Mobile casinos in Ohio come in two very different forms: state-licensed sports betting and daily fantasy apps, which are legal, and real money casino sites, which aren't licensed in Ohio and run offshore. Here's what you can legally do on a phone in Ohio, how browser play at offshore casinos works, and how to stay secure and in control.

Are mobile casinos legal in Ohio?
Not for casino games. Ohio hasn't legalized online casinos, so there is no state-licensed casino app for slots, blackjack or roulette, whatever phone you use. The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) does license mobile sports betting, live since January 1, 2023, and it regulates daily fantasy apps. Our Ohio online casino hub has the full legal picture, and the state-by-state guide shows which states license casino apps.
A bill would change this. HB 298 would allow online casino games through Ohio's 11 casinos and racinos, but third-party reporting says it has been in the House Finance Committee since May 21, 2025. Until it passes, any real money casino you reach on your phone from Ohio is offshore. The OCCC's 2024 annual report (opens in a new tab) says illegal sites carry no consumer protections.
The offshore casinos that market to Ohio mostly run as instant-play websites built for phone screens rather than as apps in the App Store or Google Play. You open the site in Safari or Chrome, log in and play. Our explainer on why casino apps aren't in the app stores covers the background, and instant play vs download compares the formats.

Casino's own site and reviews
Browser play has some practical upsides: nothing to install, updates happen on the casino's side, and you can delete access by clearing a bookmark. The downside is that the site, not an app store, is your only check on whether you're on the real address.
How to set up a mobile casino shortcut safely
SlotoCash's own site suggests adding a home-screen shortcut instead of an app. The same approach works for any browser-based casino, and our iPhone and Android guides walk through each platform.
Find the casino's official address from a source you trust, such as its review page, rather than a search ad.
Open it in your phone's main browser and check the address bar carefully for misspellings.
Use your browser's option to add the page to your home screen, and name the shortcut clearly.
Turn on two-factor authentication if the casino offers it, and use a unique password.
Set any deposit or time limits the casino offers before your first deposit.
Fake casino apps and unofficial mirror sites
Because the real offshore brands don't publish app-store apps, an "official app" listing for one of them deserves suspicion. Unofficial mirror sites also copy brand names and post bonus codes and terms that the casinos themselves haven't confirmed. We don't treat mirror claims as fact, and you shouldn't either.
Never download a casino app from a link in a text, email or social message.
Don't enter card or wallet details on a site you reached through a pop-up.
Check that support contacts match those on the casino's own site.
Card deposits at offshore casinos are often declined by US banks, which commonly block gambling transactions coded MCC 7995, so many phone players use crypto wallets instead. Silver Oak, for instance, lists Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum deposits from $30 with no fee, while card deposits carry 3–10% fees and a $1,000 maximum. SlotoCash lists Bitcoin Lightning deposits from $5.
Withdrawals are slower and capped. Silver Oak publishes a 7–10 business day review followed by 7–10 business days for payment, with weekly limits from $2,500. Third-party reviews report Planet 7 caps withdrawals at $2,500 a week and describe pending periods of 5–7 days. Our crypto casinos in Ohio page compares crypto banking in detail, and fast payout casinos in Ohio ranks speed.
Limits and blocking tools on your phone
A casino in your pocket is open around the clock, which is why limits matter more on mobile. The tools on offer vary widely by casino:
SlotoCash offers deposit and time limits on request and self-exclusion for at least six months by email.
Planet 7: one third-party review lists no in-site tools at all; check with support.
Blocking software works across every site. The OCCC recommends Gamban for blocking unregulated online casinos, social casinos and online poker; its published pricing (opens in a new tab) is $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, with apps on the App Store and Google Play. See our Gamban guide for setup.
What other state regulators have said about these sites
Ohio hasn't named our partners in published actions in our sources, but Michigan has. The Michigan Gaming Control Board named Silver Oak and Planet 7 in an April 9, 2025 release (opens in a new tab) on cease-and-desist letters to unlicensed operators, and named SlotoCash in an October 8, 2026 release (opens in a new tab). The board calls these illegal offshore operators in Michigan.
These actions apply to Michigan, which licenses its own online casinos, but they're a useful signal of how state regulators view offshore sites. Our cease-and-desist letters page tracks them.

Mobile-friendly casinos with an offer via our links
These three partners run browser-based mobile casinos, which is why they fit this page. They're offshore and not licensed by Ohio or any US state, and Ohio hasn't legalized online casinos, so check state law before playing. Without a state license there's no OCCC complaint route and no state protection of balances. We earn a commission through these links and rank partners in a commercial order. New players only, 21+ (18+ where allowed); terms apply.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Its own site lists ten 100% matches up to $10,000 with no free spins, 30x on the offer page but 40x for slots in its terms (60x for blackjack and video poker), deposits from $30 and no max withdrawal. It names its license: Primrose Media Limited, Anjouan, though third parties report otherwise.
Planet 7 Casino: $2,750 Welcome Bonus + 45 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviews report a 200% match at 30x bonus plus deposit on slots, a $1,000 max cashout and a $30 card minimum. Its own terms couldn't be read, and unofficial mirror site claims aren't treated as confirmed.
SlotoCash Casino: $6,000 Welcome Bonus + 60 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's site advertises $7,777 + 300 spins over five deposits at 25x deposit plus bonus, with a $20 minimum per bonus and no max cashout.
Mobile and desktop bonuses are slot-focused; table games are often excluded or weighted lower, and the terms shown at sign-up apply. Compare the full terms in our Ohio casino bonuses page or the Planet 7 review.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a legal casino app in Ohio?
No. Ohio hasn't legalized online casino games, so no casino app is licensed by the state. The legal gambling apps in Ohio are sportsbooks, licensed since January 1, 2023, and daily fantasy apps regulated by the OCCC. Any real money casino reached on a phone from Ohio is offshore. Our is there a casino app answer explains the national picture.
Can I play real money casino games on my phone in Ohio?
Offshore casinos will let you play in your phone's browser, but none is licensed by Ohio, so there's no OCCC complaint route or state protection of your balance. State law decides whether that play is lawful, and Ohio hasn't authorized online casinos. Read our offshore casino legality guide before deciding.
Why can't Ohio players find these casinos in the App Store?
The offshore casinos that market to Ohio run as browser sites rather than store apps; SlotoCash, for example, says no app or software is required. That means an app claiming to be one of them should be treated with suspicion. Our why no casino app in the App Store answer covers the background.
Is it safe to play at a mobile casino on public Wi-Fi?
It's better to avoid it. Logging in to any account that holds money over public Wi-Fi adds risk, so use mobile data or a trusted home network, a unique password and two-factor authentication where offered. This is about account security, not getting around any restriction. Our two-factor authentication guide explains setup.
Do mobile casinos for Ohio players have the same games as desktop?
Mostly, but not always, for Ohio players. Silver Oak says more than 200 games are available on mobile, naming titles such as Storm Lords, T-Rex II and Cash Bandits 3, while its full desktop library may be larger. Check the casino's mobile lobby for a specific game. Our online slots in Ohio page covers the RTG titles you'll see most.
Are there mobile-only casino bonuses?
Some casinos run mobile promotions, but no separate mobile-only welcome package is published by the partners on this page. Whatever the device, bonuses are slot-focused and carry wagering, so check the terms before opting in. Our mobile bonus guide explains how device-specific offers usually work and what to look for in the terms.
How do I block casino sites on my phone in Ohio?
In Ohio, install blocking software such as Gamban, which the OCCC recommends for blocking unregulated online casinos, social casinos and online poker. Gamban's published price is $6.99 a month or $41.99 a year after a 7-day trial, with apps on both main stores. Pair it with the casino's own self-exclusion. Our blocking software guide compares the options.
Can I bet on sports on my phone in Ohio?
Yes. Mobile sports betting has been legal and licensed by the Ohio Casino Control Commission since January 1, 2023. Use an OCCC-licensed app rather than an offshore sportsbook, so disputes have a state regulator behind them, and set a deposit limit in the app from the start. Our Ohio sports betting page covers the launch, licensing, taxes and daily fantasy.
Can I play daily fantasy sports on my phone in Ohio?
Yes, daily fantasy apps are legal in Ohio and regulated by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, which has overseen paid fantasy contests since 2018. The commission's 2024 annual report lists 18 active operators and a minimum age of 18, which is lower than the 21+ we apply to casino offers. Because fantasy operators hold Ohio approval, disputes have a state regulator behind them, unlike offshore casino sites. Check the app's terms for entry limits and fees before you join contests. Our daily fantasy guide and daily fantasy sports laws page explain how contests and state rules work.
Are sweepstakes casino apps legal in Ohio?
Ohio hasn't banned sweepstakes casinos, so their apps aren't specifically prohibited, but no Ohio agency licenses them and HB 298 would add a ban if it passed. Some brands already leave Ohio out: third-party reviews list Ohio among the excluded states for Crown Coins, which has an iOS app only, and for Hello Millions, which is web only. Other brands' lists don't name Ohio, but they change often, so check the rules before buying coins. Gold Coin purchases are real money. Our Ohio sweepstakes casinos page and sweepstakes vs real money guide explain the model.
What is the minimum deposit at mobile casinos for Ohio players?
It ranges from about $5 to $30 at the partners on this page, depending on the method. SlotoCash lists Bitcoin Lightning deposits from $5, which is the lowest here. Silver Oak takes Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum from $30 with no fee, while its card deposits carry 3% to 10% fees with a $1,000 maximum. Third-party reviews give Planet 7 a $30 card minimum. Card deposits often fail anyway, because US banks commonly block gambling code MCC 7995. A bonus may need a larger deposit. Compare entry points on minimum deposits and the best low deposit casinos list.
How long do mobile casino withdrawals take for Ohio players?
Withdrawals don't speed up on a phone, and at the partners here they range from about two business days to several weeks. SlotoCash states Bitcoin processing within 48 business hours. Silver Oak publishes a 7 to 10 business day review followed by 7 to 10 business days for payment, with weekly limits from $2,500. Third-party reviews describe Planet 7 pending periods of 5 to 7 days and a $2,500 weekly cap. Verifying your ID before the first request avoids the most common delay. Compare published times on fast payout casinos in Ohio and read how long casino withdrawals take.
Does Planet 7 have a mobile app for Ohio players?
No, third-party reviews say Planet 7 has no mobile app and runs as instant play in a phone browser, with a separate download client for computers. Its own terms couldn't be read for our checks, and casino.guru reports that it accepts players from Ohio. Planet 7 isn't licensed by Ohio or any US state; its license is reported as Costa Rica by AskGamblers and as none by other reviewers. The Michigan Gaming Control Board named it in an April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release. Any 'official Planet 7 app' listing should be treated as suspect. Read is Planet 7 legit and the Planet 7 review.
What should I do if I lose a phone with a casino account on it in Ohio?
Change your casino password from another device straight away, then contact the casino's support to report the lost phone and ask what it can do to secure the account. Do the same for your email account, since password resets go there, and for any crypto wallet app. If the wallet's recovery phrase was stored on the phone, move the funds to a new wallet as soon as you can. Use your phone's own remote-lock or erase feature. No Ohio regulator can help with an offshore account, so act quickly yourself. Our casino account security and two-factor authentication guides cover prevention.
