Regulator actionIllinois cease-and-desist, February 4, 2026
Is RealPrize legit? It's a real sweepstakes casino run by Realplay Tech Inc., with a prize redemption program described by reviewers, but it holds no gambling license, the Illinois Gaming Board sent it a cease-and-desist letter on February 4, 2026, and ten states have enacted bans on dual-currency sweepstakes sites like it. Here's the evidence on each point.
Operator: Realplay Tech Inc., with affiliates Realplay Ltd., Realplay (EU) Limited and Clearline Innovations Ltd., per RealPrize's terms.
It runs on a sweepstakes model with Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins, not under a gambling license.
The Illinois Gaming Board sent RealPrize a cease-and-desist letter dated February 4, 2026.
Its own excluded-state lists conflict (15 states on the sign-up page, seven in its terms).
Three ban states, Indiana, Maine and Oklahoma, weren't on its 15-state list as checked.
Is RealPrize legit? The short answer
RealPrize is a genuine business with a named operator, a US address and an active prize program. Whether it's legit for you depends on where you live. Several states treat dual-currency sweepstakes casinos as illegal gambling, and Illinois has formally told RealPrize to stop.
This page focuses on legitimacy: the company, the model, regulator action and state law. For the welcome coins, see the RealPrize promo code page, and for an overview, our RealPrize review.

Who owns RealPrize?
RealPrize's terms of use name Realplay Tech Inc. as the operator, together with affiliates Realplay Ltd., Realplay (EU) Limited and Clearline Innovations Ltd. A RealPrize page gives the address as 8 The Green #15134, Delaware 19901.
A sweepstakes review site says RealPrize launched in 2023 and lists games from providers including Evolution, NetEnt, Playson and Spinomenal. Those are third-party details, so the lobby may differ. Naming the companies behind a site is a basic transparency step that not every sweepstakes brand takes, but it's not the same as a license.
How the RealPrize sweepstakes model works
RealPrize describes itself as operating under a sweepstakes model rather than a gambling license. Players use two currencies: Gold Coins for entertainment play, which can't be redeemed, and Sweeps Coins, which can be redeemed for prizes. Sweeps Coins come free with Gold Coin purchases and through no-purchase routes.
The argument is that because you can get Sweeps Coins without paying, the games aren't gambling. That's the legal theory sweepstakes sites rely on, and it's why they say they aren't real-money casinos. Lawmakers in a growing list of states have rejected it for casino-style games, as the next sections show. Read are sweepstakes casinos legal and sweepstakes casino laws for the full debate.
Illinois hasn't banned sweepstakes casinos by statute, but the board's position is that Illinois law prohibits operating internet gambling sites. RealPrize's own 15-state exclusion list, as checked on October 28, 2026, didn't include Illinois, though a review site's list did. See our Illinois sweepstakes casinos page and the Illinois hub.
For Michigan, RealPrize doesn't appear in the board's April 9, 2025, August 14, 2025 or October 8, 2026 releases. Michigan is on every RealPrize exclusion list, so players there aren't meant to be served at all.
Sweepstakes casino bans vs RealPrize's excluded states
Ten states have enacted bans on dual-currency sweepstakes casinos. The table checks each one against RealPrize's own 15-state sign-up list. Dates follow the enacted laws; the ban list itself comes from a mix of official and third-party sources.

RealPrize's Terms of Use v2.5 (July 28, 2026) list just seven excluded states: Connecticut, Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New York and Washington. A review site lists 19, adding Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maine and Oklahoma to the sign-up list and dropping West Virginia. With three sources disagreeing, check the current terms yourself. InfoLawGroup's 2026 summary (opens in a new tab) covers the newest bans, and our sweepstakes bans page tracks them.
RealPrize excluded states: three lists side by side
RealPrize's legitimacy problem is partly a paperwork problem. Its sign-up page, its Terms of Use and a review site each give a different set of excluded states. Putting them together shows where players are most likely to get caught out.

Only seven states appear on all three lists. The last row is the one that matters most: Indiana, Maine and Oklahoma all have sweepstakes bans in force, yet neither of RealPrize's own pages names them. Illinois sits on the review site's list only, despite the board's letter. If you live in any state outside the top row, read the live terms on the day you sign up and treat a missing name as a question, not an answer.
Laid out in order, RealPrize's record shows how quickly the ground has moved under sweepstakes brands since it launched.

The pattern is a business that keeps operating while state law tightens around it. That doesn't make RealPrize a bad actor, but it means a balance you build today could be affected by a law passed next session. Redeem eligible coins promptly, and see the RealPrize promo code page for what the welcome coins are worth before you buy.
Does RealPrize pay out prizes?
A sweepstakes review site reports advertised redemption times of 1 to 5 days, with minimums of 45 Sweeps Coins for gift cards through Prizeout and 100 Sweeps Coins for cash. Those are third-party figures, and crypto redemptions aren't reported. Our RealPrize redemption page walks through the process.
A prize program that works is one sign of a functioning business. It doesn't settle the legal question, and if a state bans the model, an operator's exit can leave balances in limbo. That risk is part of judging any sweepstakes site; see sweepstakes vs real money casinos.

Some readers comparing sweepstakes sites also look at real-money casinos. Ours are offshore: no US state licenses them, they aren't a legal workaround for a sweepstakes ban, and you should check your state's law first. We don't show offers on our Michigan, Oklahoma or Washington pages. We earn a commission from these links.
SlotoCash Casino: $6,000 Welcome Bonus + 60 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Its own site advertises $7,777 + 300 spins over five deposits at 25x deposit plus bonus, $20 minimum per bonus and no max cashout. It shows no license; third parties report Curaçao and Deckmedia N.V. Michigan named it on October 8, 2026. See is SlotoCash legit.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). It's the only partner that publishes its license (Primrose Media Limited, Anjouan). Its site advertises 100% on each of ten deposits with 30x on the offer page but 40x in its terms, and lists deposits from $30. Michigan named it on April 9, 2025. See is Silver Oak legit.
Decode Casino: $5,000 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Its terms couldn't be read directly; third-party reviews report code DECODE111 (111% up to $1,111, 25x deposit plus bonus, $25 minimum) and say it refuses Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington. See is Decode legit.
Bonuses at all three are slot-focused; table games are often excluded or weighted lower. The terms shown at sign-up apply, and the house edge means losses are likely over time.

Frequently asked questions
Is RealPrize a real company?
Yes. RealPrize's terms name Realplay Tech Inc. as operator, with affiliates Realplay Ltd., Realplay (EU) Limited and Clearline Innovations Ltd., and a page on its site gives a Delaware address. A review site says it launched in 2023. Being a real company doesn't make it lawful everywhere, though. See our RealPrize review for the full profile.
Is RealPrize licensed?
No, RealPrize doesn't hold a gambling license; it operates under a sweepstakes model with Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. Sweepstakes sites argue that free entry routes keep them outside gambling law, but several states have banned dual-currency casino games regardless. Read are sweepstakes casinos legal for how that argument is faring.
Did Illinois order RealPrize to stop?
Yes, the Illinois Gaming Board sent RealPrize a cease-and-desist letter dated February 4, 2026, one of more than 60 letters to online casino and sweepstakes platforms announced the next day. Illinois hasn't banned sweepstakes by statute but says its law prohibits internet gambling sites. See Illinois sweepstakes casinos for the state's stance.
Which states have banned sites like RealPrize?
Ten states have enacted bans on dual-currency sweepstakes casinos: Connecticut, Montana, New Jersey, New York, California, Tennessee, Indiana, Maine, Louisiana and Oklahoma, the last effective November 1, 2026. Indiana, Maine and Oklahoma weren't on RealPrize's own 15-state list as checked on October 28, 2026. Our sweepstakes bans page lists each law.
Why do RealPrize's excluded-state lists differ?
Its sign-up page lists 15 states, its Terms of Use v2.5 from July 28, 2026 list seven, and a review site lists 19. Sweepstakes exclusion lists change often as new bans take effect, and pages aren't always updated together. Treat the strictest list as a warning sign and check the live terms. See which states ban sweepstakes casinos.
How quickly does RealPrize pay out prizes?
A sweepstakes review site reports advertised redemption times of 1 to 5 days, and minimums of 45 Sweeps Coins for Prizeout gift cards and 100 Sweeps Coins for cash. Those are third-party figures, not RealPrize's published terms. Check the redemption rules before you buy coins. Our RealPrize redemption page explains the steps.
Is RealPrize safer than an offshore real-money casino?
They carry different risks. RealPrize names a US-addressed operator but has no license and faces state bans and an Illinois order. Offshore real-money casinos take cash deposits under foreign licenses or none, with no state regulator either. Neither has state-backed protection. Our guide to sweepstakes vs real money casinos compares them.
Are RealPrize prizes taxable?
Yes, prizes redeemed from sweepstakes can count as taxable income. The IRS sets W-2G reporting rules for sweepstakes winnings that meet the threshold and are at least 300 times the wager, but income below that is still reportable. Keep records of redemptions and purchases. See our gambling taxes page for the rules.
Is RealPrize a scam?
Nothing on record shows RealPrize is a scam: its terms name Realplay Tech Inc. and three affiliated companies, it gives a Delaware mailing address, and a review site describes working gift card and cash redemptions. The concerns are legal and administrative instead. The Illinois Gaming Board ordered it to stop on February 4, 2026, it holds no gambling license, and its own excluded-state lists contradict each other. Those are reasons for caution, not signs of fraud. Our guide to spotting a rogue casino lists the red flags that do point to a scam.
Is there a RealPrize app?
Reports conflict. A sweepstakes apps directory lists a RealPrize iOS app, while the same site's RealPrize review says there is no dedicated app, and no Android app is reported either way. If you find a listing, download only from the official App Store page, never from a link in a message. Browser play works on any phone, and your coins and redemptions sit in the account rather than the device. Our page on whether there is a casino app explains how app stores treat these products.
Is RealPrize legal in Indiana?
Indiana banned online dual-currency sweepstakes games under HEA 1052, effective July 1, 2026, with a civil penalty of $100,000 per violation enforced by the Indiana Gaming Commission. Even so, Indiana wasn't on RealPrize's own 15-state sign-up list or its seven-state terms as checked on October 28, 2026; only a review site's list includes it. Indiana players shouldn't read that gap as permission. The state law is the rule that counts. Our Indiana sweepstakes casinos page explains HEA 1052.
Why does RealPrize exclude Delaware when its address is there?
RealPrize's Delaware address, 8 The Green #15134, is a mailing address for a company that serves players elsewhere; it doesn't mean Delaware approves the site. Delaware runs its own state online casinos, and its Division of Gaming Enforcement has taken a hard line on sweepstakes, ordering VGW's LuckyLand to stop from April 2, 2025. RealPrize's sign-up page lists Delaware as excluded, though its Terms of Use v2.5 don't. Our Delaware sweepstakes casinos page sets out the state's position.
Is RealPrize as legit as Stake.us?
Both received Illinois Gaming Board cease-and-desist letters dated February 4, 2026, so they share the same Illinois problem. Stake.us has more actions on record, with Maryland and Arizona letters as well, and excludes 22 states on its own help page. RealPrize names its operator, Realplay Tech Inc., in its own terms, while Stake.us's operator, Sweepsteaks Limited of Cyprus, comes from a third-party review. Neither holds a gambling license. Compare the record in our Stake.us legitimacy check.
Does RealPrize verify your identity before paying prizes?
Yes, expect identity checks before a RealPrize redemption, because prize eligibility depends on your age, your state and who owns the account. The specific documents aren't listed in the sources we cite, but photo ID and proof of address are the usual pair. Register with your legal name and current address from the start, since mismatches are the most common reason a prize is held. Cash prizes start at a reported 100 SC. Our guide on how to verify your casino account covers secure uploads.
What happens to my RealPrize coins if I move to an excluded state?
Prize eligibility depends on where you live, so moving to a state on RealPrize's list would normally end Sweeps Coin play and redemptions there. Read the terms for how balances are handled, and if you have 45 SC or more before you move, redeem while you're still eligible. Don't keep playing with your old address; identity checks at redemption compare your documents with your location. Our guide to traveling and online casinos explains why location rules apply wherever you are.
