Mobile casinos in Maine are not yet available from any state-licensed operator: tribal online casinos are authorized under LD 1164 but none had launched by October 2026. The casino sites that work on phones in Maine today are offshore, and most of them run in your phone’s browser rather than through an app, with no Maine regulator behind them.
No Maine-licensed casino app was live as of October 2026; licensed sports betting and fantasy apps are the only regulated options.
Our partner casinos run in a mobile browser; none lists a dedicated casino app on its own site.
A casino “app” from an unofficial source or mirror site is a warning sign, not a shortcut.
Blocking apps such as Gamban and in-account deposit limits work on phones too.

Are mobile casinos legal in Maine?
Not yet, from a licensed source. LD 1164 became law on January 11, 2026 and lets federally recognized Maine tribes run internet gaming under 8 M.R.S. chapter 39, which would include mobile casino apps. As of October 2026 nothing had launched, and the state’s proposed iGaming rules had no effective date. Third parties expect a launch in 2027 or later.
In the meantime, the Gambling Control Unit’s July 2026 release (opens in a new tab) says only operators licensed under Title 8, chapters 33, 35 and 39 may offer online gambling to Maine residents. Players who use unlicensed sites “do so at their own risk”, and the unit cannot help in disputes. A phone doesn’t change any of that. Our Maine online casino hub has the full legal background.

Mobile casino apps vs browser play at offshore casinos
Offshore casinos that take Maine players mostly skip apps and run as instant-play websites that adapt to a phone screen. You open the casino in Safari or Chrome, log in, and play. Nothing to install also means nothing to update.

Fake casino apps and mirror sites: the mobile risk
Because the real casinos rarely publish apps, copycat downloads and unofficial mirror sites fill the gap. Some copy a casino’s name and layout without saying who runs them. Unofficial mirror sites using the Planet 7 and Royal Ace names, for example, publish bonus codes and terms that independent reviews contradict, and they don’t say who operates them.
Treat any casino app from outside the casino’s own site as suspect, never enter card or crypto details on a site you reached from an ad, and type the official address yourself. Our casino mirror sites and phishing scams guides show what to look for.
Table games and video poker usually work too, though small screens make multi-hand video poker fiddly. Live dealer games aren’t offered at most partners, according to their sites and reviewers. See our guide to RTG software for how the games are built.
Depositing and withdrawing from your phone
Phones make crypto easy: a wallet app can scan a casino’s deposit QR code. Card deposits often fail because many US banks decline gambling transactions coded 7995. Withdrawals at our partners are mostly paid in Bitcoin, by bank wire or by check, with weekly caps; SlotoCash, for example, publishes $5,000 a week.
A casino in your pocket is always open, so set guardrails. Gamban blocks gambling sites and apps on phones and computers; its pricing page (opens in a new tab) lists $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial, and its apps are on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Silver Oak’s terms list deposit limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion through live chat.
Phone screen-time limits help too. The National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), with call, text and chat through NCPG’s help and treatment page (opens in a new tab); in Maine you can also dial 211. More options are on our blocking software page.
Taxes on mobile casino wins in Maine
Where you play doesn’t change the tax. Gambling winnings are federal taxable income, and a slot win of $2,000 or more triggers a W-2G for 2026 when the payer issues one. Offshore casinos may not, so keep a record on your phone of each deposit and withdrawal. Our keeping gambling records guide shows a simple method.
Mobile-friendly offshore casinos for Maine players, via our links
Both casinos below run in a phone browser without an app. They are offshore and not licensed by Maine or any US state, so check Maine law before signing up; the GCU says it can’t help in disputes with unlicensed sites. Offers are for new players aged 21+ (18+ where allowed), and terms apply. We earn a commission through these links, and the order is commercial.
Decode Casino: $5,000 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Decode’s site advertises a $111 free chip and crypto bonuses with no terms visible, so check wagering and any cashout cap at sign-up. Third-party reviews report code DECODE111 for 111% up to $1,111 at 25x deposit plus bonus with a $25 minimum, and weekly withdrawal caps of $2,500 or $5,000, depending on the source. Reviewers report it refuses players in Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington, not Maine. Its license isn’t shown on its site; reviewers report Curaçao. See our Decode review.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino’s own site advertises a 100% match on each of the first ten deposits up to $10,000, with 30x wagering on the offer page but 40x on slots in its terms, so confirm which applies. Deposits start at $30, and weekly withdrawals start at $2,500. Silver Oak publishes an Anjouan license held by Primrose Media Limited, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board named it on April 9, 2025. See our Silver Oak review.

Frequently asked questions
Can I play casino games on my phone legally in Maine?
Not at a Maine-licensed casino yet. LD 1164 authorizes tribal online casinos, but none had launched by October 2026. Offshore casino sites work on phones, but the Gambling Control Unit says people who use unlicensed platforms do so at their own risk and that it can’t help in disputes. Licensed sports betting apps are available. See our Maine gambling laws page.
Is there a real money casino app for Maine?
No licensed one is live. When tribal online casinos launch, third-party reports expect Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel to run them with the tribes. Offshore partners such as SlotoCash, Decode and Silver Oak don’t list a dedicated mobile app on their sites; they run in your browser instead. Our real money casinos in Maine page covers the current options and risks.
Is browser play safer than a casino app for Maine players?
For Maine players using offshore casinos, a browser is usually the safer choice, because the real casinos mostly don't publish apps and unofficial downloads may be copies. Browser play also needs no installs or updates. Safety still depends on the casino itself, which no Maine regulator oversees. Our how to spot a rogue casino guide lists warning signs to check.
Do mobile casinos work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, at our partners they run in the phone’s browser. Silver Oak’s mobile page names iPhone, Android and tablets, and SlotoCash says no app or software is needed. Reviewers report Slot Madness runs in Chrome and Safari on both platforms. Older phones may struggle with newer slots. Our best iPhone casinos list covers the iOS side.
Can Maine players deposit with Apple Pay at offshore mobile casinos?
Rarely, and Maine players shouldn't count on it, because it isn't confirmed on the casinos' own banking pages. One third-party review lists Apple Pay and Google Pay at SlotoCash, but the casino's banking page doesn't. Cards often decline at gambling merchants, so many Maine players use crypto from a phone wallet. Check the cashier before relying on any method. Our Apple Pay casinos page has the details.
How do I block casino sites on my phone in Maine?
Maine players can install a blocker and use the casino's own tools. Gamban blocks gambling sites and apps for $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, and it's on both main app stores. Casinos such as Silver Oak also offer deposit limits, cool-offs and self-exclusion. Our Gamban page explains setup.
Are sweepstakes casino apps allowed in Maine?
No, not with cash-redeemable coins. LD 2007 bans online sweepstakes games in Maine from July 2026, with civil fines of $10,000 to $100,000. Sources differ on the exact start date, July 29 or July 14. Many sweepstakes brands now block Maine. Our Maine sweepstakes casinos page lists which brands exclude the state.
Are the DraftKings and FanDuel casino apps available in Maine?
Not for casino games yet. Third-party reports name DraftKings as the expected online casino partner of the Penobscot Nation and FanDuel as the partner of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, with Caesars lined up for the Passamaquoddy Tribe. Those tribal casinos need a chapter 39 license under LD 1164, and none had launched by October 2026. Sports betting is licensed separately under chapter 35, so a sportsbook app being live doesn't mean casino games are. See our Maine sports betting page.
What is the minimum deposit at a mobile casino for Maine players?
Five dollars is the lowest published figure, using Bitcoin Lightning. SlotoCash and Miami Club list $5 Lightning deposits on their own banking pages, and third-party reviews report the same at Decode. Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash usually start at $10, cards and standard Bitcoin at $25, and Silver Oak's deposits start at $30. Bonus minimums can be higher than banking minimums, so read the offer before you send money. Our $5 deposit casinos list compares the low-stakes options.
How do I cash out from a mobile casino in Maine?
Most Maine players cash out by Bitcoin to a wallet app on the same phone. SlotoCash pays Bitcoin from $100 with no fee in about two business days, and Silver Oak lists Bitcoin from $50 to $2,500 in 7–10 days after its review period. Bank wires and courier checks are slower and carry fees. Cards generally can't receive payouts. Verify your account first, because no partner pays before identity checks. Our withdrawal guide walks through the cashier steps.
Do I need to verify my ID on a phone at an offshore casino from Maine?
Yes, identity checks apply whatever device you use. SlotoCash asks for a photo ID and a recent utility bill once before the first payout. Silver Oak's terms list a government photo ID, both sides of cards used in the last three months, a selfie holding your ID and a utility bill from the last three months. A phone camera makes the uploads quick, but blurry or cropped photos are a common reason documents get rejected. Our account verification guide lists what to send.
What happens to a Maine player's mobile casino balance if the account goes unused?
It can be removed after a set period without a login. SlotoCash's terms void balances after 12 consecutive months without a login, though management may restore them. Miami Club removes the real-money balance after 12 months of no login, reinstatable on request, and accounts that never deposited lose their balance after 60 days. Silver Oak treats accounts as inactive after two years and may delete them after an email notice. Withdraw what you can before you stop playing. Our dormant accounts guide explains the rules.
Can I contact casino support from my phone in Maine?
Yes, all the partners on our Maine pages list live chat that works in a mobile browser. SlotoCash offers 24/7 live chat and a scheduled callback instead of a phone number. Miami Club lists 24/7 live chat on every page, and Silver Oak gives 24/7 support with an email reply within 48 hours. None can escalate your problem to a Maine regulator, because the GCU says it can't help with unlicensed sites. Save chat transcripts as screenshots. Our customer support guide covers what to ask.
Will Maine's tribal online casinos have mobile apps?
Probably, since LD 1164 authorizes internet gaming under 8 M.R.S. chapter 39, which would cover phone apps, but nothing is confirmed. The Gambling Control Unit's proposed Chapter 70 rules set 21 as the online casino age, limit operator licenses to federally recognized Maine tribes at a $50,000 fee, and list their effective date as to be announced. Third-party reports expect a launch in 2027 or later. Until then, no casino app holds a Maine license. Our Maine gambling laws page follows the rulemaking.
Can I play live dealer games on my phone in Maine?
Not at most of our partner casinos, so Maine players shouldn't expect them. SlotoCash and Silver Oak don't mention live dealer games on their own sites, and third-party reviews list none at Miami Club, Planet 7, Royal Ace or Slot Madness. One review of SlotoCash lists live dealer, which conflicts with the casino's site. RTG-powered lobbies focus on slots, video poker and digital table games instead. Check the lobby on your phone before depositing. Our answer on whether RTG casinos have live dealer explains why.
