What is instant play? It's a way of playing casino games straight in your web browser, on a phone or computer, without downloading or installing software. The games stream from the casino's servers each time you open them. Most offshore casinos that take US players, including all seven of our partners, work this way on phones.
Instant play means browser-based casino games with no download or install.
It works the same on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers with a modern browser.
Silver Oak's own site calls its browser version Webplay and also offers a Windows download client.
Don't confuse it with instant withdrawal, free play or demo mode.
The house edge and bonus terms are identical whether you play in a browser or a download client.

What is instant play at an online casino?
Put simply, it's the browser version of an online casino. You open the casino's address, sign in, and the lobby and games load inside the browser window. Nothing sits on your device except the usual browser data, so there's no program to update or uninstall.
The term dates from when many casinos offered a downloadable desktop program as their main product and a browser version as the quick alternative. Today the browser version is the main product at most offshore casinos. Our instant play glossary entry gives the short definition, and the questions hub has related answers.
How instant play works behind the screen
Every spin or hand is decided on the casino's side by a random number generator, and your browser simply displays the result. That's why the same account, balance and game history appear whether you sign in on a phone or a laptop.
You open the casino's site and sign in to your account.
The lobby loads the game list from the casino's servers.
Choosing a game loads its graphics and sound into the browser.
Each bet goes to the casino's server, where the outcome is generated.
The result and your new balance come back to the screen.
Because outcomes come from the server, a browser version can't be 'looser' or 'tighter' than a download version of the same game. Our guide to how RNGs work explains the random number side.
Silver Oak's mobile casino page (opens in a new tab) describes a browser casino it calls Webplay, available on iPhone, Android and tablets, alongside a downloadable client for Windows PCs. It runs RealTime Gaming software, according to the same page.
For Planet 7, the details come from third-party reviews only. Blockonomi's Planet 7 review (opens in a new tab) describes instant play in the mobile browser on Android and iOS, no downloadable phone app, and a separate download client. Third-party sources list Royal Ace under instant play, mobile and download platform types.
Instant play works on every common device, but the details differ a little. The table pulls together what the casinos and third-party reviewers publish about each platform at our partners.

Pros and cons of instant play
Pros
Nothing to install, so it works on shared or work-restricted computers you're allowed to use.
One account and balance across phone, tablet and computer.
Updates and new games appear without any action from you.
Easy to remove: clear the bookmark, history and saved login.
Cons
Needs a steady internet connection for every bet.
Older browsers or low-memory phones can struggle with graphics-heavy slots.
Copycat sites can imitate the browser version, so the address matters.
Quick access can make it harder to stick to limits.
Why instant play isn't instant withdrawal or free play
The word 'instant' does a lot of work in casino marketing. The term only describes how games load. It says nothing about how quickly you're paid.
Instant withdrawal refers to payout speed, and published processing times at our partners run from 48 hours to several business days. See how long casino withdrawals take.
Free play or demo mode means play money with no cash value. Many instant play lobbies offer it, but it's separate from real-money play. Our demo mode guide explains it.
No-download bonuses don't exist as a separate category; welcome offers apply the same way in the browser.
How to start playing instant play casino games
Check your state's law first; our states hub has every state.
Open the casino's own address in an up-to-date browser such as Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Create one account with your real details, since verification comes before any payout.
Ask support to set a deposit limit before you deposit.
Try a game in demo mode, if the lobby offers it, to learn the rules.
Sign out when you finish, especially on a shared device.
Does instant play change the odds or bonus terms?
No. The house edge is set by the game, not by how you reach it. If a slot returns 96% over the long run, expected loss on $500 of total bets is $500 × 4% = $20, in the browser or in a download client.
Browser play doesn't change the legal picture. State law decides whether online casino play is lawful for you, and federal UIGEA targets the payment side of unlawful internet gambling rather than the player's bet. Online casinos are state-licensed only in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
All three partners below run as instant play in a browser. They pay us commission and our order is commercial. They are offshore and not licensed by any US state, so check your state's law first. New players only, 21+ (18+ where allowed), terms apply.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's own promotion page lists a 100% match on each of the first ten deposits at 30x playthrough (60x on blackjack and video poker), while its general terms say 40x on slots, so the figures conflict. It states no max withdrawal on that offer, and deposits start at $30.
Planet 7 Casino: $2,750 Welcome Bonus + 45 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party listings report a 200% match with code WELCOME200, 30x deposit plus bonus on slots and a $1,000 max cashout, with a $30 card minimum; these terms aren't confirmed on the casino's own site.
Royal Ace Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 35 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party sources disagree: one lists 200% up to $4,000 at 30x on slots with max cashout of 10x the deposit, another 250% up to $2,500 plus 35 spins. Third-party reviews report it doesn't accept Ohio players.
Bonuses are slot-focused, and table games are often excluded or weighted lower. Codes change, and the terms shown at sign-up apply.

Frequently asked questions
What does instant play mean at a casino?
It means the casino runs in your web browser with no software to install. You sign in at the casino's site and games load directly in the browser window on a phone, tablet or computer. Results are generated on the casino's servers, so your balance stays the same across devices. Our mobile casino guide explains how it works on phones.
Is instant play at an offshore casino safe to use?
The format is as safe as the casino behind it and the address you use. Because nothing is installed, one risk disappears, but copycat sites can imitate a browser casino. Use the casino's own address, a strong password and two-factor sign-in where offered. Our casino account security guide lists the steps worth taking before you deposit.
Is instant play the same as mobile casino play?
Mostly. On phones, instant play is how offshore casinos work, since our partners don't publish store apps. The same browser version also runs on computers, so instant play covers more than mobile. State-licensed casinos in the seven licensing states may offer store apps as well. See is there a casino app for the full picture by state.
Can you win real money with instant play?
Yes, instant play can be real-money play, and wins and losses are settled to your account the same way as in any other format. You can also lose real money, and the house edge makes losses the likely result over time. Our answer to can you win real money online explains the odds honestly and in dollars.
Do instant play casinos have fewer games than download casinos?
Not usually today. Browser versions at RTG casinos such as Silver Oak carry the main lobby, and Silver Oak's mobile page describes its RTG games in the browser. Game counts aren't published consistently, so check the casino's lobby for a specific title. Our RealTime Gaming page covers the provider most of our partners run.
Why won't instant play games load on my phone?
The usual causes are a weak connection, an outdated browser or a full cache. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, updating the browser, clearing its cache or trying another browser. If a single game fails while others work, contact the casino's support. Our playing on Android guide has more troubleshooting ideas for phones.
Do I get a different bonus for instant play?
No. Welcome offers and bonus terms belong to your account, so wagering, max cashout and game weighting are the same in the browser or a download client. A few casinos run occasional device-specific promotions, but our partners' published terms don't describe one. Read our mobile bonus page to see how these offers are usually structured and checked.
Is instant play legal in the US?
The format doesn't decide legality; your state's law does. Online casinos are state-licensed only in seven states, and offshore casinos aren't licensed by any US state, whether you play in a browser or a download client. The is online gambling legal in the US page explains federal and state rules in plain terms.
Does SlotoCash have instant play?
Yes. SlotoCash's own site describes instant play in the browser and says there is currently no app or software required, and it suggests adding a home-screen shortcut so the casino opens like an app. That means the same account works on a phone, tablet or computer. SlotoCash is offshore and not licensed by any US state, and Michigan's Gaming Control Board named it in an October 8, 2026 cease-and-desist release. Our SlotoCash mobile page covers its phone setup, and the SlotoCash review covers banking and terms.
Can I use instant play casinos on an iPhone?
Yes, instant play is how offshore casinos reach iPhone users, since our partners don't publish App Store apps. Silver Oak's own mobile page lists browser play on iPhone, Android and tablets under its Webplay name. Third-party reviews describe Planet 7 as instant play in iOS and Android browsers, and Slot Madness as browser play on iPhone in Safari and Chrome. Use the casino's own address and an up-to-date browser. Our playing on iPhone guide has setup tips, and best iPhone casinos compares the partners on mobile.
Can I play instant play casino games on a Mac?
Yes. Instant play runs in any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome and Firefox on a Mac, so Mac users don't need a download. That matters because downloadable casino clients are usually Windows only; Silver Oak's own mobile page, for example, describes its downloadable client as a Windows PC program alongside the browser version. Your balance and game history are the same whichever device you sign in on. Read what a download casino is and our instant play vs download guide for the full comparison.
Does Miami Club Casino have instant play or an app?
Miami Club's own site describes a mobile-friendly casino available for mobile devices and desktop, with no app mentioned, so play is through the browser. It runs WGS (Wager Gaming) software rather than RTG. On eligibility, section 1.6 of its Terms of Use (v2.1, September 28, 2026) lists the United States as a prohibited jurisdiction, while the site owner's affiliate program confirms US players are accepted, so confirm at sign-up. Michigan's board named Miami Club on August 14, 2025. See our Miami Club mobile page and the Miami Club review.
Is instant play casino gambling legal in West Virginia?
Yes, at state-licensed sites. West Virginia authorizes real-money online casinos under its Lottery Interactive Wagering Act, regulated by the West Virginia Lottery Commission, and state law caps licenses at five (W. Va. Code §29-22E-6). Interactive wagering there is reported to be for players 21 and over. Licensed sites can run in a browser too, but offshore casinos, including our partners, hold no West Virginia license and offer no state protection. Our West Virginia online casinos page covers the licensed market, and player protections offshore vs licensed sets out the differences.
How do I tell a real instant play casino from a copycat site?
Type the casino's address yourself or use a bookmark you saved from a trusted source, because unofficial mirror sites can copy a browser casino's look. Check the address carefully before you sign in, never enter your password from a link in an unsolicited email or message, and turn on two-factor sign-in where the casino offers it. If something looks off, contact the casino's support through its own site. Our casino mirror sites guide and phishing scams guide explain the warning signs.
