Casino software providers guide

This casino software providers guide explains who makes the games at US-facing online casinos, from RealTime Gaming and its SpinLogic brand to WGS, Betsoft, Rival and Dragon Gaming. The provider shapes the game library, the RTPs on offer and how testing is reported, but it doesn't hold your money: the casino does, under its own terms.

Key takeaways

  • A software provider makes the games; the casino runs the account, cashier and payouts.
  • RTG and its SpinLogic brand supply six of our seven partners; Miami Club runs WGS games.
  • Multi-provider casinos such as Decode list many studios, but some aren't available to US players.
  • Testing claims vary: RTG's games are reported as tested by TST, and Miami Club publishes a monthly RNG audit.
  • A tested game still has a house edge, and no US state regulates our offshore partners.

What casino software providers do

A casino software provider builds the games: the slot math, the random number generator, the graphics and the paytables. The casino licenses those games, puts them in its lobby and handles everything to do with your money, from deposits and bonuses to identity checks and withdrawals.

That split matters when something goes wrong. A provider can tell you a slot's published RTP, but it won't pay a withdrawal the casino has delayed. When you read a review, look at both sides: who makes the games, and who runs the account. Our software providers hub lists every studio we cover, and the casino guides hub has more explainers like this one.

Platform providers and game studios

Some providers supply a whole casino platform as well as games. RTG casinos, for example, tend to share a lobby, cashier and game window, which is why many of them look alike. Other casinos use an aggregator to combine games from dozens of studios in one lobby; Decode is the clearest example among our partners.

Casino software providers guide: the studios US players meet

These are the providers that appear in the casino records we hold for US-facing offshore and sweepstakes sites. Company details come from third-party sources, and several are thin or disputed.

Which software providers our partner casinos run

Partner sites rarely name their suppliers in full, so this table mixes what casinos say about themselves (primary) with what reviewers report (third-party). Where they disagree, both are shown.

Software at our seven partners
CasinoProviders reportedSource type
SlotoCashSpinLogic Gaming, 400+ titles (site); RTG, Visionary iGaming, SpinLogic (LCB); RTG and Genesis Gaming (PokerListings)Primary and third-party

Slot MadnessRTG only (esports.gg); RTG and SpinLogic (casino.guru); NuWorks in 2013 to 2014Third-party

So the practical picture is simple: six partners are RTG casinos under one name or another, and Miami Club is the WGS outlier. Our RTG software guide covers the dominant studio in depth.

Single-provider vs multi-provider casinos

An RTG-only casino such as Slot Madness offers one consistent library of around 300 to 356 slots plus RTG table games and video poker. A multi-provider casino such as Decode mixes studios, and reviewers count very different totals: about 2,500 games on VegasSlotsOnline, and 2,565 slots in LCB's listing, 2,733 in its page data or over 1,000 in its review text.

Pros

  • Multi-provider: more themes, mechanics and volatility levels
  • Multi-provider: newer studios and features alongside RTG classics
  • Single-provider: consistent rules, layouts and bonus treatment

Cons

  • Multi-provider: some studios may be blocked for US players
  • Multi-provider: bonus terms can exclude particular studios or games
  • Single-provider: smaller library and fewer RTP choices

The first con matters at Decode. LCB reports that US players can't play several of the studios listed there, including 3 Oaks, Booming Games, Habanero, Pragmatic Play, Wazdan and Yggdrasil. A long provider list on a review site doesn't mean every studio is open to you; check the lobby after you sign in. VegasSlotsOnline's Decode review (opens in a new tab) lists the studios it found.

WGS software and Miami Club: the non-RTG partner

Wager Gaming, known as WGS, started in 1996 as Odds On Gaming, which first supplied secure money-transfer services before building games. According to LCB's Wager Gaming page (opens in a new tab), it merged with English Harbour Gaming Ventures in 2003 to become Vegas Technology, won a 2005 Gambling Online Magazine award for new casino software, and later became Wager Gaming. LCB mentions Antigua and Barbuda casino licenses and is unclear about the ownership change.

Miami Club's own homepage names titles such as Wheel of Chance II, Super 7s Wild Multipliers, The Reel Deal, Mad Road, Time Bender II and Cleopatra's Pyramid II, with categories for 3-reel slots, video slots, video poker, blackjack, progressives, keno and scratch cards. None of those is an RTG game, so our RTG slot reviews don't apply there.

One eligibility point needs a plain statement. Miami Club's Terms of Use (opens in a new tab) (v2.1, September 28, 2026, section 1.6) list the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted. Confirm at sign-up before depositing. Through our link it offers $4,000 Bonus + 285 Bonus Games (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply); its own published package is up to $800 over eight deposits at 20x wagering on deposit plus bonus with no cap stated, and the terms shown at sign-up apply.

How providers' games are tested: what's published

Testing is where providers and casinos make their biggest trust claims, so it's worth knowing exactly what's been said and by whom.

Fairness and testing claims in the record
WhoClaimSource type
RTGGames tested by Technical Systems Testing (TST)Third-party (LCB, GamblingNews)
RTGGamesHub lists GLI, CGCB and KGC; other sources list Curaçao, Panama or Costa RicaThird-party (conflicting)
Miami ClubRNG audited monthly by Charles Mousseau via Certified Fair Gambling; RTP certificate dated August 2026Primary
Planet 7Software tested by GLI, though the casino isn't formally regulatedThird-party (Blockonomi)
RivalCuraçao license obtained in 2006Third-party (SlotCatalog)

Read these claims for what they are. A test certificate covers how a game produces results; it doesn't oversee the casino's payouts, bonus decisions or account closures. And a correctly working random number generator still carries a house edge, so losses are the likely result over time. The how RNGs work guide and the are slots rigged answer explain what testing does and doesn't prove.

Why the software provider matters for your budget

Providers set the RTP of their games, and RTP decides the average cost of play. Within RTG's own catalog, published RTPs run from 91% (Fish Catch) to 99.6% (Super 21), per third-party listings. On $1,000 of total bets, that's an average cost of $90 at one end and $4 at the other.

A worked example: at $0.50 a spin and an example pace of 400 spins an hour, you stake $200 an hour. On a 97.5% RTP slot such as Coyote Cash the average cost is $5 an hour; on a 94% RTP slot such as Aztec's Millions it's $12. Real sessions swing widely around those figures, but over many hours the gap shows.

RTPs for WGS games at Miami Club aren't in the sources we hold, beyond the casino's statement that an RTP certificate exists. If a game's info screen doesn't show an RTP, treat the cost as unknown rather than assuming it's high.

How to identify a casino's software provider

You can usually work out who made a game in a couple of minutes. These steps rely on what the casino and the game show you.

  1. Check the casino footer, about page or games page for studio names or logos.
  2. Open a game and read its help or info screen, which often names the studio and shows the RTP.
  3. Compare the game title with a provider catalog, such as our slot reviews for RTG titles.
  4. If the site names no provider, ask support in writing which studios supply its games.
  5. Check the bonus terms for any studio or game exclusions before playing with a bonus.
  6. Be wary of copycat sites: unofficial mirror sites can copy a casino's look without its terms or support.

Miami Club's site doesn't name a provider, and Decode's site is a JavaScript app whose terms we couldn't read directly, so both rely more on support answers and the in-game screens. Our casino mirror sites guide explains the copycat risk.

Software provider red flags to watch for

The provider list can tell you something about a casino before you deposit. These are the warning signs worth acting on.

  • No provider named anywhere. Not proof of a problem, but it means you're relying on the casino's word for game fairness.
  • Reviewers disagree on the supplier. Royal Ace is an example: one review names only Big Time Gaming, which doesn't fit with others reporting RTG and SpinLogic. See the Royal Ace review.
  • Big-name studios listed but blocked. At Decode, LCB lists studios that it says US players can't open.
  • Testing claims with no named lab or date. Compare Miami Club's named auditor and certificate date with a bare "fully tested" badge.
  • Game titles that don't match any provider catalog. Ask support, and skip the game if the answer is unclear.

The how to spot a rogue casino guide covers the wider checks.

Providers at sweepstakes casinos: a different market

Sweepstakes casinos use a different set of studios from the offshore RTG sites. Stake.us lists NetEnt, Nolimit City, Hacksaw Gaming, BGaming and Evolution among others, and Chumba lists Relax Gaming, Yggdrasil, Red Tiger Gaming, ReelPlay and NetEnt. Several also run live tables from Evolution or Iconic21.

Those sites run on a dual-currency model rather than real-money wagering, and states are banning it: New York, New Jersey, California, Connecticut, Montana, Louisiana, Maine, Indiana, Tennessee and Oklahoma are on the recorded list. See sweepstakes casino bans for dates and statutes, and the live dealer guide for how live studios fit in.

Software providers, offshore casinos and US law

A game provider's own licenses don't make a casino legal in your state. Real-money online casinos are licensed by the state only in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island; Maine legalized tribal-run online casinos in January 2026, but nothing had launched by October 2026. Our partners are offshore and not licensed or regulated by any US state, so there's no state regulator for complaints and no state-backed protection of balances. State law decides whether playing is legal for you.

Regulators have acted against several RTG and WGS casinos. The Michigan Gaming Control Board named Silver Oak and Planet 7 in its April 9, 2025 release (opens in a new tab), Miami Club and Slot Madness on August 14, 2025, and SlotoCash on October 8, 2026, calling them illegal offshore operators. Frequently asked questions

What is a casino software provider?

A casino software provider is the company that makes the games, including the slot math, random number generator and paytables, and licenses them to casinos. The casino, not the provider, holds your money and decides on bonuses and withdrawals. At US-facing offshore casinos the most common provider is RealTime Gaming, often shown as SpinLogic Gaming. Our software providers hub lists each studio we cover.

Which software providers accept US players?

Providers don't accept players; casinos do. That said, the studios most often found at offshore casinos serving the US are RealTime Gaming and its SpinLogic brand, WGS, Betsoft, Rival, Dragon Gaming and Saucify. At Decode, LCB reports that some big studios, including Pragmatic Play and Yggdrasil, aren't available to US players. See the best RTG casinos for our partners.

Is SpinLogic a different provider from RTG?

No, SpinLogic Gaming is RealTime Gaming under another brand, according to LCB, and PokerListings says RTG adopted the name in 2022 for US and many international markets. The game library is the same, so Cash Bandits and Bubble Bubble appear under both names. SlotoCash calls itself a SpinLogic flagship. Our SpinLogic Gaming page has the details.

Which software provider powers Miami Club's games?

Miami Club runs WGS (Wager Gaming) games, according to PokerListings and LCB, with CasinoBeats adding Dragon Gaming and Arrows Edge; the casino's own site doesn't name a provider. Titles on its homepage include Wheel of Chance II and Cleopatra's Pyramid II. Its about page says the RNG is audited monthly. Its terms list the US as prohibited, though the affiliate program says US players are accepted. See is Miami Club legit.

Are games from offshore software providers fair?

Some providers publish testing claims, such as RTG games being tested by Technical Systems Testing according to LCB, and Miami Club names a monthly RNG auditor. But a test covers the game, not the casino's payouts, and no US state regulates our offshore partners. Even a fair game keeps a house edge. The are RTG games fair answer looks at RTG specifically.

Does the software provider affect my chances of winning?

Yes, through RTP: the provider sets each game's return, and that decides the average cost of play. Within RTG's catalog, third-party RTPs range from 91% to 99.6%, which is the difference between $90 and $4 of average cost per $1,000 wagered. No provider's games beat the house edge over time. Our how slot RTP works guide explains the math.

How can I tell which provider made a game?

Open the game's help or info screen, which usually names the studio and sometimes the RTP, or check the casino's footer and about page. If neither names a provider, ask support in writing. Matching the title against a provider catalog, such as our RTG slot reviews, also works. The how to choose an online casino guide includes this among its checks.

Do RTG casinos offer live dealer games?

Not from RTG itself, because its catalog has no live studio. A casino needs a second supplier, such as Visionary iGaming, which is named in Cherry Jackpot's terms and in LCB's listing for SlotoCash. Reports conflict for SlotoCash and Decode, and five other partners are reported to have no live tables. See do RTG casinos have live dealer for more.

Where is RealTime Gaming based and who owns it?

RealTime Gaming was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1998 and is now reported to be based in Costa Rica, where development moved in 2007 and 2008. Wikipedia says Hastings International, a Curaçao company, bought RTG in January 2007, while another source gives 2008, so the date is disputed. PokerListings links the move abroad to the 2006 UIGEA, and in 2022 RTG adopted the SpinLogic Gaming brand for US play. These details all come from third-party sources. Our RealTime Gaming page and the RTG software guide cover the studio's history and games.

What software does Decode Casino use?

Decode is a multi-provider casino: its site title mentions 300+ RTG slots, and VegasSlotsOnline lists 17 studios, including Rival, Betsoft, Yggdrasil, BGaming and WGS. LCB lists around 30 more but reports that US players can't open several of them, such as Pragmatic Play, Habanero and Wazdan. Reported game counts range from over 1,000 to about 2,733, depending on the source. Because the provider lists come from reviewers, check what the lobby shows once you've signed in. Our Decode Casino review and the Decode slots page have more detail.

What is Betsoft known for, and is it at our partner casinos?

Betsoft is known for cinematic 3D slots, with games produced since 2005 and a mobile focus from 2012, according to a third-party profile. Its portfolio is put at over 180 or 200+ games, depending on the page. Among our partners, Betsoft appears only in the studio logos VegasSlotsOnline lists for Decode; the six RTG-based partners aren't reported to carry it. That listing is third-party, so check the lobby before you sign up for a particular game. Our Betsoft Gaming page and the Decode review explain where it shows up.

What games does Dragon Gaming make?

Dragon Gaming makes HTML5 slots offered in 25+ languages and currencies, and a 2021 trade report says its Buffalo Bounty was voted the top Buffalo-themed game by a US-facing online casino. Its founding date and owner aren't published in the sources we hold, and a Manila base is reported without a country being stated. CasinoBeats names Dragon Gaming among the studios at Miami Club, alongside WGS and Arrows Edge. Treat those details as third-party reports. See our Dragon Gaming page and the Miami Club slots page for more.

Is an RTG-only casino better than a multi-provider casino?

Neither is better for everyone; it depends on whether you value variety or consistency. An RTG-only casino such as Slot Madness offers around 300 to 356 slots with the same rules, layouts and bonus treatment throughout. A multi-provider casino such as Decode adds more themes and mechanics, but some studios may be blocked for US players and bonus terms can exclude certain games. Either way, RTP and the bonus terms matter more than the studio count. Compare the Slot Madness slots page with the best RTG casinos list to see how each setup looks.

Does a software provider's license make an online casino legal in my state?

No, a game studio's license or test certificate says nothing about whether an online casino is legal where you live. State law decides that. West Virginia, for example, is one of seven states that license real-money online casinos, and the operators it licenses are the legal option there; our offshore partners aren't among them in any state. Elsewhere, no state licenses online casinos at all. A Curaçao or Antigua permit held by a casino or studio isn't a US state license. Read states with legal online casinos and our page on offshore casino legality.
