October 8, 2026. Royal Ace doesn't appear in those three releases. These actions target the casinos, not the software studio, and Michigan licenses its own online casinos separately. Read about Michigan online casinos and what cease-and-desist letters mean for players before choosing a site.
