Is WOW Vegas legit? It's an established sweepstakes casino that publishes its excluded states and redemption times, and third-party reviewers name MW Services Limited as its operator. It isn't licensed as a casino by any US state, though, and Illinois regulators sent it a cease-and-desist letter in February 2026, according to SportsLine.

Key takeaways

  • Third-party reviewers report the operator as MW Services Limited and a 2023 launch; WOW Vegas runs a dual-currency sweepstakes model, not a state-licensed casino.
  • Its help center blocks sign-up in 3 states and Sweeps Coin play in 13 more, as checked October 28, 2026.
  • SportsLine reports the Illinois Gaming Board named WOW Vegas among 65 operators in February 2026; the brand reportedly ended Sweeps Coin play in Illinois on May 1, 2026.
  • Oklahoma's ban on dual-currency sweepstakes took effect November 1, 2026, after the brand's list was last checked.

Is WOW Vegas legit? The short answer

WOW Vegas operates openly, publishes a dated list of states it won't serve and sets out how long prize redemptions take. Those are signs of an organized business. Legitimacy is a different question from legality, however, and on legality the picture keeps shifting as states pass laws against dual-currency sweepstakes.

The fair summary: WOW Vegas isn't a state-licensed casino, it has been the target of at least one regulator's cease-and-desist action, and it has pulled Sweeps Coin play from states that banned or challenged the model. Our WOW Vegas review covers its games and coins in more depth, and the WOW Vegas promo code page explains the welcome coins.

Who owns WOW Vegas? The reported operator

Sweepsy, a sweepstakes review site, names the operator as MW Services Limited and gives a launch year of 2023. We haven't seen that company name confirmed in WOW Vegas's own pages in the material we reviewed, so treat it as a third-party report.

The same source names Evolution, Skywind and Iconic21 as providers, all for live-dealer games; slot studios weren't listed. It also reports that WOW Vegas is web-only, with no app. Under the sweepstakes model, a state gaming license isn't something these sites hold, so an operator name is one of the few accountability details a player can check.

How the WOW Vegas sweepstakes model claims to stay legal

Like other sweepstakes casinos, WOW Vegas uses two currencies. WC are play-only coins you can buy, and Sweeps Coins (SC) come bundled with purchases or through promotions and can be redeemed for prizes. Operators argue that, because you never directly buy the prize currency, the games are promotional sweepstakes rather than gambling.

A growing number of states reject that argument. New York's law, for example, targets online casino-style games using two currencies where players can win cash or cash equivalents. These are not real-money casinos in the legal sense the sites claim, and they aren't regulated like one either. Our guide to sweepstakes casino laws explains the legal theory and its limits, and the answer on whether sweepstakes casinos are legal gives the state-by-state view.

WOW Vegas regulator actions: the Illinois cease-and-desist

The clearest action on record comes from Illinois. In early February 2026, the Illinois Gaming Board issued cease-and-desist letters to online casino and sweepstakes platforms; the letters are dated February 4 and the state's February 5 release (opens in a new tab) announced them. SportsLine's report (opens in a new tab) says WOW Vegas was one of 65 operators named.

Sources differ on the total: SportsLine's count is 65, while the state's own summary describes more than 60 letters. Either way, WOW Vegas reportedly ended Sweeps Coin play for Illinois on May 1, 2026, according to a sweepstakes-law tracker. Our Illinois sweepstakes casinos page follows that state's enforcement.

We found no other regulator action naming WOW Vegas as of October 28, 2026. Michigan's gaming board treats sweepstakes casinos as illegal gaming and has written to brands such as Stake.us and VGW's LuckyLand, and Mississippi's commission says there are no legal exceptions for so-called sweepstakes casinos. Neither, in the record we hold, named WOW Vegas. Background on these letters is in our explainer on cease-and-desist letters.

WOW Vegas excluded states and sweepstakes bans, state by state

The table matches WOW Vegas's exclusions (from its help center, checked October 28, 2026) with each state's law. Counting carefully: 3 states block registration, 13 block Sweeps Coin play, and that's 16 states in total. Oklahoma is listed separately because its ban took effect after the check.

Maine's effective date is given as July 14 or July 29 depending on the source, so we write July 2026. New Jersey's law is P.L. 2025, c.128 (opens in a new tab), with civil penalties up to $100,000 for a first offense. For the bigger picture, see our timeline of sweepstakes casino bans.

Oklahoma's November 1, 2026 sweepstakes ban

Oklahoma is the newest state to act. SB 1589 amends 21 O.S. § 941; it was vetoed on May 11, 2026 and the veto was overridden on May 14. It took effect November 1, 2026, and bans both online casino games and dual-currency sweepstakes.

A bill summary reports that liability reaches owners, employees, geolocation providers, gaming suppliers, platform providers, promoters and media affiliates. That summary was machine-generated and the enrolled text wasn't reviewed, so treat the affiliate point as reported. Because WOW Vegas's list was last checked before the law took effect, Oklahoma players should look at the brand's current list and our Oklahoma sweepstakes page.

A sweepstakes site can pay prizes reliably and still operate in a way a state considers illegal. Equally, being legal to access in a state without a ban doesn't make a site regulated: there's no state gaming board checking its games, its coin balances or its redemption decisions.

In practice, a dispute over a redemption goes to the site's own support and terms; our WOW Vegas redemption page sets out the published minimums and times. Our guide comparing social casinos and sweepstakes sites explains where the lines fall, and similar questions about other brands are answered on is Stake.us legal and is Chumba legal.

WOW Vegas legitimacy: points for and against

Pros

  • Publishes a dated excluded-states list with two clear tiers.
  • Publishes redemption processing and delivery times by method.
  • Operator name reported by a third-party reviewer.
  • Withdrew Sweeps Coin play from Illinois after regulator action, per reports.

Cons

  • No US state licenses or regulates it as a casino.
  • Named in an Illinois cease-and-desist action, per SportsLine.
  • Its excluded list can lag new laws, as Oklahoma's November 1, 2026 ban shows.
  • The cash value of a Sweeps Coin isn't stated in the sources we used.

How to check whether WOW Vegas is legal where you live

  1. Find your state in WOW Vegas's current excluded-states list.
  2. Read your state's gambling and sweepstakes law, or our state page, even if you're not on the list.
  3. Search your state regulator's news releases for cease-and-desist actions naming the brand.
  4. Read the brand's terms on Sweeps Coin redemption before buying any coins.
  5. Set a spending limit before your first purchase, and keep receipts.
  6. Recheck after any new state law takes effect, because exclusions change.

Is WOW Vegas legit compared with Stake.us and LuckyLand?

Sweepstakes brands share a model but not a record. Comparing WOW Vegas with two of the best-known names shows that its regulator history is shorter than some rivals', though all three have drawn attention from state regulators.

Alternatives to WOW Vegas with an offer via our links

We don't partner with any sweepstakes brand, so no offer below works like WOW Vegas. Planet 7 and Royal Ace are real-money offshore casinos that no US state licenses or regulates, with no state body to hear a complaint. Check your state's law before depositing; several states that ban sweepstakes also treat offshore casinos as illegal, and Oklahoma's new law covers online casino games too. Offers are for new players aged 21+ (18+ where allowed), and terms apply.

  • Planet 7 Casino: $2,750 Welcome Bonus + 45 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). Third-party reviews disagree on its terms; LCB reports 30x bonus + deposit wagering on slots and a $1,000 max cashout on code WELCOME200.
  • Royal Ace Casino: $2,500 Welcome Bonus + 35 Free Spins, via our link (new players, 21+ or 18+ where allowed, terms apply). LCB reports 30x bonus + deposit on slots (60x on blackjack and video poker) and a max cashout of 10x the deposit; Casino Guru lists a different 250% package.

The terms shown at sign-up are the ones that apply. Michigan's gaming board named Planet 7 in its April 9, 2025 cease-and-desist release; Royal Ace appears in none of the Michigan releases we track. Third-party reviewers also report slow payouts at both, which our Planet 7 review and Royal Ace review cover. Bonuses are slot-focused, and table games are often excluded or weighted lower. Frequently asked questions

Can you trust WOW Vegas as a sweepstakes casino?

WOW Vegas is an established sweepstakes brand that publishes its excluded states and redemption times, and third-party reviewers name MW Services Limited as its operator. It isn't licensed as a casino by any US state, and Illinois regulators sent it a cease-and-desist letter in February 2026, per SportsLine. Whether you can use it depends on your state's law. Our WOW Vegas review covers coins, games and redemption in more detail.

What company operates WOW Vegas?

Third-party reviewers report the operator as MW Services Limited, with a launch in 2023. We haven't seen that name confirmed on WOW Vegas's own pages in the material we reviewed, so treat it as reported. The same source names Evolution, Skywind and Iconic21 as live-dealer providers. For how sweepstakes operators differ from licensed casinos, see our guide to sweepstakes vs real-money casinos.

Can I play WOW Vegas legally in my state?

It depends on where you live. WOW Vegas blocks registration in Idaho, Nevada and Washington and blocks Sweeps Coin play in 13 more states, as its help center showed on October 28, 2026. Oklahoma's ban took effect November 1, 2026. Even outside those states, read your own state's law before playing. Our page on which states ban sweepstakes casinos is the quickest check.

Is WOW Vegas still available to Illinois players?

Reportedly not with Sweeps Coins: WOW Vegas ended Sweeps Coin play for Illinois on May 1, 2026, after the Illinois Gaming Board's February 2026 cease-and-desist letters. SportsLine reports the brand was one of 65 operators named; the state's own summary describes more than 60 letters. Illinois has no sweepstakes ban statute, but its regulator treats these games as illegal gambling. Our Illinois sweepstakes casinos page follows what has happened since.

Has WOW Vegas been banned anywhere?

WOW Vegas itself hasn't been named in a ban, but many states have banned the dual-currency model it uses. Laws are now in force in New York, New Jersey, California, Connecticut, Montana, Louisiana, Maine, Indiana, Tennessee and Oklahoma. WOW Vegas excludes Sweeps Coin play in the first nine; Oklahoma's ban took effect after its list was last checked. Our sweepstakes casino bans timeline lists each law with its date.

Can Michigan players use WOW Vegas?

WOW Vegas blocks Sweeps Coin play in Michigan, according to its help center. Michigan has no sweepstakes ban statute, but its gaming board treats sweepstakes casinos as illegal gaming and has sent cease-and-desist letters to brands such as Stake.us and VGW's LuckyLand. We found no Michigan action naming WOW Vegas. Michigan licenses its own online casinos, which our Michigan sweepstakes casinos page explains.

Which is safer: WOW Vegas or an offshore casino?

Neither is regulated by a US state, so neither comes with state-backed protection. WOW Vegas publishes its excluded states and redemption times, while offshore casinos like Planet 7 and Royal Ace are real-money sites that third-party reviewers report as slow to pay. Michigan named Planet 7 in an April 2025 cease-and-desist release. Compare the record on whether Planet 7 is legit before deciding anything. 21+, terms apply.

Is there an official WOW Vegas app?

No, according to third-party reports that describe WOW Vegas as web-only, played in a mobile or desktop browser. Be cautious with any app claiming to be WOW Vegas in an app store, and with unofficial mirror sites that copy the brand. The broader reasons many casino brands don't have store apps are covered in our answer on why there's no casino app in the App Store.

Is WOW Vegas legal in Texas?

Texas hasn't banned sweepstakes casinos, and Texas isn't on WOW Vegas's excluded list as checked on October 28, 2026, but that doesn't make it a licensed or regulated option. A sweepstakes ban, SB 517, passed the Texas Senate and reached the House on May 8, 2025, then didn't advance, according to a third-party tracker. Texas also has no authorization for online casinos. Players in Houston, San Antonio or Dallas should watch for new bills. Our Texas sweepstakes casinos page tracks the state's position.

Does WOW Vegas pay out real prizes?

WOW Vegas says Sweeps Coins can be redeemed for prizes, and its help center publishes redemption times. Processing runs from the same business day for Elite and Platinum players to within 3 business days for lower tiers, then delivery depends on the method: PrizeOut usually instant, Skrill up to 24 business hours, MassPay 1–2 business days and Trustly 3–5 business days. Reported minimums are a $25 gift card or 100 SC for cash. Our WOW Vegas redemption page explains each step.

Is WOW Vegas a real-money casino?

No, WOW Vegas runs a dual-currency sweepstakes model rather than a real-money casino. You buy play-only coins, shown as WC, and receive Sweeps Coins with purchases or promotions, which can be redeemed for prizes. Operators say this makes the games promotional sweepstakes, but a growing list of states treats the model as illegal gambling or bans it outright. It isn't licensed or regulated as a casino by any state. Our answer on the difference between sweepstakes and real money explains the line.

Is WOW Vegas the same company as Chumba or LuckyLand?

No, they're reported to have different operators. Third-party reviewers name MW Services Limited as WOW Vegas's operator, while Chumba's own terms name VGW Malta Limited, and LuckyLand is reported as a VGW Holdings brand. All three use the dual-currency model, and all three were reported among the operators named in Illinois's February 2026 cease-and-desist letters. Their excluded-state lists differ, so check each one separately. Our is Chumba legit page covers the VGW side.

Can WOW Vegas refuse a redemption or close my account?

Yes, because the site's own terms govern redemptions and accounts, and no state gaming regulator reviews its decisions. Common triggers at sweepstakes sites include playing from an excluded state, mismatched personal details and breaking promotion rules. Misstating your location to get around WOW Vegas's exclusions breaks its terms and can void a prize. If a decision goes against you, ask support in writing for the specific rule. Our guide on how to read casino terms shows which clauses to save before you play.

Who makes the games at WOW Vegas?

Only live-dealer providers are named in the third-party review we rely on: Evolution, Skywind and Iconic21. The slot studios behind WOW Vegas's lobby weren't listed, so check the game information inside each title before you play. Known studios say nothing about the operator's legal status; they only tell you who built the games. Results are random, and coins are usually lost over time. Our live dealer guide explains how streamed tables work at casinos and sweepstakes sites.
