Redemptions start at 10 SC for gift cards and 100 SC for cash, and a reported 21 states can't play.
Spree is a dual-currency sweepstakes casino run by Play Spree Ltd of Douglas, Isle of Man; no US state licenses it.
Spree's own guide lists 25,000 GC + 2.5 Spree Coins on registration, with no purchase or code, after email verification.
Reported redemption minimums: 10 SC for a gift card, 100 SC for cash.
A third-party list shows 21 excluded states, from Alabama to West Virginia; Oklahoma's November 1, 2026 ban isn't on it.
Spree review: who runs Spree and what it is
Spree is a social casino that runs as a sweepstakes promotion. Its sign-up guide names Play Spree Ltd, registered in the Isle of Man under number 021218V, at Third Floor, 34 Hope Street, Douglas, IM1 1AP. No US gaming regulator licenses it, and neither does the Isle of Man for this product; its legal footing is the sweepstakes model.
Spree is newer than most brands in our casino reviews. A sweepstakes review site dates its launch to 2024, while a comparison post on a rival brand's blog says it appeared around 2023. Either way, the track record is short, and no regulator action naming Spree is recorded so far.

Spree Coins and Gold Coins: how Spree works
Spree uses the same two-currency setup as every sweepstakes casino, with one naming twist. Gold Coins (GC) are for play only and can't be cashed in. The redeemable currency is called Spree Coins, shortened to SC, and only those can be exchanged for prizes. Our explainer on Sweeps Coins covers the model in general.
Sweepstakes casinos say that because you can get SC without buying anything, their games aren't gambling. Some states accept that argument; a growing list doesn't. The difference between sweepstakes and real money play is mostly about how the law treats the prize, not about the games themselves, which look and work like slots.
Spree no deposit bonus: 25,000 GC + 2.5 Spree Coins
Spree's own sign-up tutorial says new players get 25,000 Gold Coins and 2.5 Spree Coins on registration. No purchase is needed and no code is required, but you must verify your email address first. That makes it one of the smaller sign-up amounts among sweepstakes brands, though it's published by Spree itself rather than an affiliate.
Check that your state isn't on Spree's excluded list (see the table further down).
Register an account in your own legal name, at the age the site's rules require.
Verify your email address, which Spree's guide says triggers the sign-up coins.
Confirm the 25,000 GC and 2.5 SC show in your balance before you buy any package.
Read the current sweeps rules for playthrough and redemption conditions before you play SC.
How far 2.5 SC gets you
The arithmetic is short. At the reported 10 SC gift card minimum, 2.5 SC leaves you 7.5 SC short. At the 100 SC cash minimum, you'd need another 97.5 SC. You can only close that gap by winning in SC play or collecting more coins through promotions, and slot-style games pay back less than you stake over time. Treat the sign-up coins as a no-cost look at the site, not a route to a prize. The same logic applies to no deposit bonuses at real-money casinos, which add wagering and cashout caps.
Spree promo code: do you need one?
No. Spree's sign-up guide says the welcome coins need no code, so you don't need to hunt for a Spree promo code to get them. Pages that promise a secret code for extra coins may be pushing an affiliate link with a different offer, or nothing at all. If a code ever matters, the terms shown at sign-up are the ones that count.
We track any confirmed changes on our Spree promo code page. For how codes work across casinos, and why they change so often, read our bonus codes guide.
Spree redemption: gift cards vs cash
Spree offers two prize routes, according to a sweepstakes review site citing Spree's rules updated in May 2026. Gift cards start at 10 SC and are reported to arrive in about 48 hours. Cash prizes start at 100 SC, and Spree advertises 2 to 10 days for those. The official rules and terms pages couldn't be read directly, so confirm these numbers on the site.

The low gift card floor is Spree's best feature. Most sweepstakes rivals set a single cash minimum of 50 SC or more, so a small winning balance can stay stuck. If you prefer cash, budget for the longer wait, and read our guide to casino gift cards and typical withdrawal times. Our Spree redemption page covers the process.
Spree restricted states: 21 on the reported list
A sweepstakes review site lists 21 states where Spree isn't available: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. Spree's own rules pages block automated reading, so this list is third-party and should be checked on the site.
Spree's list goes further than the law requires. Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky have no sweepstakes casino ban statute on record, yet Spree still excludes them and doesn't publish its reasons. The gap runs the other way too: Oklahoma banned dual-currency sweepstakes from November 1, 2026 under SB 1589, and the list doesn't show it yet. Players in Oklahoma City and Tulsa should check Oklahoma's sweepstakes position.

Dual-currency sweepstakes casinos banned by state law
Spree is a real company with a published registered address, and we found no regulator action or lawsuit naming it. That's a cleaner record than many sweepstakes brands. It doesn't make Spree a licensed casino, though: it holds no US state license, and its legality rests on the sweepstakes argument.
So the honest answer is: Spree looks legitimate as a business, and it's still a gray-area product in most states. For the full trust picture, see is Spree legit, and for the law, our guide to sweepstakes casino laws.
Spree games, software and mobile play
A sweepstakes review site lists four studios at Spree: BGaming, Habanero, Playson and Iconic21. That's a compact roster next to brands that list ten or more studios. No game list or count is recorded, so check the lobby for exact titles before you buy any coins.
There's no Spree app on record. You play in a phone or desktop browser, which works on iPhone and Android without a download. Our guide to playing on iPhone explains how to add a site shortcut to your home screen, and the instant play vs download explainer covers the trade-offs.
Playing Spree on a budget: the math
Spree's games behave like casino slots, so the same math applies. Over many spins, a game pays back less than you put in. If a slot returned 96% of stakes, for example, 100 SC of spins would cost about 4 SC on average, and 1,000 SC of spins would cost about 40 SC. Short sessions can swing either way, but the longer you play, the closer you get to that average loss.
Gold Coin packages cost real money even though the coins themselves don't. Set a monthly limit before you buy anything, never buy coins to chase a losing run, and take breaks. Our gambling budget guide and the house edge explainer show how to plan this.
If gambling stops being fun, call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738), or chat through NCPG's national helpline (opens in a new tab). Free blocking tools and self-exclusion options are listed in our responsible gambling section.
Spree prizes and federal tax
Gift cards and cash prizes you redeem from Spree are taxable income. The IRS's W-2G instructions include sweepstakes among payments with reporting rules, and for 2026 the threshold is $2,000 where the prize is at least 300 times the wager. Most Spree gift card redemptions will fall far below that, but they're still income you should report.
Keep a simple log of purchases, redemptions and dates. For how this fits with the 90% loss-deduction cap reported for 2026, see our gambling taxes page and check IRS guidance.
Spree vs other sweepstakes casinos
Spree trades a small sign-up bundle for a low gift card floor and a clean record so far. Here's how it lines up against two other brands we review, using each site's recorded facts.
Spree's standout point is its small 10 SC gift card cashout. Among our partners, the closest match is a low published withdrawal minimum, so these three come first. They're offshore real-money casinos, not licensed or regulated by any US state, so check your state's law before you join. There's no state regulator to complain to, no state protection for balances, and the casino writes its own terms. We earn a commission on these links and rank partners commercially. Offers are for new players aged 21+ (18+ where allowed), and terms apply.
Silver Oak Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). The casino's banking page lists Coindraw withdrawals from $20 with a 5% fee and 0 to 7 days, and Bitcoin from $50; weekly payouts start at $2,500. Its own site advertises a different welcome, $10,000 as a 100% match on each of the first ten deposits, with 40x slot wagering in its terms (30x on the promotion page), 60x on blackjack and video poker, no max withdrawal and deposits from $30. Silver Oak publishes an Anjouan license held by Primrose Media Limited and was named by Michigan's regulator on April 9, 2025. See our Silver Oak withdrawals page.
Royal Ace Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 35 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviews report a $20 withdrawal minimum, $2,500 weekly and $5,000 monthly caps, and a welcome match listed as 200% up to $4,000 at 30x (bonus plus deposit) on slots with a max cashout of 10 times the deposit; another reviewer lists 250% up to $2,500 + 35 spins. Reviewers also report slow payouts, and one says it doesn't accept Ohio players. Reviewers disagree on its license, reporting Costa Rica or none. Read the Royal Ace review.
Slot Madness Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 50 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviews report a $20 withdrawal minimum, a 275% match with code MAD275 from a $30 deposit at 30x (bonus plus deposit) on slots and no max cashout, and caps of $2,500 a week and $5,000 a month. Michigan's regulator named it on August 14, 2025. Details are in the Slot Madness review.
Here's what wagering means in dollars. A $30 deposit with a 275% match adds $82.50 in bonus, so 30x on $112.50 is $3,375 of slot bets. At an assumed 4% house edge, that play costs about $135 on average, more than the bonus. Bonuses are slot-focused, and table games are often excluded or weighted lower, so check the terms. The casino's own site may show a different package from our link, and the terms shown at sign-up apply. Compare more options on our best low deposit casinos list.

Frequently asked questions
Is Spree a real, trustworthy business?
Spree appears to be a legitimate business: its sign-up guide names Play Spree Ltd, an Isle of Man company with a registered address in Douglas, and we found no regulator action or lawsuit naming it. It isn't licensed by any US state, though, and runs on the sweepstakes model, which a growing number of states ban. Read our full is Spree legit page for the details.
What is the Spree sign-up bonus?
Spree's own guide says new players get 25,000 Gold Coins and 2.5 Spree Coins on registration, with no purchase or promo code, once they verify their email. The Gold Coins are for play only; only Spree Coins can be redeemed. With a 10 SC gift card minimum reported, you'll need more SC before your first prize. See our Spree promo code page.
How do Spree redemptions work?
Spree pays prizes as gift cards or cash, according to a sweepstakes review site citing Spree's May 2026 rules. Gift cards start at 10 SC and reportedly take about 48 hours; cash starts at 100 SC, with 2 to 10 days advertised. No crypto option is published. Our Spree redemption guide covers verification and timing.
Which states can't play at Spree?
A third-party list shows 21 excluded states: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. Oklahoma's ban took effect November 1, 2026 and isn't on that list yet. Check which states ban sweepstakes casinos.
Is there a Spree mobile app to download?
No Spree app is on record; third-party reviewers describe it as web only. You can play in Safari, Chrome or another browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and add a home-screen shortcut if you like. Our mobile casino guide explains how browser play compares with apps for speed, updates and storage.
Are Spree Coins the same as Sweeps Coins?
Yes, in function: Spree Coins are Spree's name for the redeemable sweepstakes currency, shortened to SC like Sweeps Coins elsewhere. You get them free at sign-up or bundled with Gold Coin purchases, and only they can be exchanged for gift cards or cash. Read more in our Sweeps Coins glossary entry.
Is Spree available in Florida?
No, Florida is on the third-party list of states Spree excludes, even though Florida has no sweepstakes casino ban statute on record. Florida allows game promotions under Fla. Stat. 849.094 if they comply, and 2026 bills to ban sweepstakes casinos died. Other brands treat Florida differently, so check each site. See Florida sweepstakes casinos.
Do I pay taxes on Spree prizes?
Yes, gift cards and cash prizes from Spree are taxable income. The IRS's W-2G instructions cover sweepstakes payments, and for 2026 the reporting threshold is $2,000 where the prize is at least 300 times the wager, but smaller prizes are still income. Keep records of what you buy and redeem. Our gambling taxes guide explains how to report.
Can I play Spree in West Virginia?
No, West Virginia is on the third-party list of states Spree excludes, although no West Virginia sweepstakes ban or bill is on record. Spree doesn't publish its reasons, but West Virginia already licenses real-money online casinos through the West Virginia Lottery Commission, under the Lottery Interactive Wagering Act, with up to five licenses allowed by statute. Another sweepstakes company, VGW, also withdrew Sweeps Coins from the state in November 2025. Players in Charleston, Huntington and Morgantown have licensed options at 21+, set out on our West Virginia online casinos page.
What games does Spree have?
Spree offers slot-style casino games from four studios, according to a sweepstakes review site: BGaming, Habanero, Playson and Iconic21. That's a compact lineup next to sweepstakes brands that list ten or more providers, such as Sportzino. No game count or title list is recorded, so look through the lobby with your free Gold Coins before you buy any package. Return-to-player figures for Spree's versions of these games aren't published either. Our casino software providers guide explains how studios differ in style and volatility.
Is Spree better than Stake.us or Sportzino?
Spree is better for small cashouts, while Stake.us and Sportzino are stronger on apps and, for Stake.us, crypto prizes. Spree's reported 10 SC gift card floor sits well below Sportzino's 50 SC minimum and Stake.us's roughly 40 to 65 SC by coin. Spree also has no regulator action on record, while Sportzino faces an Illinois letter and a New York class action. Against that, Spree is browser only, offers no crypto prizes and excludes a reported 21 states. Read our Stake.us redemption guide for how its coin payouts work.
Can you win real money on Spree?
Yes, you can redeem Spree Coins for cash prizes, but only from a reported 100 SC, and you can't buy Spree Coins directly; they come free or bundled with Gold Coin packages. Gift cards start lower, at 10 SC. Gold Coins never convert to cash. Starting from the 2.5 SC sign-up bonus, you'd need to grow your balance 40 times over to reach the cash minimum, and slot-style games pay back less than you stake over time. Treat any prize as a bonus, not an expected result. Our answer to can you win real money online explains the odds.
What should I do if my Spree redemption is late?
If a Spree redemption runs late, first compare it with the reported timings: about 48 hours for gift cards and 2 to 10 days for cash. Check that your email verification and any identity checks are complete, and that the request met the 10 SC or 100 SC minimum. Then contact support in writing and keep every reply. Spree holds no gaming license, so no US state regulator handles complaints; the company to name is Play Spree Ltd in the Isle of Man. Our guide to filing a casino complaint covers next steps.
